This is the first really dark turn in the saga. Director Alfonso Cuarón was brought in for the tonal shift. And I still believe this is the best FILM in the entire series. And Jo Rowling's story is outstanding.
They also didn’t explain how and why Sirius escaped. The minister made a visit to Azkaban and Sirius asked him if he can have his newspaper. Sirius noticed the Weasley family picture who won a vacation contest to Egypt. Ron was holding Scabbers in the picture which Sirius immediately recognized. This fueled his desire for revenge which allowed him to turn into his Animagus form which was a dog. His realization that he’s innocent allowed him enough strength to counteract just enough of the dementor’s effect on his mind.
😂Lol 9:04 Lupin: "It's a Dementor. One of the guards of Azkaban...." Maple: "It's a guard of Azkaban?" Arianna: "Mhmm, that's what guards Azkaban, mhmm." Idk why that made me laugh lol
Amazing movie! Definitely the best of the series. This movie also has one of my favorite Sirius moments. When they're accusing Wormtail of betraying the Potters, and he's making excuses and says "What would you have done, Sirius?" And Sirius shouts "I would have died!"
fun fact, the motorbike hagrid rides at the very beginning of the first movie is from sirius. in the book he mentions that sirius lends it to him right after the thing happened at the potter home to get harry to savety.
My favorite detail left out of the films is that Lupin was attacked by a werewolf while enrolled at Hogwarts, and the other three “Marauders” taught themselves/became Animagi so he wouldn’t feel alone. Whenever “Moony” the werewolf changed, “Wormtail” became a rat, “Padfoot” became a black dog, “Prongs” became a stag, and they hung out together out as animals until he changed back in the morning.
Correction from one of your final comments, this was the director's only HP movie. They get a new one for Goblet of Fire, before finally getting the one that directs the last four starting with order of the Phoenix.
The thing that annoys me the most about this movie and the rest is how they did Ron dirty . Book Ron was someone who always stood up for his friends but also had his flaws and insecurities. Almost all his dialogue and scenes were given to hermione because the screenwriter was a big hermione Stan. When snape calls hermione an insufferable know it all, Ron stands up for her in the books, but the movie made him AGREE with SNAPE OF ALL PEOPLE. Ron was the one who originally faces sirius and stood up with one injured leg and says the line," if you're gonna kill Harry, you have to kill us too" but that line was given to hermione and Ron is just scared in the corner. I know I went off in a rant there but I had to because I love book Ron and fortunately we may see him in the new hbo reboot tv series.
In addition to Ron being "done dirty", they also wrote out Nearly Headless Nick completely from this film forward. I don't know if it was because John Cleese was unable or unwilling to reprise the roll or if the writers felt his character didn't move the story forward, but I LIKED HIM, DAMMIT!
We went from Elsa to the Grimm reaper to nazgul to demon qweef (just spelling it the way you said it 😂) to soul sucker. This scene is actually more important than most people think and something that is easily overlooked.
36:53 "When have [the Trio] been wrong, people?! We're 3 deep, now." I mean, they've been wrong about plenty of stuff. They've accused (or, at least, suspected) Malfoy and/or Snape of being the Big Bad repeatedly. As frustrating as it is as a reader/viewer to see people not believe them when we know they're right, they're definitely The Kids Who Cried Wolf at this point.
Every time I watch this movie I wonder what the hell Alan Rickman must have been thinking when he found out that he'd be in that disaster of an outfit with the hat and the stuffed vulture and the green dress and everything....
As fun as the movies were, they lost more and more of the nuanced background details like what Ariana was pointing out that made things like the Whomping Willow make sense.
Prisoners of Azkaban is not everybodies favorite, but its in everybodies top 3 for sure! I definitely watched this movie the most out of all of them. Though personally my favorite one is The Half-Blood Prince!
What I don't get about one particular scene in this movie was when Ron, his brothers and Hermione were so upset about Harry's broom being broken. In "Philosopher's Stone", we found out that Harry's parents left him a mountain of gold in Gringotts bank. He could buy new Nimbus 2000s for the whole school if he wanted and still be rich
I don't see how having money and losing something equate. My friend has enough money to buy a new car but I'd still feel bad for him if the car he has now gets totaled in an accident.
Honestly, I go back & forth on this & Goblet of Fire as my favorite. GOF book is my fav so maybe that’s why. All the movies are good…but 3 & 4 are the best
I prefer the book to the movie, but this is my favorite of the Harry Potter series. Also, fun fact: Harry improperly used a silencing charm on Marge, which is why she started expanding like a balloon. In the books, an improperly cast silencing charm causes the subject to bloat.
on revisiting this movie I wonder why it was so easy for Harry and Hermione to free Sirius from the tower cell? Why werent there any guards watching the "notorious mass murderer"? Why didnt the auroras apparate him to Azkaban immediately? They just left him totally unwatched? Just seemed WAY to easy lol, but movie has to movie.
Don't do my man Cuaron dirty like this! David Yates doesn't appear until OF, and there's Mike Newell before him! Yates's films are so bland, he is not able to pull off what Alfonso did, and he had 4 times more tries then Cuaron!
This is actually my least favorite Harry Potter movie. Mainly because they put a lot of stuff in the movie that's not in the book and they left a huge plot point out of the movie that's in the books. If I had never read the books and only seen the movie I'd probably like it more.

“Another day….another soul….crusheeedddd “🌳 This is the best reaction channel! 😂

Jail for whomever was shaping Harry's eyebrows in this film
FINALLY THEY REACTING TO THIS❤❤❤
Fun fact, Aunt Marge is the same actress who played the principal in the movie Matilda
This (Prisoner Of Azkaban) is the movie I’ve been waiting for you 2 to watch in Harry Potter
36:53 "When have [the Trio] been wrong, people?! We're 3 deep, now."

The used the thumbnail where Harry casted Expensive Petroleum instead of Expecto Petronum 😂
This is also my favorite movie of the series, it's so good! I'm happy to see Maple finally experiencing it with the masses.
As fun as the movies were, they lost more and more of the nuanced background details like what Ariana was pointing out that made things like the Whomping Willow make sense.
What a coincidence. The Perfect Mix have just reacted to this too.
Prisoners of Azkaban is not everybodies favorite, but its in everybodies top 3 for sure! I definitely watched this movie the most out of all of them. Though personally my favorite one is The Half-Blood Prince!
I didn't know what a "Hear Me Out" cake was - but Maple is certainly on mine.
wasn't it a hear me out kink?
You know that’s not a compliment, right 😅 it’s basically saying “I know this person is objectively repulsive, but hear me out…”
What I don't get about one particular scene in this movie was when Ron, his brothers and Hermione were so upset about Harry's broom being broken. In "Philosopher's Stone", we found out that Harry's parents left him a mountain of gold in Gringotts bank. He could buy new Nimbus 2000s for the whole school if he wanted and still be rich
I suppose it has sentimental value as his first Quidditch broom, and it was a gift.
I don't see how having money and losing something equate. My friend has enough money to buy a new car but I'd still feel bad for him if the car he has now gets totaled in an accident.
“So the trees not whomping right now?”
Be forever grateful Marge's knickers withstood the inflation.

sassy teen harry has entered the chat
This one is like the first one that gets dark. Plus the story is just my favorite! I love the characters! Other plot twists too! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
And darker the movies gets
Man you guys really spaced out these movies, any word on when the next one will be uploaded?
The reaction to the movies have like a month of space between them so wait the next one for March maybe idk 😂
@diegiesis does maple ship Harry and hermione?
0:50 LMAAAOO already so on point
A follow ACWW enjoyer 😏

Looking respectfully 👀
Owls don’t really poop
I mean they kinda shart but really they just yarp a pellet
Why does the channel have completely different reactors and a different name now? What did you do with the old ones?
What are you talking about? These two are the main reactors for the channel for a couple years now.
@@Jumpman67 Turns out it was a different channel, nvm.
Different actor real life died this movie they changed the actor
This is one of the few films with a developement of time travel done as it has to be done.
YASSSSSS
Maple, you look more hot today than usual
Arianna you are cute as hell too but im maple maniac lmao 😍
I’m curious as to if either of you two have played Hogwarts legacy?
