Few corrections, it's engine braking not breaking. Engine braking is the resistance offered by the engine to the rotation of the wheel since throttle is closed (only idling fuel quantity is delivered) the engine is having a hard time pumping air through, thus wants to slow down(negative work). In Rev matching, when clutch is pulled in to downshift the engine's rpm decreases since it's disconnected from the wheel and is free now when the clutch is dumped there is a sudden increase in engine rpm with a corresponding decrease in wheel rpm rev matching is to done to smoothen this sharp rpm reaction in which by blipping the throttle before dumping the clutch makes the engine rpm high enough where a sudden rpm reaction is smoothened out. Also please demonstrate a clutchless downshift to the viewers since it's faster way of rev matching and also downshifting at the same time. The main aim of rev matching is to reduce wheel hop.
