I use a Garmin Fenix 8, but Coros is legit. It’s a pure sports watch. I can see why so many olympians use it. It’s a pure training Watch. When I ran my 15k recently, it was a very competitive field, lots of people who are running the Boston were in. I noticed lots of Coros watches. Garmin still the most popular but I mean, it’s a lot of Coros out there.
I started with the Garmin Venu 2, moved to Coros Pace 3 and now i'm on Coros Pace Pro and I absolutely love the Coros ecosystem. I also use the HR Armband and it's magnificent. I do think they could at least add the ability to control music that's being played from your phone instead of me having to pull my phone out all the time on a run. Everything else works great for my needs though.
I had to laugh when you talked about the MIP display. Garmin didn’t bring in the AMOLED display until the Epix line. Before that all Garmin’s were MIP. And even with the new Fenix 8 you have MIP options and the Garmin Enduro comes with MIP only. Most ultra running athletes prefer MIP because of the long battery life. Also you can now share workouts from your watch with the new Fenix 8. Coros has it’s place, but I’m with you, Garmin to me is far superior.
You can tell the people who actually sport enthusiasts from the tech lovers who happen to exercise. I wish it were more of the former marking videos, rather than all of this marketed content.
I switched from Garmin to Coros. I had the Epix Gen 2 sapphire and went to Apex Pro2. I really like Coros and there are some things I miss from Garmin. 450$ for multi gps, map navigation, sapphire, and 24 day battery.
Thanks for sharing that a Garmin watchband fits the coros one. In my country it's hard to find coros watchbands, but garmin ones are more common. Will order a garmin one
Just hate that HR sensor on Coros usually lags even when set to real-time mode. I used 265 then changed to pace 3 and now I'm using 265s because of my small wrist
I have been using Garmin for 8 years and in my opinion it is only good for running and activities that measure distance and pace. Everything else including sleep tracking is average or bad.
Currently on an Epix 2, used to have the Coros Pace 2 before. On the budget side (Pace 2/3), I feel like Coros nails the essentials, especially the app. I'm really happy with the plethora of Garmin features, but I still miss using the Coros app for its simplicity and focus on the sport. I really dislike the Garmin Connect UX and the whole IQ store thing. If Garmin could recruit some proper software engineers and clean up their mess, it would be the best of both worlds
That’s what I told them last time! I’ve talked with support and told them that as a software engineer for me it’s unacceptable that such simple bugs are escaping to production. I even offered help!😂
@@Mateusz-jl1sv Be that one guy who started working for company just to fix that one bug that bothered him and quit immediately afterward 😂 Not all heroes wear capes!
Another great video! I haven't tried any of the Coros watches and that's why you pretty much everything i wanted to know. I have been in the Garmin echo system since '06. I'm currently on a GF7x and I'm waiting to bite the bullet on a GF8, but i like to hear about the competition and you saved me the disappointment😢 I regularly use use gym workouts and editing previous step is a must have as well as post workout editing. Overall gym workout is great, but Garmin hasn't done much with gym lately. Seeing a picture of all of your muscles that you used is great, but id like to see them take it to the next level. Give me a weekly summary of the muscle groups used and their percentages of work so that i can plan further workouts. Or evan cooler give suggested workouts with a few exercises to target those neglected areas.
I hear a lot of good things about Coros, but only from influencers who are sent the devices for free. Easy to like something when you don’t have to pay for it… 😀 The one you tested seems to be way behind the Garmin equivalent. Just bought the Garmin FR965, and it is excellent, very pleased with the size and clarity of the screen and just how responsive it is.
They've got budget-friendly watches like the Pace 3, which seems to be what most people gravitate to. But their priciest watch is still missing features you'd find in entry-level Garmins. That said, I absolutely love their app-honestly, I could make a whole video just about that! 😂
I've been using a pace 3 since release, I bought it with my own money as an upgrade from my garmin Forerunner 35, and it has everything I need for 30-40 mile weeks of running. It was definitely worth the money for me
Dude, i would just peel off thal “leather” of ur headphone.. anyway, i have a coros pace 3 that i use almost the entire time.. it was either that or garmin 165 that time.. due to budget.. quite satisfied with my coros so far but would love to try a garmin in d future
Coros is actually scratch resistant on the bezel, i had the old vertix and sold it after two years with no scratch anywhere.. Insane ikr. Now Garmin is awesome but the bezel gets scratched just by breathing on it, and both watches claim they offer titanium protection 🤷♂️
low end coros is a great budget choice. But mid to high range I don't see anything come close to Garmin. Upgraded to Suunto from Coros Pace 2, and found a lot of missing features. That tells you how good low end coros punches above its weight class. But I ditched Suunto for garmin in days.
I've been a long time Garmin user and hate the connect app since the update dropped. (: I hardly look at it nowadays. This is gonna be my last Garmin for sure.
I've seen some YT videos that the GF8 has weight workouts for runners, which is cool, but hopefully Garmin isn't neglecting the fitness people that want train for runner's as well as general fitness. Also hopefully these features trickle down the line until i get a GF8. The GF9 will probably be out by then😂
I think you are talking about sharing post activity details. In video there was complain about sharing with your running group planned workout to execute. This is only possible right now with Garmin Share but that is only possible if your teammate has this feature available. While fit files are well defined and standardized (and created by Garmin) it is really strange that it cannot be shared like any other file between modern digital gizmos.
I did the exact same 8 weeks ago.. sold my FR965 for a Coros Vertix 2S. I personally went back to Garmin and an AMOLED I’m just not a fan of MIP displays anymore. I also really missed Garmin daily suggested workouts and fully routable maps you can make directly from the watch. Setting myself a 15k distance target and having Garmin at halfway route me back to the start via a different way than I came is something I love. With that being said I really liked the Coros app it seemed a lot more focused on the things that matter and Garmin could take note of that.
This is why you never should spend this much money without researching the product. Coros is a great device but with a little research it’s easy to find out that it’s ideal for runners and cyclists…everyone else will likely not be pleased with most other workout features. The wellness features it has are also good. I have both a 265s and a Pace 3. I love both. No need to live in this world of I hate one product and love another. Despite the ending of the video, this seemed to bash the Coros watch a lot, unfairly and without much research done ahead of time.
This was my first ever video of yours. Your cinema photography, transitions and the like are just amazing. So easy to watch. And a question. The deal breakers for me, were Coros couldn’t: 1) create an alarm that only vibrated, without turning off all noises for the watch 2) allow me to edit display screens from the watch 3) upload via Wifi only without the app Are these 3 things still true? Ie still not possible?
Yo... I don't think Ive ever spent so much time researching, testing, filming and editing Hope it was worth it for you guys 🙏

“Think of MIP as the original ipod” is nasty work! Cmon bro 😂😂
For how long have you been using Garmin? They still sell mip screen watches like the Forerunner 255 or the instinct series.
Even their Fenix lineup including the latest Fenix 8 has MIP display 🤦🏿♂️. For a guy with the name “Garmin Gang” he sure doesn’t know his stuff

I only have one question, what camera you use for your video bro?
haha. I mainly use a Sony ZV E1 because it's a very small full frame. On occasional videos ill whip out the A7s III 🤙

Not sure what you mean by Garmin cannot share workout details. I am able to share my Garmin workouts from the Connect app just the same as Coros.

Awesome review! I will stay with my Garmin lol Love the Cox 5K shirt!!
Thanks for the invite to that 5k 🙌
I have the Gamin Fenix 7X MIP. I prefer it over any Garmin amoled any day.
Doesn't Garmin have Garmin Share where you can straight up bluetooth a workout to another user in real time?

So how long is that battery life with the AMOLED vs the MIP display?
@@MikeTrieu I’m getting 3 weeks at the moment that’s with a 40min-1 hour gps activity 5 days out of 7 AOD off.

Excellent overview.
