That's a fantastic park. It's truly unique.
There's so much to do here: Looking for a mate, eating snacks, drinking tea, having your ears "serviced", dancing, singing, enjoying nature, AND viewing pandas. Very unique indeed.
It really is a great place, I always try and visit there whenever I'm in Chengdu.
I love the word……looking for a person…..to mate 😅
@@BarrettYT Please mark your video with Chinese subtitles. Thank you.
I was amazed by the sheer number of people in the public parks enjoying themselves when I first went to China and of course just how clean the parks are 😮😮😮 Yup if you want to see Pandas Chengdu really is THE place.👍👍👍
You go to a city park in the US and all you'll see are drug addicts and homeless. The kids playing or family enjoying the park have all been pushed out by them.
All these people under a brutal totalitarian regime (according to USA) pretending to live normally and happily. 😂
As someone who has lived half of his life in NY, the parks in China all over have impressed me the most.
From Uk here, just visited Chengdu for the first time and my first time in mainland China. Very nice city! Will definitely be back again!
That's good to know. Chengdu is indeed a great city, but there are many more. Try Chongqing or Shanghai next time.
Excellent video again.
And yes - you won't see that many folk in british parks. Most of them are not safe to go in to. As with most areas in britain.
Yeah, Parks in China are indeed very different to those in the UK.
I am a loyal tourist for Chengdu, it's just a relaxing and energetic city and surrounded by numerous mountains, rivers with excellent views. By the way the food out there is No.1 China in my heart...
Love to see you sharing beautiful sceneries and various true scenes of China. Thank you.
My pleasure 😊
I was in Chengdu a few months ago during a China trip. Chengdu is an interesting city. It's a growing, bustling city. There is high-density construction going on in every square mile of that city, there are huge shopping districts where people buy the latest gizmos, and it is a huge tech and BRI transit hub with industrial suburbs just sprouting up around the city center, and it is famous for its world-renowned spicy hotpot (that us young men in fits of testosterone-driven machismo go crazy over). Despite this, our guide told us that Chengdu is actually the city where people like to relax and take it easy and not an ideal place for an energetic and boisterous youth, but more of an ideal place for people to retire to, age gracefully, and take it easy during their golden years.
What really? That city looks extremely busy :D But i guess Chinese have a different understanding of busy city. I was in Tokyo a few months ago and i can imagine its similar in Chinese cities during rush hour and night time. I was overwhelmed.
@@91djdjnot as you think!!
@@91djdj You need to look again. They play hard and work hard! I had a Taiwanese friend who was transferred to Chengdu. He was reprimanded by his new co workers to slow down. He would walk and work too fast and had to acclimate to Chengdu speed. What is that Jamaican song…Don’tworry, be happy.
don't let USA influence such beautiful country and culture, else, homeless gun crime, homeless everywhere.. Even my 3rd world developing country Malaysia is much safer to live and walk around at night than in USA
+1❤❤MALAYSIA.
Lousy USA all western media propaganda war mongering nation survives only because of wars
Have you ever been to the USA?
This is social media where people can exercise their right to reply on things MSM has been parrotting
I'd bet my life that you've never been to the US.
Haha. I immediately knew which city from the first one or two minutes. This city is where Nico (another RUclipsr) loves to move to. It has relaxing, laid back vibe. I think Chengdu has one of best city parks in China. It’s food is good too, on par with twin city Chongqing.
Yes, I also agree, Peoples park is such a lovel park indeed.
I too guessed Chengdu. I been to People’s Square in Shanghai but ruled it out because the Shanghainese are goal driven with determination. Chengdu is the Venice Beach of China, laid back dude!
Barrett. .you seems to have put on weight and your voice is so clear and crisp..it is a good sign that your health is improving...
keep it up and wishing the best of health in your coming years...
Ha yes, however, I think I've gained a little too much weight...

You're looking good and young, more power to you, jiayo.
A health advice, avoid consuming too much carbohydrates and sugar, they are bad for your health and can cause you-know-what, you don't want it again. Be careful of what you eat, your health depends on the foods you eat.
Just a lovely life, a wide array of activities in the park!!! Not all work, play is also imperative, we are envious of such!!! 😂😂😂
Yes, Chengdu residents have a very laid back lifestyle, very different to that of Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen..
Enjoy relaxing time in China during cold weather is real joy.
Oh yes!
Not if you are in Nanjing right now flown in from Vietnam 😂
If you are interested in learning about China's progress and history, please provide some travel advice:
If you want to explore 3,000 years of history, go to Xi'an.
If you want to explore 1,000 years of history, go to Beijing.
If you want to explore 100 years of China from colonization to modernization, you can go to Shanghai.
If you want to see a city plan built on a mountain with modern infrastructure. For the dream city built in 40 years, let's go to Chongqing.
If you want to see the future, go to Shenzhen.
This is a very rough and comprehensive statement. If we continue to add the different natural landscapes and biomes provided by China, the list will be endless, because China is very large, with too many beautiful places and many beautiful cities and natural landscapes.
What is the best of all this? No matter where you go in China, as long as it is where people live, you are absolutely safe! You are free to explore!
China is safe 24 hours a day, bars and various entertainment venues are open 24 hours a day, and restaurants are open 24 hours a day! Don't worry about being shot🇨🇳
And even first hand perspectives from social media influencers
Wow what an incredible and helpful information. Thank you so much!!
During the 1970s many futurists said in future most people will not need to work because automation will do most of the work. It looks like China may be the first to achieve this. It's comical you still have western governments coming up with crazy accusations that China is using "forced labour" in Xinjiang where automation is rife. You hardly see humans working on large cotton fields these days, abd their factories are errily deserted except for the occasional supervisor idly walking about.
The forced labor accusations mainly come from a guy named Adrian Zenz, who is of questionable character himself (an Evangelical fundie, and likely an intelligence asset organized to do a combination of falsifications and muckraking).
@@harrisonelfrink5676He converted to Christianity because of how Muslims and other religions around the world are “treated”, and felt like Christianity was special because they’re not oppressed. This is quoting in his own words. He sounds like a genuine advocate for colonialism.
It just so happens that making ignorant, crazy accusations makes headlines and sells newspapers.
In a functional society and political system.. Technilogy and Automation will be a blessing for everyone who lives in it.
In a non functional system, the people will fear and fight against technoloy and automation. Because, in the back of their minds. They know that those who hold the technology and power will cut them out of the porcess and leave them to starve.
If you want to know, if a country (the system of governance) will survive the evolution into the future (technology). You only need to look at how much opposition to technology and automation. The public displays.
Automation will do most of what 🤔🤣🤣🤣im so tired of people spreading this bullshig Ai and automation won’t replace us you idiot. We don’t need employers nor jobs for work with how advanced and innovative the world has become we can create our own tasks and get compensated for it to without employers with government financial institutions 🏦.All Ai and automation will do is replace these employers not us that’s what everyone need to wake up on they will replace these employers and it won’t be any jobs but that doesn’t mean it won’t be any work 🤔.
Wow!!! Amazing...thank you
Thank you for sharing this interesting part of Chengdu. Good thing is that you let people know the real China 🇨🇳 I wish to see more places in China 👍
I just turned 70 last June during that time we have gone from the industrial age to the information age now we're in the a i age they seem to adopting fairly well many jobs will be gone work or the idea of work will under go a complete change China is light years ahead of us 😀 😊
another great video, Huahua is a big star in the Panda base, but i didnt expect that you have to queue for so long to see her. 😅😅
I was fortunate enough to stumble on to People’s Park in Chengdu. I have never seen anything like it in my home country USA. Chengdu is noted as a city of leisure. People walk slower, enjoy their hot pots and linger over their tea. The park provides tables by the lake for lunch or tea. I had my ears cleaned so I can listen to the various singing and music group. There were old grannies singing folk songs to army veterans singing military tunes. Dancing from rock to ballroom. Kids fishing for goldfish. I spent an entire day there. A complete stranger bought me lunch. Even retired life in America is not this enjoyable as Chengdu.
You seem to be really having a great time!
for sure I did, peoples park in Chendgu is such a lovely park.
You are awesome Barrett!
Barrett, you have impressed me, that with open mind, you always find fun or joy, either big or small, whenever and wherever you’re
Thank you so much, really nice to hear.
Oh how I would to relax by that gorgeous lake drinking tea and eating snacks! ❤
China is easily by far THE BEST country for seniors and retirement living.
Wow, love the vibe you are giving off Lee.
Appreciate that
Welcome to Chengdu!!!
China’s economy looks ok to me.
China is good
THis is so amusing! I love seeing they are singing! 😇😇😇😇
Thank you for showing us the parks and well looked after pandas, the american zoos cant even look after 3 of them...
Now you'll see an infkux of americans with their tents travelling to China to claim and live in those nice and well maintained parks.
Chinese are so freedom and relax their break times, sometimes they take a nap while they re working too.
The people's park I love ❤️ it in North America 🌎 it'd be over run with stoned out druggies garbage every where no one wants to bring their kids there this is the way public spaces should be greetings from Canada 😊
Very interesting!
A safe place to have tea, find your future spouse, and pet a Panda.
How much are the plane tickets to get there?
Incredible crowded park, but interesting.
I was in Chengdu 2 weeks ago but I didn’t visit this people’s park as it isn’t in my bucket list of places to visit. Love the luxurious shopping belt and the vibes in Chengdu city, the pandas and the beautiful gardens and thatched hut residence of the famous Tang Dynasty Chinese poet Du Fu. I also went on a 3-day tour to the spectacular and scenic Jiuzaigou also in Sichuan Province. I really like Sichuan and Chengdu. China is such a vast country and so diverse in its culture and ethnicity. There’s never a dull moment exploring China.
Barrett….. so nice to know you love China. Thank you! I am wondering have you learned some Chinese with all these years in China? I don’t ever hear you carry a conversation in Chinese. That will mean so much to the Chinese, and you will enjoy your time in China more, too!
I know a little but need to learn more...
how do you know they aren't talking behind your back ? @@BarrettYT

"parks" in the UK you will either get skin head gangsters or zombie druggies
Or trash on the sidewalk…
It's quite novel. I've never seen these two types of people in my life
Enjoy your time in chengdu
They are happier than 1st world.
China is so peaceful and laid-back, old people dancing drinking tea, while in America old people are lonely doing drugs and living in streets.
omg。。。想到人民公园我就想K我的朋友! 本来我们要去那里见世面的,他非拉着我去别的地方! 然后人家周末才有,而我们去了苏州😢😢😢😢😢 明年再去!
Oh, what a shame that you missed it, you must make sure you go there next time, it's such a lovely park with so much going on there....
Yes welcome to retiries paradise, and open recreational parks
Wow, seeing is believing. Thanks for sharing this special park.,👍🏼👍🏼😍🙏
Public gatherung fir people to meet and create friendship.
Its interesting to see how the living quality in China is increasing dramatically during the last decade.
Living Standards in China over the past couple of decades have increased significantly for most people, I have seen this with my own eyes as I've been coming to China for almost 20 years.
Thanks you Barrett for capturing this beautiful city of Chendu. The afternoon tea and get together to see the activities of Chendu people sharing the century old customs is a wonderful experience. The People's park really serves the purpose as a good role model to the outside world.
My pleasure 😊
First of all, congratulations because you're looking so we'll and completely recovered, and secondly this a charming video !!!
Thank you so much!!
China just beautiful 😂😂
I live in chengdu for8 years,it’s very chill and relax
The park is nice but my ability to view this video is even nicer. really dji pocket 3.
很好的视频素材
8:00 Wow. Didn't know they had a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Chengdu
❤love your videos always.❤
In fact, the development of different countries is different, but everything has a good side and a bad side, when you just go to a strange travel it is undoubtedly relaxed and comfortable, when you have to face the life will be completely different, if there is no money or other advantages, no matter where the life will not be too easy.
I have seen a huge improvement in the picture quality of this latest video which is great on it own merit. So much more enjoyable and a bonus to see the richer natural colors. Are you using a DJI product? Care to tell us which one? Thanks
Most of this was shot on the DJI Pocket 3 Camera. At the Panda based I used both the Pocket 3 and the Sony A7S3.
@@BarrettYT , thank you from a long time fan.
So why are there so many people at the tea house on a weekday afternoon again? Surely they're not all business owners or jobless right?
I really have no idea, Especially surprised me to see so many young people there. Maybe they have wealthy families...
The living cost in Chengdu is low and there are plenty of good tea and food also beautiful environment, so, if you are not very ambitious, a relaxing job is more reasonable than hard work and competition, especially for the local people who owns a property already, the life pressure is super light. BTW, Chengdu brings up many artists, I guess it related to this relaxing vibe. Enjoy life is Chengdu philosophy.
@@qiangfu3189 The cost of living in a tier 1 city is low? How come this is not seen in other lower tiered cities where cost of living is even lower?
And the overwhelming majority of the people in the tea house look like theyre under 35. How could an under-35 own a property working a relaxing job?
@@annxu3364 I was specifically talking about the tea house. The overwhelming majority of those in the tea house looked young, so definitely not retired.
@@yerri5567Because Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province, there will be people from other places who come to travel, and students will also come out to play. Therefore, having more young people does not necessarily mean anything
Glad to see urban life where people can actually enjoy themselves. In the west that is often not the case
Looks like parents finding mates of their own!
Amazing relaxed lifestyle in Chengdu!
It really is!
Good yo see you recover from cancer.
Very interesting, lots of people enjoying the park. Not the same as Hyde Park in London, where people do all sorts of different things, ride horses, play ball games, relax and at speakers corner where you can voice your opinion, criticize the prime minister or say just about anything you desire and people will gather to listen, without fear or favour.
I went there but couldn’t find a seat,full of people😂
👍
Chengdu is too far from my home, 2000 kilometers away. I think I need to travel there❤❤❤❤❤❤
Pandas are cute...
👏👏👏🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳👍👍👍
I would say Chengdu is the best work-life balance city in China. Agree, type 1. Not agree, type 2.
amazing city, but too big, and poor air quality to many other cities.
I stopped going to parks in canada because of the recent stabbings and shootings in Toronto (downtown area). Mind you, it was not this bad before.
I ❤China
Shanghai People's Park at Nanjing Lu.
The CCP is so cruel to force people to enjoy themselves & be happy…clearly violating human rights
It took me ONE second to figure it out ;)
Funny title with the photo. Should tell people that Mint Coconut Latte is 36 RMB, 5.75 USD. 7000 coffee shops in Shanghai with 700 Starbucks. What are Chengdu’s numbers?
What the West doesn't get.... most of these are all retirees. And yes, the Chinese have community life after retirement
