This made my day!!! Having a long day at work and hearing our melodic Welshmen narrating is so relaxing and pleasant. Thank you for doing this for your fans!
Wow, what a toe curler. There was more wax in these two ears than what you removed from the person who hadn't had his ears cleaned in 50 years! Bravo, Rhys, that was impressive. Thank you for sharing.
When you showed the second ear, it reminded me of the rock in front of the tomb. I half expected Jesus to come out when you finally cleared it! Stupendous job… thanks for sharing!
I would love to see the patient’s face when they can hear again. An interview with someone who can express the feelings of regaining their hearing would be fun too!
Oh my. I wondered if this could be cleared but of course, our hero of the ears conquered it! My jaw literally dropped when that HUGE chunk came away from the 2nd ear! Always a pleasure, Rhys - you're the best!. Love from Maryland, US
Suction, Jobson horn, and crocodile forceps all make an appearance in this one! Very cool. The patient had to feel so much better. Thank you Rhys for holding the camera a bit more once the wax is out. 👂
Hello, Rhys - a most, most satisfying removal! ...and that's for us watching - imagine your patient, like night and day...this procedure must have felt like Christmas, New Year's and Boxing Day all rolled into one!! I think this is probably the biggest removal you have done so far...Good job!
So. Much. Wax. Just..wow. Great video Rhys;it's a testament to your skill and gentle approach with your patient that got these extractions done safely and carefully. After watching all of your videos, you'd think there's no way a patient could have THAT much wax in both ears and I'm impressed with how many times my jaw dropped open in surprise during this video. I'm glad your patient visited you to have these plugs removed...I've seen a few other practioners remove wax and the patient was in serious discomfort by the end. Well done Rhys and make sure you're taking care of yourself when you guys are so incredibly busy. There's a lovely back catalog to peruse if ya can't post as often as ya have in the past ok? Your health is more important than stressing yourself trying to upload new videos.
Hey Rhys, so glad to see another new video. I have a question. Is there any kind if drop or cream for the soreness of the ear canal? Bcuz some are so red during & after their procedure. I had asked before but I know you're busy helping your parents. I don't have IG or FB so I really hope you see this comment with my question my friend. Great job as always! Blessings in Jesus name Amen! 👑🙏🏼👍👏😉😳❤❤
I'm thinking no, based on previous videos. It depends on the ear, how narrow it is, how many bends, etc. Usually the whole reason it gets this big is because it's not migrating out on its own. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong) 😊
@@nicolecodbrajoe5229 no no I get and I know that, but like eventually once it keeps getting produced, it has to go SOMEWHERE you know? 😂 but of course you’d never want it to get that bad! I’m just thinking hypocritically :)
@@lukenaoumovitch4477 Fair enough. I believe if it stays in and gets bigger, that's when it start expanding and pushing in the bone and deforming the ear canal.
Hi Mr and Mrs B 🙋🏽. WOW ‼️ I REALLY don't see How this patient could hear anything ‼️ but I know that they are relieved to get that out. OUCH‼️👍🏽 EXCELLENT JOB ‼️😃.
I was watching episode 442 with an ear full of tar. You kept apologizing for talking too much. Your excited descriptions changed a textbook teaching film into an adventure! And that is what I love about your work
That wasn't an earwax removal; it was an excavation. You could have used a backhoe on that but I guess you did kind of use the jobson horn like one. Good job! He had to be so happy.
I agree with Michelle Jones, "that.was an excavation." So much wax and debris must have been a problem for your patient. Could he hear before the procedure? Was he in pain? If that had not been treated, could a cholesteatoma have developed? I have noticed that Neel, Conor, and you don't find as many as Dr Zhao. Are there fewer in the UK because most people have health insurance, because antibiotics are available, because patients are referred to ENTs, or something else?
My husband needs this procedure, hands down! I'm jaded of thinking how painful must be to have an earplug removed with saline and a syringe. And my hubby is quite sensible around his ears. I hope I can find an audiologist as skilled as Mr Rhys in my country. Question: the cilia removed with the wax can regrow? If not, are they the ones that impact the hearing loss?
Was just wondering why you don’t use the water jet thing that most of the American doctors use, I love watching your videos, and can’t wait till my notifications go to say you have another video out hopefully the Monday,Wednesday, and Fridays are now back for good, take care keep up the good work for all your fans 😁
That’s huge… kudos doc… I have a doubt! Why the wax removal process is much easier in the second ear compared to the first one? I have noted this in almost all the videos. Is it like the second ear gets prepared (biologically) to throw the wax out automatically once the first ear is cleaned?
I never understood why I wasn't suppose to use Q-tips until I saw your video on what happens when used. So of course I've been using them. I won't do it from now on. Thanks
That was an impressive amount of wax! I bet that patient feels so much better! You’re so good doc. If I ever have issues with my ears, I’m flying across the pond to come see you!
I have to ask what the puffy orange blobs are in the first ear? It's not the same consistency or color as the actual wax, but not really skin. Reminds me of autumn leaves, if leaves were a thick ice-cream scoop of wax. Well done, by the way. That's an impressive cleaning.
There is no way he could hear much of anything with that much wax in his ears. Bless him. I bet he feels a million times better now that he can hear the world around him.
Dr, I have one question. Sorry if this has already been answered. Why don't you trim the hair for a better view? Or this doesn't matter under your trained eyes? =D love your videos!
Wow that was an awesome extraction, the relief must have been huge!! It never ceases to amaze me just how much hair there is binding all that wax together. Does that hair at the entrance shed quite quickly?? Have a great day everyone from me in Adelaide, South Australia 🇦🇺
Ebony, yellow gold and reddish hues. What causes all the different colors? I understand oxidation but what would also be causing the other colors. Could it be shampoos could it be stuff they put in their ears?

Sheesh eenie meanie mienie moe which plug do I want to go? Yikes!! Lol but seriously is that something you could use the flexloop on at all? And please pardon my ignorance but how do you know whether to see an Audiologist or an ENT? Thank you so much for all you do Rhys and Mrs.B! Have a great night!
I hope your patient feels and hears much better now. Thanks for the update! You know when is a real hard one when after the Jobson Horne is doing his duty and at 5min of impacted earwax you see that Mr Rhys is able to pop some olive oil. And then the struggle continues. Then he introduces the other patient's ear, with the kind of laughter and *sigh* you do when Friday shift isn't yet done and you remember the couple extra hours you have remaining. And then the croc forceps comes and they also need some hand magic to end the task. A real mammoth. Thanks Mr and Mrs Rhys! Have an awesome week Ps: that olive oil is like WD-40... Works wonders
I would like to see also the patient’s reactions from what he saw on the table and his emotions from being able to hear better after all that stuff was taken out from his ears :-)
Wow! This person must have felt so much better after some Rhys therapy! I heard that bit of dismay in your voice when going to the other ear. You made it!
I really wish you would zoom out and hold the big pieces up next to the whole ear 👂after extraction so we can get a good size comparison. It would only take a few extra seconds. The ruler at the end is ok but I think the side by side would show the size better

Only if it grow legs, and quite strong ones.
