Excited to show you this abandoned gold mine in the sky that wound down through multiple tunnels into the mountain! I found GPS coordinates for this abandoned gold mine and had to off road to get there but it was so worth it! There was an hour to hour and a half hike up a mountain to the entrance to this abandoned cave that had multiple interconnected tunnels!
I' can't wait to explore more abandoned gold mines! Make sure you follow along, don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss any of my future videos! Living the van life in my truck camper has brought me on so many exciting adventures! While I'm new to overloading and off roading, I'm getting more and more comfortable with this 4x4 Ford F250 setup.
Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss any of my upcoming adventures!

Doc, I do not know why your old videos (1 - 2 years old) are in my queue the last couple of days, but they have been fun to rewatch! While I enjoyed this one and while I try to keep my worrying to myself, this one had me a little uneasy! Of course, you took the sketchiest route, but I know you were careful and had your head on your shoulders! Thanks for sharing with us Doc, Keep it up! See you on your next adventure!

I’m not sure that crossing the threshold of the mine could ever be considered safe. Air quality, dropping rocks and cave ins are just a few of the unknowns. A shocking number of people have died in mine shafts while natural caves are relatively safe.

Your videos are really inspirational! Back in 1976 I had just graduated from optometry school. My 18 year old cousin and I took off from KY for Alaska in my VW bug. Our motor blew up the third day. After five days, we were on our way again. Nine hundred miles of the Alcan Hwy were still gravel, so we ate a lot of dust. We had six flats and one broken windshield. We camped along the way and stayed some of the 42 nights in motels. I made the same trip in 2008 and slept in my Honda Civic all 75 nights. I believe I will use many of your video tips and move up to a van for my projected 120 day trip this summer. You have been really helpful. Thanks!

Hi Dr. Hannah! I didn't see that anyone anwsered your questions (Although I didn't read many of them...) So.... Yes the milky white rock is quartz, The blue-green is probably copper oxide of some sort or another. The brownish-red material is iron oxide. Any crumbly white deposits would have been lead or silver.
If you were to ask my opinion, I wouldn't advise exploring old mines without someone that knew what they were about... but you didn't so I will just say I enjoyed the video, thank you.

I also offroad an F250. I highly recommend airing down those tires to 18-22psi. It makes a HUGE difference in ride comfort over those rocks. It'll help the camper as well. With your camper, I'd recommend 18 up front and 22 in the back. Install an onboard air system, or just bring a portable compressor for when you get back on the road.

As someone who specializes is remote medicine and risk management, not to mention confined space rescue. Have fun, but be carefully: many hazards there, and if you get trapped you are on your own, no cell or sat msg through the rock strata. Stay educated stay safe. And happy trails.

Didn't look like the safest one but most of the shoring or timbers (pylons) looked to be in good shape. Be careful in old mines! You can end up hurt, lost or dead REAL quick.

It obvious that you are intelligent, adventurist, an eternal optimist, and beautiful. But what I want to know is do you have any particular discipline or spirituality that you adhere to that keeps you centered and balanced? You always seem to be positive in a world that is filled with negative intent and negative people. What is your secret? - Mitch

I recently found your channel and love your videos. And by recently, I mean yesterday. I think everyone here (watching) lives for the outdoors. As a person, I feel my best when I am doing something involving an adrenaline dump. I grew up racing motocross so my dirtbike is my number one go-to. I also love snowboarding, cliff jumping, backpacking, and everything else you might imagine. I just watched your video where you got snowed in at the parking lot of the slopes and now I am watching this one. I can't help but notice that you are doing your exploring and whatnot solo. Not even a dog. Why is that? You're clearly a badass chick who can handle it and that is what makes your channel so interesting to subscribe to, but there's gotta be a reason you don't have anyone else with you to help out with things like filming and anything else that might go wrong. Maybe I just need to take a page out of your book and make my f-150 ready for some solo exploring. Anyway, that's enough of my rambling, thanks for the content. Keep posting the badass content.

The greenish blue minerals in the mine could have been tarnished copper. You mentioned they had gotten quite a bit of copper out of there. I worked at a gold mine in Nevada years ago called the Bull Frog mine because there was a green mineral there, but don't recall the name of the mineral. That looked like a great adventure!

I realize I'm not there and have no way of assessing the real danger present nor your actual preparation and plans, so I can only implore you to continue to evaluate and use caution. they make rock/mineral books just like they make birding books. If you look around you may be able to find one that gives specifics to what you may find in certain regions or areas with visuals of each kind of stone to help you out. It is fun and gives some good night time reading around the camp. Also vegetation and wild food foraging books are fun. I'm not assuming you don't have some of this already or have general knowledge in some of these areas but I found these added to our adventures growing up.

Thanks for the hike up! I'm going to be going there in a few weeks .. I'm checking out the bottom area where the cables start. A word of caution. You went into that adit without checking anything. Did you looks for animal tracks or scat? An adit looks like a nice lair for some animal. I was checking a small adit I found here in AZ .. it was more a prospect then an adit but worth the check .. no tracks or scat .. should be good. Going in I could see the face of the prospect .. only went back about 50 feet. As I stood there I became aware of a loud humm! Took me a second to figure it out and then I shut off my light and very cautiously and as quietly as I could got out as fast as I possibly could and did not stop till I got to the truck and got inside. I had not been followed! KILLER BEE'S!
I don't follow your channel and was looking for this mine .. I do not know if you are alone or have a second person .. if you are alone going into the mine like that is really not safe. Sorry. I'm an old man.
