      I'm glad you liked it. Truth be told, when I first used this base in my original playthrough, I didn't even look at the stills and wound up treating it like any other base. Too bad there aren't more bases like this one that have some kind of theme to them that sets them apart from other more ordinary bases.

      Absolutely hilarious bro the way you speak is almost identical to the way I approach things, probably why I found it so GD entertaining. so to sum up it was Entertaining, Informative and lucrative. pretty much the necessity for a BA SOD2 video and just the base I was looking for. almost had to change my shorts a couple times while watching, this is a good and a bad thing but mostly good. then the major bonus to hear you like me were an EQ fanatic from way back (Still login from time to time to reminisce). This is probably the most fun base I've claimed so far due to how interactive it is compared to other bases. That doesn't mean it is strictly the BEST base, but it is certainly a fun one to operate out of. There's only 1 base left in Meagher Valley... and that is the titanic 8-man base, Whitney Field. Will this final home base be the capstone of the Meagher Valley, or will it be just be a titanic let down?

    This is an amazing Influence maker, but there is one flaw in the video. Never buy the rucksacks of food. If you buy them from a trader at 175 each (or even later on I saw an enclave that had one for 125) it is a loss instead of a profit. It takes 3 rucksacks to make 4 beer. Even at 125 a pop that is 375 to buy 3 food rucksacks and only get 136 influence worth of beer from it. Using excess food that is found or produced is fine as it costs you nothing and does make a pretty healthy profit. Anyways man, I love all your content for SoD 2. Super informative and super fun to watch!

    • @GitGudFox
      @GitGudFox  4 года назад +1

      You will profit at the price of 125 (allied sale) as it flips the resource into 136 though it isn't a massive profit. The real flaw of this video is that it is obsoleted by the "strong painkillers" method which is the best flip in the game for influence right now.
      I demonstrate it in my latest playthroughs of SoD2. Return to SoD2 and SoD2 Juggernaut Edition.

    Revisiting this. This is the video that I would want UL devs to see the most. The synergy of this base with the Trader path and Builder Boon allows for the highest degree of optimization in the game. It is an example of how SOD2 has the potential to deliver unique and highly entertaining emergent gameplay. Unfortunately, it really is the only such synergy of Leadership paths, Boons, and Bases in the game. It allows for a degree of optimization that is so far ahead of anything else in SOD2 that it almost feels like a different game. It makes the combination of Trader path, Builder Boon, and this base seem vastly over powered. But I really don't see it as overpowered so much as I see any other combination of Leader Path, Boon, and Base as under powered.

    QUESTION: what happens after you make more beer after you dry out all the allies from their money? Or is that just essentially the max experience you'll get from doing that process? Or maybe just wait for/request a new enclave?

    • @GitGudFox
      @GitGudFox  5 лет назад

      Your allies get another 500 influence per day, and the more allies you generate, the more instances of 500 influence per day you can obtain. You can also sell to the periodic wandering merchants and the more exotic mysterious merchants who come with 1500 influence. You can also call in merchants with the Trade Depot (though this costs influence to do). If you need more allies, there's a radio command to find more allies. It's bundled with the "find resources" radio command.

    If you somehow get a bar tending survivor, you can double your influence gains. I think the Alcoholic enclave works as well - you just need to have “Knowledge of Alcoholic Beverages”. It pretty much gives you an extra beverage that has 100 influence every time you brew beer, so not only can you sell bear, but you can sell this extra beverage as well.

    • @GitGudFox
      @GitGudFox  5 лет назад

      The way you know that the beer has a higher value than the whiskey is because the beer is unique to Squelones' Brewery. All ordinary stills can make whiskey but only Squelones can make craft beer.

      When having "Knowledge of Alcoholic Beverages" you gain +1 unique trade item. So when making Craft Beer you get 4 Craft Beer and 1 Barleywine per still. For Whiskey you get Bourbon, for the Brewery you get Barleywine when making Craft Beer. So per still you gain 238 influence(136 for 4 Craft Beer and 102 for 1 Barleywine), or 102 for beer and 306 Barleywine per stack(luckily barleywine does stack in 3 even when on character).
      While I haven't checked whiskey, but my assumption is that the bonus trade item is of higher value.

      @knightmare1267 6 лет назад

      *136

    • @GitGudFox
      @GitGudFox  6 лет назад +1

      It's 125 influence to buy food rucks from an Allied Trader (they give you a discount). It's 175 influence to buy food from a non-allied trader (default price). The still spits out 4 packs of beer at a time, and each beer is worth 34, so it spits out 136 influence. That said there will be spillover food from each rucksack giving between 4-6 food, so some of the food will roll over into the next batch of beer.
      It's only "pure profit" if you dig it up yourself, but the 75 influence call-ins are certainly the best result. The trade post call-ins also have a fairly long cooldown of 40 mins, so you'll still have to drum up food from additional sources.
      I think the main value here is burning excess food that you get from just helping random survivors or looting combined with any food surplus from farms. It means you could just ask for food every time a quest gives you the option and multiply your profit because a food rucksack sells for 60 influence.

    • @GitGudFox
      @GitGudFox  6 лет назад +1

      Also the call-ins from the Brewmaster enclave also comes with a luxury item than can be worth between 34 and 102 influence, so sometimes the food call-in literally pays itself off and then some. It also can outrun the speed of the trader as the trader has 3 rucksacks every 40 mins while the call-in is 1 rucksack every 9 mins.

    So I happened upon this video and decided to give this, plus GGF’s craft beer brew-n-sell technique out.
    I’m now having to call in supply drops and vehicles to stop my Influence from hitting the cap. It’s amazing how quickly you’ll get filthy rich if you put in the work and risk the noise.

    It seems I've officially hit a wall. I have ammo, but no guns. I still have two plague hearts to take out, one of which is amongst four infested houses that in close proximity. My facilities keep breaking down due to a lack of materials. I lost water and power due to a lack of fuel, which is due to the water tower and power substation outposts. I have two farms, a garden and a command center that I'm unable to upgrade. The only remote positive in this scenario is that I still have a car...which needs to be repaired, and I think I only have one toolkit left. It's weird. I didn't have anywhere near this much difficulty maintaining my base and community in the original, but in the sequel, just when I think I'm on the road to recovery, I hit another wall. It's a neverending cycle. I lose my resources faster than I can gather them and the members of my community become frustrated or threaten to leave within minutes of each other. I'm at the point where I want to throw up my hands and say "fuck it." I don't know how you managed to get yourself to the point of self-sufficiency, but good on you.

      Well, it means you have to trim back until you're self sustaining then expand.
      You can build a staging area to negate daily material upkeep.
      Make outposts to reduce resource losses.
      When you get some extra materials, build a trade depot and use your influence to buy rucksacks.
      Whenever you can't keep up with a resource, sometimes you have to cut back. For example, if you can't keep up with food, then it means you might have to start kicking people out until you can keep up.

I was able to get a food and meds rucksack. I just radioed for fuel and materials, but they're really far out, and I have no car to speak of because they either ran out of gas far away from my base or got destroyed. • @GitGudFox
      @GitGudFox  4 года назад +1

      I can fully stock a base in 2-3 hours from a brand new playthrough.
      When you use the trade depot to call for traders, they should come to your base directly. You shouldn't have to go out and look for them though sometimes they take time to get to your base.
      Well, you're not going to get much done without a car, so getting a new vehicle repaired and refueled should be your first goal. You also need to put a lot of effort into not ruining your vehicles especially if you don't have a back up. That means going out of your way to not run zombies over and going out of your way to drive safely even if it takes longer.

Right now, I'm on the roof of a trailer trying to decide if I should attempt to take out a plague heart at this nail salon to boost one of the survivors' morale. I have some explosives, a sword and a few molotov cocktails. The reason I'm contemplating so hard is that I have very low stamina due to hunger and lack of rest. I started Squelones Brewing Company with a generator preloaded in the top small outdoor slot, but no cooperative. Removed it for a watchtower effectively removing nearly double threat with two swings. My threat was hi, genny is loud, what is 1 more can of fuel for a power plant without the sound? i'll take it. I can't have too much sound there if I plan on using those still slots effectively. My builder with munitions is a shh librarian for -1 zombie threat but is a 'Complainer' (-5 morale, starts fights with others, easily frustrated) I have to find another builder I can't carry that to a new map, she's a total buzz kill lol

  • @ryanboers7684

    I've played this map several times now and I always settle on the Squelones Brewing Company base. I cannot figure out why on some playthroughs, when I brew the Craft Beer, it also brews Barley Wine as a bonus. This happens every time I brew (and on both stills), but only on certain playthroughs. Is this glitched? I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the Brewmaster's Notebook. Has anyone else noticed this?

      What do you need the power for? If you just need it for a single facility, you can just use the power generator mod to get that 1 facility up and running.
      Otherwise, it just depends on what resources you have available.
      If you have a ton of influence, move into a base that has a built-in generator or claim a power outpost.
      If you don't have much influence, build your own generator in one of your small facilities.

      You probably have characters that don't get along well and have negative morale traits. If you go to the base menu, you can look at a full report of your community's status. One of the options is to look at the morale situation. That'll give you an idea of what's causing the losses in morale.
      You may need to kick people out if they're just too bothersome. You can also build morale specialized facilities like the lounge, the red talon officer's quarters, and the kitchen (if you have a cook).
