You can look at GPS metrics. That shows up at the bottom of the data (calories, stairs, weather, etc). On my Fenix 6 pro, I push the bottom left button.

@@ibby81ae both are great black makes the screen pop for more contrast. Stainless Steel(SS) is a great option to disguise scratches. I like the SS options as well, but when I’m swimming in the ocean or surfing I don’t like things to sparkle underwater.
@@Wasabi_Master AMOLED will be the way of the future. Go with the Fenix 8! Here are my alternative reasons why I wouldn’t. You like the legacy technology of the MIPs screen, if you like a slightly darker screen, if you like simpler technology. I found that the fenix8 took more of my attention away from the task at hand. I was interacting with the watch more than what I normally would mostly because it’s so cool and visually impressive. If you like the idea of interacting with your watch while you are active this watch is perfect.
Fenix 8 solar mip is a great option over Fenix 8 amoled if you prefer the benefits of solar and longer battery. The Fenix 8 solar mip compares better to tactix mip.
If you didn't land to far from your phone you can call your mom or the emergency services from your wrist, that's the difference, otherwise the fenix 8 comes in amoled and maps, in 3 sizes, with or without saphire,... the watchband size changes with the watchsize but you can use the same bands,...
When you’re not in activity mode you don’t need to worry about turning GPS off in the settings because it’s not on anyway. Thanks for the video!

@@andszym10 that’s a good point especially if you are trying to keep your HR in a specific zone while your racing or training.

Question: If you're doing hiking, daytime cycling, indoor gym, traveling. Would you go for the AMOLED or Solar MIP display?

No watches are made to survive mountain biking. It's a matter of time when you take a fall right on the screen and no glass screen can survive that.
If you crash and your sapphire screen breaks, that will be the least of your problems.
