I'm a teacher, and I've had students that had political views that I don't agree with. What did I do? Nothing. It's my job to provide a service that I'm being paid for. These people that mix personal stuff with professional stuff will always fail in the end, socially and professionally

It's unfortunate that well-intentioned companies striving for greater feedback and collaboration from their communities fall victim to turncoats with dyed hair that destroy their hard work in this manner. In this case, Nat openly acts against the philosophy of the company they're supposed to represent and chooses to impose their own vision. Sad all around.
I would fire this Community Manager immediately. Blocking developers, donators, and gamers like this for the sake of politics can damage the company. Most of the games made using the Godot engine are indie games made by small studios trying to get away from Unity. I don't want to see them get ironfisted and crushed because of cyberbullies who are given that sort of power.

Fire nothing, this seems like grounds for a lawsuit quite simply. I doubt there's previous precedent but this seems akin to something like corporate espionage as they are actively, intentionally, and maliciously running the company into the ground.

It's VERY common in the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) For this mentality to take over. Partially because FOSS have kind of socialist values, but also because FOSS projects are easy pickings for the radicals to infiltrate.
Godot is very nice, easy to use software with no strings attached. It has potential to make top selling games, and as we can see the creator of it doesn't share those radical values of the community manager. Seriously need to vet these people before they are put in charge of anything
the fundamental problem with free projects is they are run by people who don't value their own time. look at wikipedia for example - 99% of edits made by 1% of the users. think about the kind of person who has the free time to spend 16 hours a day editing wikipedia. why would you want someone who never goes outside deciding what's true and relevant?
true, the only redeeming factor about this is you have full legal rights to make Godot's (the name) footprint as low as possible and just make your game. You are not legally required to brand yourself after them with the terms of the MiT license.

This is unfortunately not an uncommon occurrence in the FOSS space. The software itself can be great quality and freely available to everyone, the project 100% ethical and inclusive, then one politically obsessed weirdo starts causing drama by excluding or attacking others. Sometimes these activist types will even infiltrate projects solely with intent of spreading their message, it's become a real problem.
Right. First they force through the "code of conduct", which pretty much says they/thems are an ascended form of humanity, and then everyone who disagrees with them for any reason gets forced out.

I am learning Godot Engine in free time at least 3 year's from now - as a dream hobby, we could say - and from "this particular manager" I stopped using Godot Forums.

For the record if anyone sees this who’s learning Godot, the project is FOSS and has a ton of different contributors in and out of the Foundation itself-not even including the people who develop plug-ins or other additions to the engine.
This is to say the project/community is really decentralized, and 99% of it cares mostly about making games. The community manager apparently going rogue won’t (and can’t) change any of that.
And I’m willing to bet she’ll be reigned in soon enough.
TLDR: keep making games, Godot’s going to keep getting better at making games, and it’s physically/legally impossible for any kind of political attitude to really impact that in any significant way.

I just finished my first Godot game a few months back (an MVP just to learn the engine). For those that don't know, Godot is open source and super developer friendly, I believe it's free to sell games in Godot even. I was planning on making something bigger in Godot, but now I'm changing to Unreal and hopefully that's my last jump. First the Unity fiasco and now this...

Yes, however the effort and coordination it would take to continue development of that specific fork as an up-to-date competitor of Godot would be immense. Godot has a decent amount of public support and community backing. That likely won't be the case for every one of the thousands of forks that people make of it, trying to make their own Godot.

As a Godot Engine user that's been using it for 3 years, it's really disheartening to hear. Though, it doesn't make me want to switch it out because it's the only engine I use.

@@jimgamez6731 I think there is an Unreal Engine Marketplace addon for 2D games, also Godot is still an option, because it's actually good. The CEO probably hired the cheapest/first community manager and this is the result.

Why is there a "Community Manager" in the first place?
An entire community can't be managed. It's a community. It requires _everyone_ to have some level ground.
With Godot, that ground is the game engine, what it's capable of, where development is headed.
There is no room for unrelated politics there. Any efforts at using the name of the project for political efforts will only end badly.
Need to take control. Fire her/it, backhand her/it, and unblock people then post an apology with updates.... Or don't and let the engine go bankrupt. Your choice.
