      It's not quite lake Puget Sound, but close. It's north of Puget Sound. Part of the route is directly exposed to the Pacific and the wind and the tides can be treacherous. There was at least one knockdown this year...sorry...capsize (Wendigo) with a rescue. But yes, you better be prepared to paddle or else drift downstream in 2 kt of current. Wind is very unreliable.
