Hi guys--I’m really missing your “SIt and Knit for a bit”. I’m experiencing a real craving for more of Arne and Carlos. Just the 10 minutes or so on Sunday leave me wanting more, and more. Will you be doing more in the future? I sure hope so. Thanks for all you share.
We will let you guys know soon
I am very glad you showed Annemor"s technique in slow motion.
I give you 2 big thumbs up for your tip on tightening a loose stitch. You guys rock.
When investing the time you want a gorgeous garment. All these great tips, thank you.
Thank you for sharing great techniques to help me be a better knitter. Love your sweaters and the videos of your trip last year showing how they are made!
Those sweaters are stunning. Perfect embellishments!
😊
Thank you for this explanation, I just finished a hat and cowl that I got from your website and I had this problem. Despite my many mistakes, I finished the project and I am delighted with the result.
Also, thank you for being so gracious, funny and corteous, this world needs more people like you. I have subscribed, signed for newsletter and I am following you on social media. I am here to stay. 😊
Thank you Marcela!
Once again looking quite dapper in those gorgeous sweaters!!!!
I couldn’t figure how to tighten a float. Excellent tutorial! Thank you for all your tutorials. You are the best!
You are welcome!
It was nice to see your smiling faces again. Thanks for the tips.
Clever how that is done. I always enjoy watching you two.
Thank you!
When I first started with colorwork, everyone kept saying "Keep your floats loose!" so I overcompensated and it always looked sloppy. Eventually, I started to tighten up my tension and just try to make the stitches even, and I've improved a lot. Never as good as Arne, but I have ambitions! 😄
Well done!
Your sweaters are beautiful, I love the colors and accompanying silver jewels. Thanks for the video, love to watch you guys knit.
Thank you Anita!
I love seeing you guys 'all dressed up' in your beautiful Setesdal sweaters. They are so intriguing with the embroidered trim. It's amazing to see such quality work being done by hand these days. Because of all your tutorials, I too knit with 2 colors the way you both do. None of my friends or family knit, so you are the only people I've ever learned techniques from, especially with stranded color work. Thank you!
Just "found" you last year! You have been a great source of entertainment, amusement, and education. Thank You for sharing a small part of your lives!
Thank you for watching!
Those beautiful Setesdal sweaters.
One of my earliest pleasures was colorwork. I’ve always made up my own patterns; have lately been surprised at how much people look for proper, published patterns. I never thought it was that difficult.
😊
It is always good to learn new ways to do colour work.😀
All dressed up and looking fabulous! 😍😘
Today was wonderful, learning how to create better Fair Isle is always appreciated. Thank you ♥
I agree with Steffanie!!!! It is so wonderful to sit. and do my knitting at the end of my work day and listen to you guys. Thanks for your you tube presence!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Those sweaters are beautiful and you guys look handsome in them 💕🇨🇦
You both look fabulous in the sweaters with the buttons and sliver clasps. Great tutorial and very relevant to me as I just cast on a colorwork yoke sweater. I will practice the pick and throw technique with two colors. I too am missing your sit and knit podcast. Its always nice to hear about what you have been up to and the funny shenanigans you seem to have. Take care until next time!
See you soon!
Thank you dear Arne and Carlos for this interesting episode. I am learning so much from you. Looking forward to your news about sit and knit.
Coming up!
I so miss you guys, but I love I can listen to your previous shows. You two always make me smile. My favorite show to rewatch is December 23rd about your bug. I had one exactly like yours. I don't knit. I am tempted to learn. Thank you for all the joy you bring into my life.
Thank you for watching Debbie, we hope you will give knitting a go, it is a lot of fun!
I'm always so happy when you demonstrate a technique and I think"oh I do it that way too" 😊 I've usually thought of dominate color as the one that appears the most in the row.
Thank you, it is easier to see how than when Annemor showed it. I do hope she visits you again, that series was so interesting, have a lovely week, see you next Sunday
You as well!
Love the Christmas silver decorations for the sweaters!
❤️
Always good to see you two.
Thank you!
I really enjoy Sit and Knit. I love the hour long sessions💖
Thank you again,
Very best wishes,
A
Thank you Adola!
Once again learned an easier way. I am going to practice this way of knitting on a dish cloth in cotton yarn. Lovely to see you both as usual. You both look very handsome in you sweaters.
I’m glad you made this video I watched Annemor on the other video in slow motion so many times and couldn’t be sure what was happening.
You are welcome
I started doing color work by watching Arne’s video on how to make a hat. It’s now one of my favorite things to do. Thank you for always being so encouraging.❤️
Miss your Sit & Knits but hope you are enjoying the break! Come back soon-more cooking and house episodes, please!
👍🏻
I am yet to knit colourwork, but it's on my to do list. Thanks for showing this easy method to knit with 2 colours. It's always a pleasure 🙂.
You are welcome!
Lucky Magnus getting a beautiful Setesdal sweater! He will look very handsome in it! 😍 ❤️from🇨🇦
I think color work is now possible!! Goal :start colorwork pattern2022 ! you are so wonderful to share so much with us , and guide and teach us! Thank you for adding light and hope for the new year! Knitting cruise someday please!!!!!
Have fun!
Oh my, that mouse is adorable! Looking forward to more shenanigans!
😊
Thank you for the very clear tutorial! I enjoyed it very much with my Monday morning coffee. ☕️ And kudos for your selection of music at the beginning and end of videos, very enjoyable! ❤️
Thank you Cheryl and we hope you had a nice morning!
Always hanging on to your every word! Love your teaching. xx
The sweaters are gorgeous.
Thank you. Getting into color work and this helped. Like others said it's always nice when you demonstrate techniques.
👍
When I discovered the "Norwegian way" to knit colorwork, it totally changed my life! I'm a "thrower" and so when I had to do two colors I always held my left finger up in the air. But once you guys taught me to hold it down, things got so much easier! It inspired me to knit a colorwork vest kit that I'd been saving for years. My stitches were so much more even and balanced between the two colors. And no finger pain from waving that finger in the air! Thanks for sharing these tips -- they may seem small but can make such a difference.
We are so happy to hear this!
Loving that the animal is involved.
❤️
Always so happy to see you both again. So very interesting today. You’ve helped me how to be a better knitter.
😊
Looking forward to seeing Magnus' sweater when it is finished. Of course his sweater will need embroidery as well. Thank you for this technique.
You are welcome!
This was useful, thank you! Doing my first stranded color work. 😊
It was good to see you all dressed up!
I saw that video with Annemor and have been using her technique on my first colorwork with lice House socks. It works beautifully for me.
👍🏻
I absolutely love the curtains behind you!
Thank you!
I have never knitted with more than one color. Thank you for the clear and encouraging lesson. I also really enjoy the history lessons. Your sweaters are very handsome!
You both look lovely in your sweaters!
So charming, so knowledgeable. Thankyou again
You are welcome!
After listening to your conversations about consistent tension, I've found that keeping the lighter color to the right, regardless of which hand(s) are involved, really helps. Lice present an added challenge though, so I look forward to trying this out!
As always good to see you two. Great tip. Thank you
Tusen takk ! I´ve been knitting colourwork for nearly 48 years now, and it is still great to learn something new. There are only few people in Austria who know how to knit a "lusekofte", so your videos are a huge enrichment to my knitting !
Thank you so much for this. I knit colour work in the same way your do, but sometimes get larger stitches and now I know how to put it right. Very many thanks.
Try as I might, I couldn't adapt to the continental style of knitting of holding up the yarn by the left index finger. Until I saw Arne picking the yarn on another video. I tried it and now my knitting is flying along. Many thanks for the demo.
Very pleasant episode as usual, I'm a thrower in knitting but in colour work I throw the main colour and pick the other colours from the finger! Essentially the same but the other way round! Take care both of you.
Just what I needed for my current project! Thanks so much!
Hi! Thanks so much for showing us this technique! It’s very nifty if you have a very loose float! Although mine tend to be too tight in general…but still, good to have this in your back pocket!
Thank you Katherine, we have had a lot of request since we posted the video with Annemor.
You’re teasing us with your ‘plans’. I will be here, waiting for you. My first color work was your Reine hat. It turned out ok. Then, my second color work was a 2021 Christmas Ball. It turned out ok. I want to knit more balls and get better with DPN’s. Thanks for everything.
😊❤️
Thank you for this very helpful tip. Magnus needs a Setesdal sweater! He looks cold.
True!
This is how I discovered the world of A&C, searching online for help w/ tension in my colorwork! I have learned the method you use, and overall what I have learned is--Do Not Be In A Hurry! I move slowly in colorwork, it's a kind of Zen!, and my colorwork results are much better.
No rush!
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos and to learn something. 🧡
😊
Your jumpers and jewellery look fabulous
I like the throwing in the other color it makes it easier!
Thank you, once again, for your informative video! I am new to color work and this was so helpful.
You are welcome Karen!
Timely video, as color work has been calling my name. Thanks for another great tutorial.
You are welcome!
Nice trick thanks ! You both look great in your Setesdal sweater.
Love the Setesdal sweaters you guys are wearing...
Looking forward to the embroidery lessons! 🥰
I miss the views out your window and the Winter garden tour.
😊❤️
Thats an interesting way to tighten up your stiches, I am knitting yrigger mits with two colours, so I may have to keep that idea in mind. Thanks again guys!
You are welcome!
Thank you for the great tutorials! I really miss Sit and Knit For a Bit. I think you are both so wonderful, and I enjoy your interaction with each other. Please consider bringing back Sit And Knit For a Bit - you don't have to stick to a schedule, or even plan what you will discuss.
Thank you for your feedback Andria!
Your mini Nordic sweaters were a great opportunity for me to practice colour work. It is interesting to see the back of the knitting because I twist my strands together as I knit like with intarsia. When I first did colour work, the instructions said that a maximum of 5 stitches could be knit between colour changes and the back looked like your knitting. I need to change my colour work technique. Thank you for a great tutorial.
👍🏻❤️🎉
I'm fairly new to colourwork. And I used your Christmas balls as practice. I really like Arne's method for holding both strands. After I loosened up my death grip on the yarn, I'm having a lot more fun now knitting the colourwork. I have yarn for the colourwork scarf in your A&C Favorite Designs book and that will be my next big colourwork project. Really excited for the end product!
I am aspiring to learn colorwork. Thank you for this video!
You are welcome, we have several other colorwork tutorials❤
Really liked this episode. Thanks.
Another great knitting lesson. Thank you
You are welcome!

Many thanks for your generosity and clear instructions! Always good cheer from Arne and Carlos! ❤️❤️
Thank you!
Arne & Carlos, these are great techniques. I can't wait to see how the little sweater will look for the mouse🤗🌞
Thank you!
That was really helpful. I've had that problem and never knew how to correct it, thank you. I love your sweaters by the way. They are just beautiful.
Thank you!
Lovely to see Magnus. With kids they say I remember when you were little but I'd have to say to Magnus I remember when you were much much bigger! :)
😍
Thank you so much for revisiting the colorwork technique for the lice!
You are welcome!
Thank you for this demonstration I will have to try on my next knitting project.
❤️❤️❤️❤️Y’all r always entertaining .. That’s a sweet gray mouse ..
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing, watching you two makes me want to make a colorwork sweater. Your many tips well make it easier
Great, we hope you make one!
Finishing up my second Setesdal sweater! Love knitting that pattern so this video is very helpful for me as I will be definitely knitting more in the future
Thank you for sharing how you do colorwork. I am going to give it a try. 😀
Do it!
Nice to see you. Hope you are well!
I have just completed my first pair of colour work socks that fit ! Using one of your great patterns.
Thank you both for all your helpful and enjoyable videos 👏
🎉🎉
Thank you Arne and Carlos! It is always a pleasure to learn from you 💞 I also miss #sitandknitforabit ! You were my companions in these strange lonely times, so comforting and I've learnt so much! It was so interesting to hear from you about Norway, hiking, your beautiful dogs, UFOs, ... everything!!! Maybe you can gift us with a monthly podcast? 🙏 🥰
We will announce our plans for 2022 soon
Thank you for sharing! I always look forward to seeing your technique!
Clever technique. I do colourwork two-handed, and to avoid colour dominance I keep to the mantra “light in right,” so the lighter of the two colours is in my right (throwing) hand. If the colours are very close in value I just make a decision as to which way to hold them, and then try to be consistent with that. I may well try the Annemor way of tightening up a single stitch though, would never have thought of doing it that way on my own! Thanks!
So good to see you!
Thank you!
