  • In June we are Looking Up as we create Slow Stitch Inspired By the Night Sky. This is part 1 of our June Stitch Along.
You'll need some light and dark fabric pieces, embroidery threads, needle and scissors and perhaps an erasable marking pen.
If you like what you see and want to catch all the videos in this series, you can subscribe to this channel, and if you click the notifications bell, you will never miss an upload.
Join me at 2.30pm GMT every Sunday for a restful time of slow stitch, embroidery and textile art. Each month we are going to create a complete piece of art that we will create bit by bit each week.
Feel free to follow my design, use my piece as inspiration, or you could use the same techniques as me to create something totally original.
I hope to try lots of new things this year as I create my 2024 stitched journal. I hope you will come along for the ride!
Please tag me when you post your creations on social media. @featherstitchhouse and use #fshwingingit24 so that I can see your beautiful work.

Thanks so much. I'm glad it was helpful. Thanks to Moss Robinson, my junior school maths teacher for the string trick.

Thank you. I wasn't sure it would work but thought, what's the worst that could happen turned out better than I thought it would. 🤗

Boy it would be awesome if our country turned off the lights at a certain time so we could see the stars. We have rain so I don't think we will be able to see any of the planets. Our weather person will let us know when the space station is traveling by and we will usually go out to watch it fly by. It is amazing that we can watch.

I do love dark sky areas. We took our daughter shooting star watching when ŵ were in Northumberland last year. It was stunningly clear. Everyone should see the real night sky at least once a year. It grounds us!
