That’s me! I’m stoked for Tekken 8, that opening made me feel it
17 years later, The fact that heihachi survived this without any devil gene Abilities is wild. This man is built different
funfact: the arcade version didn't had heihachi or the story scenes explaining IF Heihachi was dead forever or not. Only when the home console port came around through Heihachi's storymode the story was explained how he survived.. which ultimately feels a bit hollow because there was no hint in hindsight about that Heihachi flew away in some sorta burned up manner, because in the scene where this shot/situation was explained the camera had a completly different angle, thus Harada just pulled that one outta his butt and/or the higher ups at Namco were angry about that he would drop Heihachi (perhaps the arcade players too?) that this was the conclusion to the "Heihachi is dead?!" scenario idea.

I always loved how this opening happens literally right after the true ending of Tekken 4. I think this is the only Tekken game that takes place right after the previous one.

3:05 Feng attacking his master
3:36 Devil Jin unleashing his rage
And Jinpanchi unchaining himself
The Jinpachi part was epic because he was the boss
Feng Wei is criminally underrated. I can even wager he's more powerful than Devil Jin's raw power. Feng Wei simply dedicated his whole life (or at least I think whole life) into training to become the most powerful, and his power feats get more badass in his every ending. I think in Tekken 9 they should concentrate on Feng Wei vs Jin/ Devil Jin story as a main Tekken 9 story plot, since we'll be getting Kazuya vs Jin in Tekken 8
For me 3:24 was intense... Seeing the aftermath of that fight.... Feng's master's dead corpse... like damn, Feng is a murderer
Mine was kazuya and heihachi squaring off together side by side to fight as a team for the first and only time though it’s brief
When games were not littered with season passes and dlc characters. You'd get the full game and lots of content
Dlc is a modern shit. To get all characters in T5 you had to complete with different characters, that's the right thing, and T5 is the best one even today. It has great stories with all characters not just the Mishima, some fun, some serious, some badass, stages were all cool, ost too and despite it's age graphic is still great even today and it wasn't so combo centered like T6 and T7.
Literally this was the first Tekken with a "expanded version" at fully price with only 3 new characters (Tekken Dark Resurrection) xD

@gym leader ehhh I wouldn’t really call it an expansion. It was just like an odd extra version they had to bridge the gap between 5 and 6, and was never released on ps2. Would be pretty disingenuous to act like it was DLC when you couldn’t even get that stuff on the console it released on
3:16 to 3:35 is my favorite part of the song, that little bit of guitar that plays when Feng is looking down at his master gives me chills every time 😍

Playing Tekken every day and not skipping the opening is amazing in itself.

I've always loved how they showed Devil Jin at the end of the intro because I remember we always wanted to play as Devil Jin and that moment finally came when this came out. It was a sick-ass intro showing Devil Jin roaring his shit out.

Yep, I love the whole opening but this scene with Feng defeating his master with the song at this point is absolute gold. Perfectly timed and choreographed.
2:55 - 3:10 I can never fully describe how hype this moment makes me feel.
Masterful increase of intensity by the track and characters, then a beautiful resolution in the music as feng moves in slow-mo through the rain.
I randomly think about this moment ever since I was 5 years old
whoever was editing this opening did a masterful job on this part, is almost 20 years and i never saw such hard scene in any opening or game cutscene as this one.
This is still to this day the best Intro Harada and the Crew has ever done. You can tell how much work they put into this game. Even for Tekken 7, Harada had to bring this back because he knows its the best thing he's ever done. And yes, This intro is better than Tekken 4, Tekken 2 and Tekken 3.
This had everything. New characters introduced, Drama, badass and hype moments. Not to mention, the song is great too!

Tekken 5 has always been my favorite game. I got it for Christmas and I really didn't get a chance to play the other tekkens but when I played this first and the intro was going on, I was completely captivated.
I liked how in Tekken 5 game, You can play other tekkens like Tekken 1,2 and 3 except 4.
I always liked Asuka when she was first introduced but I'm kinda sad how they treated her after this game. She could have been so much more considering she has some type of power to turn Jin back into himself.

The first half with Heihachi and Kazuya brought me back to Tekken then. Before Tekken 5 came out I saw it as the trailer and I was mind blown. I was born 1990 and I started with Tekken 2 on a Demo (good times). You could only select Jun and Lei two of the new characters and you played on an endless mode without end boss but this was how I was introduced to Tekken. Then when Tekken 3 came out my brother and I and some cousins and friends all had the full version and this was the greatest time I had with Tekken. We made tournaments when there were family parties, we met to fight, many had their main characters trained to do the 10 hit combos. Then when Tekken 4 came out I played it just once in an electric market were they had a PS2 with the game prepared. I don't know but I was a bit disappointed that there were less characters and it felt a bit different. Another big reason was that I didn't had enough money at the time and there have been other games I preferred to buy so I skipped Tekken 4 (what a bad decision but it is how it is). And then this Trailer came out and I got triggered again. Now I have Tekken 5, 6 and 7 in my shelf and soon Tekken 8 will be there as well. That's my Tekken story. Thank you for reading.
