I was in Chengdu a few months ago during a China trip. Chengdu is an interesting city. It's a growing, bustling city. There is high-density construction going on in every square mile of that city, there are huge shopping districts where people buy the latest gizmos, and it is a huge tech and BRI transit hub with industrial suburbs just sprouting up around the city center, and it is famous for its world-renowned spicy hotpot (that us young men in fits of testosterone-driven machismo go crazy over). Despite this, our guide told us that Chengdu is actually the city where people like to relax and take it easy and not an ideal place for an energetic and boisterous youth, but more of an ideal place for people to retire to, age gracefully, and take it easy during their golden years.

If you are interested in learning about China's progress and history, please provide some travel advice:
If you want to explore 3,000 years of history, go to Xi'an.
If you want to explore 1,000 years of history, go to Beijing.
If you want to explore 100 years of China from colonization to modernization, you can go to Shanghai.
If you want to see a city plan built on a mountain with modern infrastructure. For the dream city built in 40 years, let's go to Chongqing.
If you want to see the future, go to Shenzhen.
This is a very rough and comprehensive statement. If we continue to add the different natural landscapes and biomes provided by China, the list will be endless, because China is very large, with too many beautiful places and many beautiful cities and natural landscapes.
What is the best of all this? No matter where you go in China, as long as it is where people live, you are absolutely safe! You are free to explore!
China is safe 24 hours a day, bars and various entertainment venues are open 24 hours a day, and restaurants are open 24 hours a day! Don't worry about being shot🇨🇳

During the 1970s many futurists said in future most people will not need to work because automation will do most of the work. It looks like China may be the first to achieve this. It's comical you still have western governments coming up with crazy accusations that China is using "forced labour" in Xinjiang where automation is rife. You hardly see humans working on large cotton fields these days, abd their factories are errily deserted except for the occasional supervisor idly walking about.

In a functional society and political system.. Technilogy and Automation will be a blessing for everyone who lives in it.
In a non functional system, the people will fear and fight against technoloy and automation. Because, in the back of their minds. They know that those who hold the technology and power will cut them out of the porcess and leave them to starve.
If you want to know, if a country (the system of governance) will survive the evolution into the future (technology). You only need to look at how much opposition to technology and automation. The public displays.

I was fortunate enough to stumble on to People’s Park in Chengdu. I have never seen anything like it in my home country USA. Chengdu is noted as a city of leisure. People walk slower, enjoy their hot pots and linger over their tea. The park provides tables by the lake for lunch or tea. I had my ears cleaned so I can listen to the various singing and music group. There were old grannies singing folk songs to army veterans singing military tunes. Dancing from rock to ballroom. Kids fishing for goldfish. I spent an entire day there. A complete stranger bought me lunch. Even retired life in America is not this enjoyable as Chengdu.

Very interesting, lots of people enjoying the park. Not the same as Hyde Park in London, where people do all sorts of different things, ride horses, play ball games, relax and at speakers corner where you can voice your opinion, criticize the prime minister or say just about anything you desire and people will gather to listen, without fear or favour.

Funny title with the photo. Should tell people that Mint Coconut Latte is 36 RMB, 5.75 USD. 7000 coffee shops in Shanghai with 700 Starbucks. What are Chengdu’s numbers?
