what an incredible video of an incredible group of ladies. Super inspiring to watch and very enjoyable. Glad that you all had fun, and i commend the incredible sailing. Sail like a girl!!!!
Thank you Zoee!! I have been waiting with bated breath for this!!! awesome job!!! hooray for our Team of Glorious Girls!!! Bravo to all of you for another awesome r2AK
Such a goooood video! Invaluable to a hopeful future racer. I’m guessing the requirement to pass through Bella Bella has developed since? Beautiful sail! Beautiful video!
You ladies did a wonderful job! You.might have gotten away with sailing with a reefed main and no jib, after the spreader broke, but whe it comes to good seawomanship (or seamanship), caution is king.
Why Nikki is that you? Do I recognize you from your crazy sail across the Atlantic with SV La Vagabond? Great video ladies, I want to learn to sail! Edited to say, if I had kept watching I would of known it is Nikki. Lol Always love your humor and smile!
Actually, a lot of really good sailing comes down to how well you can conserve your energy by not investing moves into something that is contra-indicated to efficient boating. "Badass" is so silly and ostentatious, maximizing speed over ground while minimizing dangerous and out-of-control mistakes like broaching is the spirit of sailboat racing. And the sound of women jabbering over each other all the time would probably kill everybody else that races sailboats. I've raced since 1968, owned multiple boats since 1974. My crew does their job to make us win by paying attention to the wind, the currents, dangers in the water, and we don't jabber until the race is done, when we can analyze everything in true perspective.
@@shannonmorris8501 Cool. Hey, I need to go over there and talk to someone who just came in. I'll talk to you later, but you keep blurting out your strawmen and appeals to authority. No one notices, I promise.
@@shannonmorris8501 Corsair 760, laser or Weta when the wind is up...f101 coming in March or April, and that's not racing. They just saw someone else they need to talk to and hope you enjoy your evening.
Why is it always about gender? It's a sailing race with no place for misandrist attitudes. Conversely it's all about sailing...nature....skill set or lack thereof and has absolutely nothing to do with one's gender. Just saying....Have a nice day.
This is the sailing group that makes it about gender, 110%. The worst thing: hundreds of women have been racing sailboats for decades in this area. None of us turned it into a youtube tik tok look-at-us media event, it's the opposite of the spirit of racing sailboats. The question by which each contestant can be judged: could they have done that without unlimited funds? Husbands? It's an accomplishment to sail well without dripping money all over the boat or relying on men to handle the decisions.

Does anybody know which Class (as in boattype) they are sailing?
Team Sail Like A Girl sailed a Melges 32. There are no classes in Race to Alaska.
Utterly badass
Doing that with 2kcal/day would waste me down to nothing in a week.

@@mastpg That's ok! Would you even be aware if they were creating their own circus? Do you race sailboats? Do you own one?
