Noble’s dancing was cringe because it looked like a minstrel jig. Nevertheless, my eyes never focused on his crotch. I want him to never ever ever do that dance again tho lol Making inappropriate comments under people’s posts/thirst traps have become the norm on social media. I agree with you tho. There’s nothing good being treated like an object. Our ancestors were owned as if they were property so I will never understand why some Black/Biracial men enjoy being fetishized. I guess they love the attention.
Ding, ding, ding! Johnie said what needed to be said. I wanted to be nice with Noble since he's younger than me (I believe), but the dancing is giving minstrel show. His facial movements made it worse. Shaking my head.
@@JulianSteve I noticed that too. He was intentionally dancing like that for the amusement of his non-Black teammates and that disturbs me. Someone need to pull him up and teach him about African American history for real. I like your new hair cut btw 😃👍🏿
I instantly subscribed after watching your Donald Glover video! I really love your channel! I agree with you. When I saw the video I didn't even think people would be looking at his crotch area. Instantly I thought about minstrelsy. If he had done any other dance moves I would have thought of something else lmao. I do hope Noble didn't read the comments because I would be mortified. I know there are black men (such as yourself) who do find things like this dehumanizing, but there are a handful of black men that put non-black women on a pedestal and like being fetishized. Like, they don't find any issue with white women saying they want a mixed baby and want black men only for their penises, because their self-hate is so deeply ingrained. Black men have been starved of actual appreciated by the world that they think that's genuine affection and praise. It's so sad. But don't get me wrong, us black women have a part to play in this too.
Thank you so much, Anastasia! I worked so hard on the Donald Glover video. I had to take a bit of the “Champagne Papi” episode out due to a copyright claim recently. I am still fighting for me to make money off of that video. Sorry for the long tangent lol! As for what you said on this video, it’s so true! We thought the same thing about Noble’s dancing choice. It never crossed my mind that’s what people were thinking. As for the fetishization of Black and mixed with Black men with non-black women is so true! Some Black men think it’s okay. It’s not and I hope they realize that sooner than later. Otherwise, I’ll keep pointing it out whenever I get a chance online (reality too)😅!
Thank you so much for sharing your observations and insights. I'm not Black and videos like yours are much need and very educational. It's so scary where the minds of those people can go when they have that default way of viewing Black male bodies in their heads. I only see the first guy dancing, and I could recognized that it was a... problematic dance, for sure, but I'm not Black, so it's not my place to judge, and I thought whatever he does, it's up to his own decisions. When you put that in context of who he was dancing for, it makes a lot more sense. I just feel so bad for these "student athletes", knowing the system they're trapped in, always having to put this job with no pay and no insurance first. And then they have to see comments like this about them on social media. It must be so uncomfortable, not to mention likely psychologically and emotionally damaging, for people so young to hear these things said about them. I hope they have someone by their side to pull them through. Your direct proposal on what we as bystanders can do is very helpful 💕 actionable items are definitely something we need in hope rectify the situation.
I love this video! You always outdid yourself Julian ❤ I agree with you 100 percent on everything. The fact that people fetishized and just being perverted is so wrong and can be uncomfortable. Then there are some folks that joke too much too so no one takes thing serious nowadays its just messed up 😭 you already know how I feel about the human race LMAO. And I agree that those type of people love fetishized Black people because I see it in my daily life and even I go through it myself which I find it gross.
Thank you for your comments, sista! I do think having these discussions are important, especially in our community. Some Black and mixed with Black folks think this is normal. It’s not. Being a fetish is not a flex😢
You are so right Baby Girl 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 A lot of people like to show off their bodies on social media. Just because someone post themselves half naked online it doesn’t give folks the right to post inappropriate comments.
I dont live in the U.S and I've always found the sexualization of athletes as extremely strange. But from the outside looking in, the culture of America in itself seems extremely sexual. I wonder if most Americans even realize.
So happy your video got recommended to me!!! Edit: I know it's not the topic of the video but I 'd love to hear your thoughts on Lido Pimienta, She's making great music and a lot of anti-colonial media
I will not be sit here and lie ive had my moments like the ppl in the comments of those types of vids espically like the ones in first one , but i realized how can i be againt the same happening to women for literally existing but not for men espically black men and darksikn black men , it wold have been one thing if they were purposefully sexuallizing them selves but they were just dancing and working out . Im glad i came across this vid i realy love your channel for educating me as a 2nd gen west african (sadly american) .

That is the saddest “yeeeah he was dancing” I’ve ever heard. This same thing happened to one of Mr. London’s workout videos…
what, your video actually being on my recommendations upon release? I'm glad the algorithm stopped acting up XD excited for this one

Do a video on double standards
Like how men are body shamed when nudes are leaked and women are seen as victims

Someone once said in a comment about male black athletes, there is a white coach, then almost all black athletes that look like ownership.
