I used to work in nutrition. I think they definitely do prepare the potatoes differently on the vegan (plant balls) dish since mashed potatoes usually contain butter or cream. Even if they use margarine, not all brands of margarine are vegan (might contain a little bit of milk or whey). I wouldn’t be surprised if the mashed potato is straight potato and nothing else lol. Also, the gravy would also have to be plant based as well, which is probably why everything tasted better with the meat based gravy.

I actually really like the plant balls and the daim cake is 💯 for me, although I typically just buy from the grocery section and eat them at home. I wonder if the difference in the mashed potatoes was dairy being added to the ones on the meat plate, since presumably the plant ball plate was all vegan friendly.
Be careful of the salt. I’ve lost kidney function due to a heart attack plus have thyroid disease. My dietician told me it’s cheaper but our bodies aren’t meant to digest soy and all the chemicals. Going vegan is better😊
at the ikea near me all the dishes are served with some mixed boil vegetables instead of peas and i think they used to serve some baked brussel sprouts. Cinnamon buns are literally my favorite along with the hot dogs and ice cream (and ofc the swedish meatballs).

I loooove Ikea's veggie dogs. the veggies used instead of substitute meat makes them taste so good but they do taste best with mustard on top as well as the fried onions and cabbage

The salmon in Sweden is extremely high quality due to the cold waters so I would assume all the salmon dishes at IKEA in Sweden are actually higher quality.

IKEA meatball is definitely my 10 there!!! Essentially with mashed potatoes gravy and a touch of lingonberry. Unfortunately the peas brings it to an 8. I hate peas! I rather have the veggie medallion instead. They used to top the salmon with some sauce and it’s really good with that. I have no idea they have Havana Chicken!!! I’ll have to make another trip to IKEA.
