I honestly cannot believe I was able to finish editing this video today. I currently have a fever and feel like crap. Well, I’m better than yesterday, so that’s good news. Anyways, thank you for tuning in. Be sure to checkout the description for additional information. Thanks🙃👍🏾📌
Afrolatinos like Amara la negra are so underrated it would be refreshing to see non black Raggaeton artists share their platform to lesser known afrolatino artist. The Latin community has been heavily influenced by African music . Like cumbia , salsa ( Celia Cruz being a pioneer of that genre), and merengue. Afrolatinos contributed a lot to Latin music. Give them their flowers 💐
I really appreciate your comment, Ladybug! Afro-Latino recognition and support is a must! This would’ve been a nice gesture from non-Black Latino artists, but most of them want to gate-keep. Their music half of the time needs extra sazon!
Bad Bunny and Drake are one and the same to me. They have me so conflicted because I like their music but each have problematic things about them. The first time I saw Bad Bunny with braids was for that Cheetos commercial. It took me aback too plus the style didn’t look right on him. It was a no for me. When it comes to his music I feel Bad Bunny shows genuine appreciation to the genres he uses to create his music. Nevertheless, it does bother me that he has never publicly addressed issues of racism and colorism within America and Latin America. Bad Bunny has been very bold and vocal for his support of the LGBT community so it confuses me why he hasn’t been as vocal on issues Black folks especially Afro-Latinos face. He probably doesn’t want to grapple with the fact that he is privileged having the complexion, phenotype, and features he has. In his mind he probably sees himself as just as marginalized as Afro-Latinos when in reality he isn’t. I’m not fluent in Spanish but sonically and vocally Bad Bunny’s music is top notch. I’ve been blown away since his debut album and he keeps getting better. I hope he speaks up more about racism and colorism because he is performing and capitalizing off of music created by Black folks and Afro-Latinos.
Thank you for sharing this, Johnie. As much as I like Drake, I agree with your analysis on him. He’s like Bad Bunny and ironically they collaborated recently. I do think Bad Bunny doesn’t want to admit the privilege he has over Afro-Latinos. He rather be obtuse than admit to be a culture vulture. I however do see that he appreciates the Reggaeton genre. However, he doesn’t put on more Afro-Latino artists. He rather collaborate with non-Black Latinos who are mainstream like himself. Then, his questionable aesthetics😅…
You’re very pleasant to watch, kind and polite it’s refreshing in a RUclips where often commentators try to be as noticeable as possible. I applaud your bravery for speaking on an issue that very few are brave enough to speak on, keep doing you.
It definitely comes across like he doesn't wanna risk losing any audience by voicing a strong stance on colorism and racism within latin communities, especially within music industry. Which only confirms the why, of me not being able to get into the music. The art reflects him and 👀 yeah, it comes across like poser behavior.
Yes! We’re on the same page. I am not saying that Bad Bunny’s not talented, but he sure is not my cup of tea. That’s why I still do not want to be a consumer of his music like that🎶
Completely agree! I’ve always been rubbed wrong with some of his “fashion” choices, plus his thoughts on race after his collab album with J Balvin who had his own questionable music video with black women on leashes. Looking forward to your next video!
I dont even think he's a mestizo. The indigenous component is too small in Puerto Rico for him (or Puerto Ricans on average) to be a mestizo. He's a white latino (there are Mediterranean people who look like him). He is doing what he has been taught how to do.
My older sister thinks that he’s a White Latino too. She was so confused when Meleny (the TikToker) referred to Bad Bunny as mixed-race (mestizo). Now that you break it down like this. I think you’re right😅💯
Yeah I can’t deny his talent; but yeah it’s the same, I don’t feel comfortable. It’s hard with artists…they write such great music but when their actions show who they are…it’s so disapppinting.

@@immateriaIboy Thank you so much! I am 50/50 still. Almost myself again😭💯
I apologize for missing the premiere. I wasn’t home. I hope you feel better 🙏🏿
@johniebaltimore me too like I feel bad
@@johniebaltimore It’s fine, Johnie! As long as you watch it whenever you get a chance, we’re good. Thanks for your support🙂💯

@@JulianSteve you are so right. He was the one that really put Rosalia on and gave her some credibility. Now I’m even more confused about him 😫

“Is bad bunny Afro Latino?” “In what planet?” Haha fr

I’m glad someone also agrees with me. Never understood the hype around him. I always felt like I was the only one.

He's evil
As a former Latin Urban artist.... he's never been style. His lyrics are so vulgar. Even for reggaeton standards

Thank you so much for commenting this! I should’ve mentioned J Balvin’s dusty ass. I forgot about him while I was researching😅💯

LOVE non puertoricans explaining our racial dynamics to us, really cool and fun
It’s not complicated everyone knows you have anti black racism in your country
I was watching the kardashians, and I share the same concerns with the kids 😳

First 15 seconds you lost me
