I have been an ebay clothing seller as my main income since 2001. I am fast approaching age 50!!! Anyways- no one is killing it reselling. It’s a hustle and all resellers will hit a plateau. Hence so many turn to making youtube videos, because if that gets monetized then it can be a secondary income stream….but- even that is a lot of work (as you know). Reselling is great being a Mom. I can make some money and be there for my Daughter. I would rather be low income (which I am), but be present for my child than have a much bigger income but be away at a 9-5 type job. You are doing great! And even as a seasoned reseller, I am not too cocky to say, I have learned from you…and some of the younger reselling Ladies (here on youtube). This is a job that you will always have to keep up with trends and new labels/designers. Congrats on your reselling success! And sure hope you have Children, you seem like you would be an excellent Mom.
Agree so much! I started reselling because of the flexibility of it. I'm a stay at home mom first. Any extra money that comes from reselling is a blessing. If it starts to get too big for me and consumes my time and energy, I scale back.
I do wash everything except NWT simply because even if it’s clean when donated, it all gets dumped in the same bins to be sorted. So clean donations are all in with *ahem* unclean ones. 😂 Thank you for all the info you shared in this video! Super helpful!! 😊
Absolutely! I don’t know where all those clothes have been and I just feel better about selling clothing I KNOW is clean. NWT I put in the dryer with DRYELL. Tags stay in great condition and they come out fresher. Just my quirky nature I guess 🤷🏻♀️
I was so happy to hear you say you don't always get to listing every day. Neither do I! No matter how hard I try to, it just doesn't always happen. I see some of the other sellers say to have a backlog of drafts. Excuse me, but if I can't even get to listing every day, when the heck am I supposed to make up drafts!!?? 🤣 Thank you so much for your videos. They are SO helpful to me and my business! Also, which camera do you use for photos?? I use my phone right now, but I have to edit EVERY photo I take, and it's taking me forever to do that.
Sometimes as a seller if someone disputes a piece I sold to them, ( has rarely happened) I really took it hard and obsessed about it until I reminded myself of the many positive reviews I have received and stopped focusing on a few customers who sometimes are just trying to game the system or just could never be satisfied
I would love to hear more about taxes and how you estimate what you have on hand in ventory for taxes. I've been watching you since you lived in Maryland at that time I had no clue you were from Indiana. Also I would love to hear your story about how you guys decided to host an exchange student and what she has brought to your lives. I know she seems really shy but people's stories interest me.
Thank you so much for all the wonderful information you share! I just started taking my reselling more seriously and you are my favorite resource 🫶🏻 Would love if you did a deeper dive on the LLC setup, taxes, etc.
Thank you, Rebekah! It takes a ton of guts to put yourself out there again and again. I am a newer reseller and I throughly enjoy your content. Wishing you a profitable week ahead! ❤
I have the same thought on washing things!! Do you have POTS? I do. I love that you can lay in bed and work. Take time you need off during flares etc. I would LOVE to hear more about the taxes!!! Its such a zone no one wants to talk about. None of it makes any sense or makes reselling worth time and effort “IF” I don’t BS. Like make $10,000. Pay $3,000 in taxes. Pay for items and extras. Make like 2 cents an hour. Made up numbers but making less than I made babysitting when I was 12 when said and done. Anyways, I always watch you while I’m listing! Thank you for all the info.
I love you… You have helped me so much with learning brands… And I like that you are so real and so down to earth… I do find myself comparing to other resellers… But I am currently redoing my inventory and starting to pick up more sort out brands… And I’m gonna be weeding a lot of stuff out of my current inventory that just isn’t selling or even getting likes
I’m just getting my posh closet up and going again after several years off. Basically because I need to declutter my own closet but I’ve been taking a deep dive this weekend into RUclips videos and running across your channel makes me breathe a sigh of relief. I absolutely love your perspective. I think there are probably more people who feel the way you do regarding not wanting to have a warehouse and employees but to be able to have a reselling business that brings in some income. Well done!!!
Just wanted to let you know that I started watching you from the beginning of my reseller journey and you have helped me SO much! Thank you for taking the time to make all these videos ❤
for I find it helpful to keep a lot of drafts so I can be consistent as much as possible. I try to list 10 a day so having drafts ready to go is very helpful and saves time.
I really appreciate your videos, I'm a longtime subscriber and I sometimes rewatch your videos because don't find every reseller RUclips video interesting. Thank you for putting great content for us ❤
Ah!! Thank you for reading my comment about the Victoria Secret sets🤣🤣 when I heard you say that in one of your videos I was like 4 year old inventory that isn’t a high end piece is wild 😩 love your videos and have learned a lot even though I don’t resell anymore. Keep up the good work 🖤
THANK YOU ❤.....You are truly gifted and knowledgeable. You can see that you're working beautifully in ur calling and enjoying it. Awesome video today!
Hey girl, hey! ❤ thanks for this video! Just a side note, eBay’s policy requires us to wash preowned clothes prior to posting on their platform. Keep being amazing!!
Thank you for all of this information! Question about Vendoo- if I end a listing & sell similar on eBay or Delist & Relist on Posh, will the sales detection still work? I would think the identifying info would be different at that point.
You are doing a fantastic job. My teen daughter and I resell together in Central Indiana. We love, love, love your videos. They are extremely helpful to us. Please don't stop.
Great video!! Managing my ever growing inventory and the clutter it creates in our new home and garage is very frustrating to my family and stressful for me.. I struggle with daily listing. I am selling well via many different platform online and locally, but my inventory is out of control. 😬😵💫
Thank you, Rebekah! As a part-time newish reseller, I found this very helpful! Most importantly, your health struggles are similar to mine, and you showed me how to work with that instead of pushing yourself to exhaustion. I’m so glad one of my reseller friends recommended your videos!
Great video Rebekah! I'm old enough to be your grandmother but started reselling less than 2 years ago to keep the old brain working! It's a hobby for me but definitely takes up more time than I thought it would. I turned my guest bedroom into my Ebay room which I keep clean and organized but honestly, it still drives me crazy. I am a true Virgo! lol Thanks for your helpful info and have a great week! You are so so cute! ;)
You ARE growing your channel, Rebekah. I’m a pretty new subscriber & I’m watching your backlog of videos almost every single day. I can tell you you’re absolutely being yourself, & just sharing your daily life with us. Loving getting to know you ❤
Thank you, Rebekah. I am in the process of building up my inventory. I am pretty sure I have plenty of items. I'm in the process of getting my systems in place. I do not really have the space in my house to have a whole room to commit to my re-selling business. You have been very helpful.
This was super helpful. Question for another time.... I list only on ebay, but am thinking about adding Poshmark. How do you decide what to list where? Do you list for different age groups on different sites? I REALLY appreciate your videos!
I find, the problem with selling from your own closet is not efficient enough because if they are older pieces no one wants them (happening to me). Poshmark went from closet clearing from your own stuff to "MOST SOUGHT AFTER ITEMS" which to me means more new items. It's crazy!! 🤪 Now many people are out buying new with tags items for resale. Also, seems like to do well, you have to be on social media to be found because there are so many resellers you are a little rock in the mountains. Just my thinking. Don't forget, sell cheap! Don't know about anyone else's thoughts. 🤷🏼♀️
Throw all the clothes in your bathtub and add detergent. This will show you it is NOT clean. Not being judgmental, just sharing. It is eBay policy that you wash it, so I wash it all but NWT
@@brigidmartin3877 She is not being a Karen. Resellers sell their items at retail prices. So yes, they should wash the clothing. Hi Rebekah, I commented yesterday but can’t see my comment on the thread. Was asking which Goodwill outlet you like best in your area?Planning our first trip to Indianapolis and thought you could let us know the best area for the Goodwill Outlet to visit. Thanks for any suggestions. Toy
I am here for the tax questions...is it really worth it to be a reseller?-do you make any profit after declaring all that you have made over the year?Very curious....thinking about maybe getting into selling on ebay...thanks.
You have wonderful videos, very honest, helpful and genuine in your personality and that shines through. I will always watch your latest video as soon as it shows up. Oxoxoxox
Hi Rebekah, I have a question for you. At what point did you start using Poshmark virtual assistants and/ or cross listing app? I want to sign up but still a little apprehensive that it’s not worth it for me financially. Thank you!
Do you send offers to watchers or wait until watchers send you an offer? I understand it on items that have been sitting awhile. Just wondering how you approach it.
😅I buy from sellers who have steamed the clothing, wrapped it in tissue and then packaged as if you bought it at an online shop. I feel like they are taking care of the things I buy. I don’t know if this helps you or not. Plus could you leave a link to where to see your items on eBay and PashMark?
Ugh are you the awful person who gave me 4 stars for not doing pretty packaging? Rebecca has stated many times that a huge part of the reason she is a reseller is to save the planet. Adding more plastic is the opposite of that. If you want stuff in plastic buy it new and leave us alone
You shouldn’t admit to not at least spot cleaning all the clothes, I doubt technsports or daily refinement washed every item BUT they sure as heck told everybody that they washed everything. Might wanna do that to save yourself
