Honestly I was able to build Altina as a very effective mage in the game by just giving her some speed quartz as well as Sub quartz that increase your speed and let me tell you. When I did that she easily became my most damaging party member
Turned Musse into a mega caster with quartz set to give 0 delay on Mirage arts and the magic damage = EP absorb master quartz. Use Rean's no cast time brave order and cast Gallion Tower or Albion Wolf 6 times in a row to destroy all bosses. She carried my party through the last quarter of the game, one shotting all regular enemies without using up any EP and blowing away even the final boss with little effort.
Yeah, you basically nailed this list. I'm glad you mention accessibility though, since Aurelia's godly strength has exactly that limit. It's amazing (and probably not an accident of design) just how godly of a pair Juna and Kurt were. Juna will ensure you break the enemy at insane rate, while Kurt will ensure that you hold them there. And again, they were in your "main" party so to speak.
It's neither here nor there, but after watching your three TCS tier videos and seeing that you played them in English, it is beyond me how you still manage to mispronounce and misspell multiple names lol. In regard to your tiers... some of the only placements I could agree with were Millium, Rean, Alisa, Fie and Machias. Beyond that has me questioning how well you deep-dived into game mechanics and arcus orbment setups. Like other comments have said, one of the joys of this game is that you can pretty much make anyone useful if you set them up right! Interesting perspective nervertheless and thanks for sharing, contributing to the popularity of this awesome series all jrpg fans need to know about! 😍
All of these characters are God tier for me cuz i love them so much. If they lack in some aspect in battle it's really easy to adapt to their fighting styles and kick ass with them
Rean is good yes but I feel that he was heavily nerfed from CS2. His crafts cost a ton of CP and don't delay as much anymore which is extremely important early game especially if you started the game like me on Hard difficulty let alone the maniacs who start the game on Nightmare. Although I will probably play CS4 on Nightmare as well when it comes to Steam
Rean's Craft cost may be increased a bunch, but Motivate is essentially a Brave Order now, which is good, and his CP costs don't matter when he can get ridiculous CP gain (especially when paired with Alisa), and he gains CP anytime ANYBODY takes a turn, ally or enemy alike.
Yes Sara made God Tier! Love Sara I know you are into Emma but Sara not only has "that" her personality just makes me laugh that while surprising me at times by being cute/mature and she has an amazing backstory. Edit: Plus her outfit in this game is just fire.
I played on the easiest difficulty and I loved Musse. She was one of my favorite characters. Didn't notice any of the deeper strats cause I didn't need them. Literally just enjoyed the game for the story. She fell in my top 2. Loved that thirsty joke personality.
I made Altima my most powerful mage , maybe with Emma, and with the Right setup and master quartz , she has a decent speed . Definitely one of my most op units , and with her brave order I almost always keep my party unharmed
Well i solely focused on rean after chapter 1 And made him quite op I made him have 66% evasive Over leveled to use waterfall Domination Highest att Stat final was (1685) With brigid and minotauros as the Master quarts to deal high damage and recover high amounts of cp This setup along with spirit unification i basically ohkoed nearly the entire final dungeon
If I did it over again, I would focus less on the party members and just make Rean a one man show. The fact that nearly no character is consistent was rather irritating.
I disagree on Musse's brave order being useless. Combine her Brave order with a character that has chrono burst with high damaging attacks and you can win a most boss battles without them even getting a turn.
I remember Tio in the Crossbell games. She was my little artillery cannon that led the SSS to victory countless times. They massacred my girl with the unchangable loadout they gave her in Cold Steel 3 and 4. But in Trails into Reverie, you can fully customise her equipment and quartz again, and the artillery cannon is back in business!
Sara is definitely broken and the best waifu in the game but I still prefer Fie with high evasion and Rage Quartz + Sirius. Juna is also absolutely amazing and Alisa stays a staple no matter what for me. I kind of feel like she’s also good at giving me crits.
Really, at a certain point in the game, you can just cheese bosses by having Juna use Sledgehammer, and 3-4 party members S Break to put them in Break State + near death, then just just Lightspeed Flash with possibly the odd Chrono Drive or Chrono Burst in there (depending on Speed and Delay from attacks) to make it so they just...don't get a chance to come out of Break State.

I will agree that yuna and kurt were great add on to the team. I enjoyed them especially later on. But still laura is a beast. Put her up higher. Who cares about her speed she makes up for it definitely with her strength. This guy just love alissa i swear. Again shes my least favorite in the series i never use her. Unless u want cp but rean can do that too. Elliot should be moved down too i think. All he can do is heal as an ultimate wich i dont really care for. Emma got a huge upgrade as an ultimate. She sheilds u for 3 whole turns from any attack. I love using her in my team and is one of the characters i always have when i can. For my team its rean, laura, emma, gaius. I do enjoy uaving kurt and yuna in my team. For support i usually have at least one of them.
Everything you said about Machias is in Juna's character, let me explain Break damage: Juna covers 3 of the 4 types of attacks whereas Machias covers only 2 Acceleration: Machias has his Burst Drive and Juna has her Quick Star So what about brave orders? Sledgehammer into a stronger attack like Arcane Gale tends to be enough to break everything that's not a boss, and it costs 1 BP. Machias' brave order does not boost your break damage, just your overall damage for 2 turns each and the delay between attacks for 8 turns for 3 BP. Now I'm no mathmagician but I think it's better to break them with Sledgehammer and then just continuously spam Lightspeed Flash instead of giving 3 extra BP for a shorter attack time. Okay then let's compare the two's stats shall we? They both have average STR and HP, great DEF and ADF, and poor ATS and EP, so what is the difference? SPEED, whereas Machias is super slow (one of the slowest in the game) Juna can compete with many of the faster characters in that department, although she is the 4th fastest in New Class VII (Rean-Kurt-Musse-Juna-Altina-Ash) her speed isn't bad by any means. So why did you place Machias over Juna? Also Laura in Mid-tier when she can literally ONESHOT bosses? Come on man, even if she is as slow as a snail, if she ends the battle before the enemy moves that speed doesn't matter whatsoever.

With the right set up rean can be a one shot AOE god with his s craft as well as with the gladiator set and his master he can recover cp faster than anyone

Hey guys is the Vantage Masters really necessary to experience the best gameplay of TOCS 3? because I have been skipping this mini game for a while and I have been forced to play this on Chapter 3 in order to get the maximum AP in order to defeat Rutger with my personal deck, and the thing is, THAT THIS IS JUST MY SECOND MATCH BESIDES THE TUTORIAL SINCE THAT MATCH WITH THE KID, so my point is, should I restart all my playthrough and challenge all Vantage Master Players until this point, or should I just play with his borrowed deck and just get the minimum AP. I guess I may be biased, but I can just never bring myself to have Machias or Jusis tag along in the party if the game doesn't force me to, lol. There's honestly just a number of character's I'd rather use, for what it's worth.

tried joining Jusis and Machias with some other characters in the dungeon of dark dragon on my second playthrough and had a really hard time keeping all of the party members alive

To borrow a term from SRPGs: CS3 is particularly "Player-Phase Oriented" because of how dominant the Break strategy is. If executed correctly, defence/evasion stats become meaningless because you should never get attacked in the first place. Just from this, it can be argued that 'player-phase' characters like Juna and Machias are inherently superior to 'enemy-phase' characters like Fie.
TBH I rate Altina higher than Musse. Having tried many Master Quartz on both of them, Altina always had the higher Attack and Arts Attack between the two. Musse and Ash kind of felt like leftovers that weren't fully developed in the crafts department. Though I did like them as characters. Ash especially cause he was such an ass.
Musse is S tier for my her brave order + chrono burst is infinite break on enemy and its very low cost you can use normal attack to collect cp and brave point with chain link I think its very broken
Its very clear you never played Nightmare. I don't really blame you for not playing the highest difficulty, but the list is pretty much completely different on Nightmare difficulty.
for battle musse is the best I combat link her with altina put chronburst tatiana mq as secondary default water quarts and i then have infinite diamond novas and infinite turns
i am 90% against on ur choice of tiers. its just dependant on how u use them. other than leaving to chance on rng like lechter , pretty sure the only rng chara in cs 3 Muuse brave order isnt trash , its a cheese brave order especially for chara which has innate crit , u can basically generate bp for free using chrono burst for essentially free , 20 ep chrono burst is disgusting . Muuse also is like chloe except offensive , she is a extreme water arts user rather than versatile so yeah . She cast decently fast compared to extreme high dmg , this makes her more responsive than elliot as elliot may deal out 1.3x more dmg but he is 2.5x slower in casting and after cast delay . Altina is a time arts user , and she has detector and field advantage .This makes altina a broken chara as she guarantees triple advantage which is 20% hp gone off initial battle and 10 cp gain at start of battle . Her speed is slow at the start but at the end if u build her right she can be a sour blur spammer , lieterally she can cast 15 sour blur in kurt bo before bosses dies . Also millium bo is a cheap survivability brave order but not as good as elliot but better than altina, but she is good for the period of time she needs to be used . I do agree with tio that she is nerf but that 80 cp can usually get rean another scraft in shady situations while still able to survive slightly sharon instant death is also only for most non bosses , also her brave order is useless late game as its not that hard but not easy to get the setup needed for 100% evasion unless ur talking about magic evasion. kurt is a evasion tank but he cant counter due to range limitation and thats a big downer for him so he is better in the break and delay build rather than evasion tank sara bo i do agree but bp doesnt just drop for the sky (cough cough not 0 brave order turn )
Juna (range mode) Evade 100% 600% damage back on evade that shit deal 17k dmg on evade ..................... As for Fie Auto speed L with Analize item and 130+ speed and you will brake enemis left and right

I still don't get it why machias is so high up sure he can break the enemys pretty good but I leave that to Juna and Rean, and Kurt should be higher too with his quartz and high enough evasion he can deal devestating counterattacks and as for Altina-chan her starting quartz is shit I admit that but you just buy Oberon and make ellitos quartz her sub quarts and she heals just perfect also having her as team leader let you always stun enemies upfront in the game which makes it way more comfortable to trigger battles with double advantage also her weapon type has s tier ranking in blunt type only Millium has that too which lets you unbalance certain enemies way easier and she is cute af best daughter
How can Machius outrank Juna. Juna is just a better Machius. With her striker mode she can get close to the enemy to actually make use of her high defense, and she helps you break things better and she has a time barrier break craft too.
I just don't like Musse because I don't like being lied to. I'm well over halfway through with this game, and I feel everyone who knows her, knows her secret, but no one will talk about it, so everyone is lying to Rean, the one character in this game that needs to know the most. That is beyond frustrating to me.
hmmm... i dont use brave order that much.... i always (1 skill = dead) most bosses with rean using domination mars all +40 attack quartz primary gungnir 2nd gorz equipment all +100 str just use spirit unification give rean a zeram then s craft... damage can go upto 120k
Yeah….that final fight was the worst part of this game.....actually that entire dungeon....you start out with your beast squad only to lose members at each level till you get to the end....it was slightly rage inducing..
@@milesshaw9059 i actually liked the final dungeon design from an aesthatic standpoint. what really didn t sit well with me tho is how gaius got shafted away. i mean at first you don t have him with an S craft for the longest time you have him around and then he gets shafted in the first group. it is like everyone got a bit time to shine at "full power" for a bit if you wanted them too, except gaius. from the old class vii anyways.

Honestly, making a character tier list is about as useful as 2 pancakes. The game is so busted that you may as well not even make this video. Tompoint out everything wrong with this entire video would take literal centuries. And trying to make that rating objective, would take centuries. But saying that “yo lol everyone is horrible because you’re not downing bosses with magius + quad bells and super ats setups so as to kill the boss in under 2 minites, lol get out scrub” would be dumb because that defeats the good point of cold steel’s gameplay: you can use anyone and everything to win. Quad 2nd tier bells may be the fastest way of killing stuff, but why spoil everyone’s fun when you can use everything.
Wut?! Why is Fie not god tier waifu?! Sure, dodge tanks have become more accessible, but that's not what she's made for. She was made for counter striking. Minotarus + Sirius master quarts+ her long range = watch her counter nuke her enemy to oblivion! As for Alisa, once again, I question why she isnt god tier waifu. Aside from being extremely hot (I got a thing for blond girls), her heavenly gift allows the other members of your party to not invest in CP recovery and focus on their fortes. And why arent people singing praises to the all mighty 'Insight'? It adds 50% accuracy and evasion + 10% unbalance.... and Alisa gives this to those who get hit with the Heavenly Gift! Adding 50% more survivability to the entire party deserves atleast God Tier waifu status! And Alisa is smoking hot ^.^

Altina may be slow but her magic is pretty bad ass. With the right set up, she is pretty badass even if slow

Trust me, using Musse's brave order with chrono brust, then you will find that enemies cannot move even for a single turn
with altinas cp regen n heal craft and muse ep cost reduction. can loop 40 turns before the boss gets one lol. still need to finish cs4 platinum tho

i wish gaius was mid tear it would reflect his charackter very wel and it would be consistent in the series that was the sadest part of the list

Musse is S tier for my her brave order + chrono burst is infinite break on enemy and its very low cost you can use normal attack to collect cp and brave point with chain link I think its very broken
Its very clear you never played Nightmare. I don't really blame you for not playing the highest difficulty, but the list is pretty much completely different on Nightmare difficulty.
for battle musse is the best I combat link her with altina put chronburst tatiana mq as secondary default water quarts and i then have infinite diamond novas and infinite turns

i am 90% against on ur choice of tiers. its just dependant on how u use them. other than leaving to chance on rng like lechter , pretty sure the only rng chara in cs 3
Muuse brave order isnt trash , its a cheese brave order especially for chara which has innate crit , u can basically generate bp for free using chrono burst for essentially free , 20 ep chrono burst is disgusting . Muuse also is like chloe except offensive , she is a extreme water arts user rather than versatile so yeah . She cast decently fast compared to extreme high dmg , this makes her more responsive than elliot as elliot may deal out 1.3x more dmg but he is 2.5x slower in casting and after cast delay .
Altina is a time arts user , and she has detector and field advantage .This makes altina a broken chara as she guarantees triple advantage which is 20% hp gone off initial battle and 10 cp gain at start of battle . Her speed is slow at the start but at the end if u build her right she can be a sour blur spammer , lieterally she can cast 15 sour blur in kurt bo before bosses dies .
Also millium bo is a cheap survivability brave order but not as good as elliot but better than altina, but she is good for the period of time she needs to be used .
I do agree with tio that she is nerf but that 80 cp can usually get rean another scraft in shady situations while still able to survive slightly
sharon instant death is also only for most non bosses , also her brave order is useless late game as its not that hard but not easy to get the setup needed for 100% evasion unless ur talking about magic evasion.
kurt is a evasion tank but he cant counter due to range limitation and thats a big downer for him so he is better in the break and delay build rather than evasion tank
sara bo i do agree but bp doesnt just drop for the sky (cough cough not 0 brave order turn )
Juna (range mode) Evade 100% 600% damage back on evade that shit deal 17k dmg on evade .....................
As for Fie Auto speed L with Analize item and 130+ speed and you will brake enemis left and right

Use Rean, Yuuna, Kurt and Musse. Yuuna is your breaker, Rean and Kurt are speed builds and Musse is your caster. You’ll thank me in the end game.

I had no problem with altina in 3 and especially 4 she's definitely better in 4
I still don't get it why machias is so high up sure he can break the enemys pretty good but I leave that to Juna and Rean, and Kurt should be higher too with his quartz and high enough evasion he can deal devestating counterattacks and as for Altina-chan her starting quartz is shit I admit that but you just buy Oberon and make ellitos quartz her sub quarts and she heals just perfect also having her as team leader let you always stun enemies upfront in the game which makes it way more comfortable to trigger battles with double advantage also her weapon type has s tier ranking in blunt type only Millium has that too which lets you unbalance certain enemies way easier and she is cute af best daughter
Only thing I want from Juna is Sledgehammer.

How can Machius outrank Juna. Juna is just a better Machius.
With her striker mode she can get close to the enemy to actually make use of her high defense, and she helps you break things better and she has a time barrier break craft too.
I just don't like Musse because I don't like being lied to. I'm well over halfway through with this game, and I feel everyone who knows her, knows her secret, but no one will talk about it, so everyone is lying to Rean, the one character in this game that needs to know the most. That is beyond frustrating to me.

Yeah….that final fight was the worst part of this game.....actually that entire dungeon....you start out with your beast squad only to lose members at each level till you get to the end....it was slightly rage inducing..

That was upsetting too, I wanted to keep using A lot of the old class VII characters, so that stung a lot.
@@milesshaw9059 i actually liked the final dungeon design from an aesthatic standpoint. what really didn t sit well with me tho is how gaius got shafted away. i mean at first you don t have him with an S craft for the longest time you have him around and then he gets shafted in the first group. it is like everyone got a bit time to shine at "full power" for a bit if you wanted them too, except gaius. from the old class vii anyways.
@@milesshaw9059 Yeah, I know what you mean. I've always felt the Cold Steel series as a whole is just as much OG Class VII's story as it is Rean's, so seeing them just get put in the backseat while the game expected me to be fine with it, always bugged me.

The game is so busted that you may as well not even make this video.

And trying to make that rating objective, would take centuries.
But saying that “yo lol everyone is horrible because you’re not downing bosses with magius + quad bells and super ats setups so as to kill the boss in under 2 minites, lol get out scrub” would be dumb because that defeats the good point of cold steel’s gameplay: you can use anyone and everything to win.
Quad 2nd tier bells may be the fastest way of killing stuff, but why spoil everyone’s fun when you can use everything.

As for Alisa, once again, I question why she isnt god tier waifu.
Aside from being extremely hot (I got a thing for blond girls), her heavenly gift allows the other members of your party to not invest in CP recovery and focus on their fortes.
And why arent people singing praises to the all mighty 'Insight'?
It adds 50% accuracy and evasion + 10% unbalance.... and Alisa gives this to those who get hit with the Heavenly Gift!
Adding 50% more survivability to the entire party deserves atleast God Tier waifu status!
And Alisa is smoking hot ^.^
