My Budgies *_loved_* the vacuum cleaner sound!
My two males would try to vocalize louder than the vacuum and each other.
It was hilarious to hear them warbling over the machine, and when I switched it off, they'd kept singing a minute or two.
Then they'd look around, suddenly all confused, as if to ask, "Where did the sound go!?" 😂😅

Number one is so true! In the mornings, when I need to leave, and I'm in a hurry, if I try to put my bird away quickly, he gets anxious and flies away. I have to approach him like it's any other day, and he is okay going right back into his cage.

About the loud noise. My tiel is so odd. He loves the sound of gunfire for some reason. So I’ll usually leave war movies on while I’m gone. My family jokes that it’s because he’s a rescue and hates humans, but we’re pretty sure it’s because he use to live in a laundry room so the banging reminds him of the washer and dryer. However he hates suppressed guns, so if I’m playing a shooter while he’s in the room I have to take my suppressors off or he’ll start freaking out. Like he will sleep to gunfire! I’ve never heard of tiels doing that.

I have an Orange Winged Amazon. One of my friends came over who is scared of birds in general. After a few hours of hanging out, he asked if he could pet my parrot.
I told him he can try, and that he needs to understand that he might bite the snot out of him. But under no circumstances could he get physical if that happened.
He behaved and so did my bird. He said it helped him not be so afraid.

I agree that birds were meant to fly, and I give mine the opportunity to fly whenever possible. However, I disagree about wing clipping. I have a cockatiel that I try to keep his wings clipped - for his own safety. I neglected to keep a close watch on his flying ability on two occasions and it cost him two toes. We would be sitting together on the couch having a good time when something would frighten him. He left me and headed for his cage. The problem is that he did not fly to his cage, but headed for my sun conure's cage. In less than 2 seconds my sun conure attacked my cockatiel when it landed atop his cage. We are only talking about 15 feet from the couch to the cage, but before I could jump from the couch to the cage the damage had been done. My sun conure had bitten my poor cockatiels toe so badly that I had to have a vet amputate it. You would think that the cockatiel would have learned from this experience, but this scenario repeated itself a 2nd time months later. You would expect the cockatiel would go to his own cage which is about 10 feet from the sun conures cage, but no, he always goes to the sun conures cage. I had not been vigilant and allowed his wings to grow too much. Same scenario - he left me and flew to the sun conures cage again, and ended-up losing a 2nd toe. Since that time I keep a very close watch on the length of his wings and clip them when necessary. He can still fly horizontally for about 10 feet, but he cannot gain altitude to land atop the sun conures cage. My cockatiel is happy and healthy (minus 2 toes) even though he cannot fly. I clip his wings for his own safety. Sometime this needs to be done.

We have done a training clip to all 12 of our parrots. Over 35 years I have seen too many "humane" owners watch helplessly as their bird flew out the door. They will usually not survive as they don't know how to find food, or the weather kills them, or predators. Not worth it, IMO. Our birds are happy.

I usually clip my bird's wings when they are young, and they grow back after a while. During this time they usually learn that the windows are solid before they can fly into them. But I agree, never continuously clip their wings, birds deserve to fly.

I agree - Always be patient and loving to your little friend(s). Your home should be a tranquil place. All arguments should be taken to another room!
BTW - I went to check out the channel, but I don't think I'll subscribe. The images of the other videos showing the abuse of budgies are simply _horrifying_ and made me nauseous (and possibly flared up my PTSD). Anybody, kids included, who'd be that cruel to those innocent, affectionate little birds are downright evil.

Clipping is not that bad. The feathers grow back and if you clip only 3 or 4 primary feathers on each wing the bird will fly but only on short distances. And it can stay free in the house and reach only safe places. And outside it can't get lost. Only some short free fly. Then back to me or the cage.

Clipping wings part is SOOO untrue in my experience. Your bird will love you even if you clip their wings. Clipping is for safety reasons and I would only suggest you do it during the summer when the fans are on and your bird is at risk of flying towards them (which they do).
Not clipping them is fine as well if there are no safety hazards. Birds are meant to fly but tamed birds aren’t like wild birds. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
