Top notch review Peter of the most recognisable wagons on the current network in model form. I am looking forward to your next layout update video, so far it is coming along great. Stay safe and best regards Gary.

Hi Peter, I got mine a few weeks ago, not happy that mine had a bit of damage and a part missing underneath the wagon, no wand supplied in mine, I got straight onto them and told them about the issues, they sent parts within a day or 2, the wand will be sent out once they get them in stock.
I’m a big fan of Accurascale products, this experience has cheesed me off! Their quality control has let them down, I should not have received the wagon with the issue I had, not supplying batteries is massive letdown in my opinion, £75 for a product that should have a wand to aid operation, to not supply it is another letdown, I’m sure there will be some negative people saying it doesn’t matter, I say go boil your head to them! I will not buy another item like this from Accurascale again, great wagons by the way full of superb detail, let down by a manufacturing process that was incomplete and released without being checked, these wagons are not cheap, I’ve also seen videos of the axel boxes causing an issues with resistance where they are touching the bogies, I will sort that out myself, I suggest you contact them and get your wand, I can take the hit for the lack of batteries being supplied but I won’t take a hit for the wand, thanks for sharing.

The Bachmann nuclear flask wagons look bulletproof, no batteries or magnetic wand required, very expensive compared to the Accurascale offering, that’s Bachmann for you, but hey they’ve been out for many years, watch out for the RevolutionTrains nuclear flask wagons, I wonder how they will fair in comparison.

I was lucky that I had wands from previous releases, i won't bother to contact them, but would have thought wands would have been included with these as they were with the MK5s and HYAs and some others I think

Great review of these wagons here peter, definitely wagons that I may consider getting in the future as I would like to have a nuclear flask train myself.

I’ve don’t have any of these wagons, but I would like to have one or two with (if I can able to buy one) Class 68 loco to hauled them. I really don’t like the flask boxes being taken off to access’s the area for the batteries to turn on & off the flashing tale lamp. Still, brilliant wagon with great detail.
Excellent review of the models 👍

Cheers Joe, though you only need to take off the flask carrier to fit or change the batteries. A wand is used to turn on and off the flickering tail lamp

Hopefully this will mean that Backmann start charging a reasonable price for their old FNA wagons which are vastly over priced both new and second hand.

I have managed to find some Bachmann FNAs for reasonable prices before, but not recently

Might be worth contacting Accurascale. Good job I had wands from other releases

If you didn’t get a wand you should let them know, £37.48 each wagon, no batteries which is a cheap cost cutting move in my book, some may say shipping them would cause an issue, why couldn’t Accurascale Uk send the batteries out from their London based warehouse? Most batteries come from China these days anyway, funny they advertise the wands on their website for £2.49, not in stock at the Moment, I hope they up their game in future as there is no need for these issues to exist from a company like Accurascale.

Accurascale have just sent me a wand of their own accord, so they were probably just short at the time. 😊
