I taught elementary school in Maryland for a bit in Prince George's County. I'm a white dude from Southern California and it was weird seeing entire counties segregated by race. I lived right next to the school where I taught and I was the only white dude in the town. Everyone was really nice to me though. I loved my doctor who was from Nigeria. He was such a caring professional. I also liked the fact that it was really close to Virginia and Washington DC. The students were pretty much all black and I was impressed with them. They were good kids. It was definitely a trippy experience though. The racial stuff out there is through the roof and it's so unfortunate.

I live in New Jersey so I’m speaking from experience living in the northeast. White & black folks don’t live together we observe each other from a distance. Philadelphia is 20 minutes from me. I work there. That city is segregated. You literally can drive one block over from the Italian neighborhood into the black neighborhood or whatever races you want to choose there’s no intersection. Wild I live in northwest Ohio and it’s definitely not loud and proud here. No one is out there saying that word…and it’s pretty equal as far as ratios. However, outside of Columbus, Cleveland (Akron and Youngstown included), Cincinnati, Toledo and Dayton Ohio is pretty rural, and I can see the rural areas being pretty backwards. It’s very white, very Christian, very conservative and not diverse at all once you leave the metropolitan areas.

I live in northwest Ohio and it’s definitely not loud and proud here.
No one is out there saying that word…and it’s pretty equal as far as ratios.
However, outside of Columbus, Cleveland (Akron and Youngstown included), Cincinnati, Toledo and Dayton Ohio is pretty rural, and I can see the rural areas being pretty backwards.
It’s very white, very Christian, very conservative and not diverse at all once you leave the metropolitan areas.
It is all just pattern recognition and self preservation.
