    So. Much. Wax. Just..wow. Great video Rhys;it's a testament to your skill and gentle approach with your patient that got these extractions done safely and carefully. After watching all of your videos,you'd think there's no way a patient could have THAT much wax in both ears and I'm impressed with how many times my jaw dropped open in surprise during this video. I'm glad your patient visited you to have these plugs removed...I've seen a few other practioners remove wax and the patient was in serious discomfort by the end. Well done Rhys and make sure you're taking care of yourself when you guys are so incredibly busy. There's a lovely back catalog to peruse if ya can't post as often as ya have in the past ok? • @nicolecodbrajoe5229
      @nicolecodbrajoe5229 3 года назад +25

      I'm thinking no, based on previous videos. It depends on the ear, how narrow it is, how many bends, etc. Usually the whole reason it gets this big is because it's not migrating out on its own. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong) 😊

    That wasn't an earwax removal; it was an excavation. You could have used a backhoe on that but I guess you did kind of use the jobson horn like one. Good job! He had to be so happy.

  • @kathrynmettelka7216
    @kathrynmettelka7216 3 года назад +6

    I agree with Michelle Jones, "that.was an excavation." So much wax and debris must have been a problem for your patient. Could he hear before the procedure? Was he in pain? If that had not been treated, could a cholesteatoma have developed? I have noticed that Neel, Conor, and you don't find as many as Dr Zhao. Are there fewer in the UK because most people have health insurance, because antibiotics are available, because patients are referred to ENTs, or something else?

    My husband needs this procedure, hands down! I'm jaded of thinking how painful must be to have an earplug removed with saline and a syringe. And my hubby is quite sensible around his ears. I hope I can find an audiologist as skilled as Mr Rhys in my country.
    Question: the cilia removed with the wax can regrow? If not, are they the ones that impact the hearing loss?
