He seems like the type of to “playfully” touch his children. It is really creepy.
Edit: to clarify for SOME people. This playful touching isnt always sexual, but it still makes a child uncomfortable and crosses their boundaries. That was my original meaning behind my comment. Also I never meant that he does just that he reminds me of every person that has done this to me.. sexual or not. btw exposing children to sex is a pedophilic behavior that desensitizes a child to sex making it easier to groom them. Most sexual abusers of children are parents or uncles/aunts or cousins or step-family.

Groom showed up late to the ceremony visibly hung over with the most disinterested expression in the world as he delivered “vows” that sounded like a mixture of every nasty, misogynistic thing he could think of and some random shit generated by a bot. Reception wasn’t any better with the best man making a speech about how he and his friends thought my cousin was too fat for the groom before gesturing to the “better girl”- the woman who was bartending- the woman who was the groom’s ex girlfriend. There was a toast to the ex gf and not the bride and groom. Groom then got sloshed and attempted to assault my cousin outside the reception hall. Judging by your comment (and the fact you haven't made loads all over the page like trolls do) I am going to assume you are ignorant on abusive relationships, or more specifically how abusers work.
Abusers (or at least the smart ones) don't start the abuse straight away. At the beginning they act nice, overly nice (which is called love bombing) to make them appear really sweet so when they do start acting out (which will be slow and covert, not straight into the deep end) you question if you done something wrong, not them.
They gradually isolate you from your friends and family (assuming you have them in the first place, since abusers usually pick out those that are vulnerable) and put you in a position where you can't leave so easily (like they'll marry you, move in with you, baby-trapping).
They start gaslighting (which is lying in a way to make you seem like your misrembering things/going crazy). They play the victim, they neg (subtle back-handed compliments purposefully designed to lower your self esteem), they compare you to others.
Considering how far abusers go to 'hunt down' the victim and keep them 'in place' it's not really fair to claim that the victim chose them (since they weren't showing their true selves until long into the relationship) and considering many abuse victims grew up in abusive families they see the abuse as 'normal' or 'better than normal' because abuse is all they known.
Claiming that a young woman that was often beaten half to death almost daily by her parents when she was a child deserves to be with someone that punches her daily because 'she chose him' is pretty f*cked up. I know that's not what you are saying but a comment like 'you deserve who you choose' could be seen that way (by someone like the young woman in my example.)
Honestly I didn't need to write an essay about this but I really hate victim blaming. There's so much more to abusive relationships then a 'she chose the bad boy/he chose the bad girl' rhetoric.

There's am automatic cringe factor that's kind of impossible to avoid at a surface level observation. Which is maybe why it wasn't a good idea to whip out this sense of humor as part of the filmed vows and then put it on the internet, that's the kind of thing you say amongst friends in a more adult space if its really something everyone is cool with. I really sincerely hope we're all wrong and they were laughing about it the whole ride home, but the whole thing just seems so one sided and sad from what we do see. @jpeg.. personally I have some reservations that go beyond that, subjecting kids/ older folks present to this kind of language for one thing seems like a massive moral line to cross for a lot of people, not to mention he clearly didn't give anyone attendiany warning that this kind of thing would be discussed, giving any family members with kids the ability to choose notbto be involved with something like that. And since she didn't seem to be directly involved, people responded with pity because they wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt in the scenario. Plus, I doubt many people knew she publicly responded, especially since this video is their first time hearing of the situation. And it's always important to remember that although we have to be careful not to act like we know for certain what their private lives are like, it's not baseless to consider this kind of behavior a massive red flag. People are just doing their best to express kindness and support for someone who seems at least at a surface level to be a really kind person who dealt with a shitty situation. And just as we can't assume abuse is DEFINITELY taking place, we can't make the opposite assumption either based on the info we have. It's entirely possible for someone who is being abused to lie to defend their abuser, especially with this much public scrutiny on them. And its also entirely possible for someone who's being abused to not be mentally ready to come to terms with whats happening to them, so they block it down and push away those emotions and might genuinely think that all is well right now. I'm just weary of assumptions either way given the nature or emotional and mental abuse and how difficult it can be to spot until someone comes forward with proof either way.

the fact she knew he would've included models in his vows is so sad. I feel bad that she has to deal with his selfishness. Terrifying. Yes it's her journey, but there are also two afab children she has brought into the world of that man, speaking from the experience of being a child of a raging sexist, that part I do not find ok, no matter how conditioned and/or groomed she was.

Makes me grateful for where I'm at and kinda sad that I know first hand that you can't force someone to realize how much better things could be.
