How many times have you rewatched it? I can only watch highlights because even though I know the result I still get so tense my muscles tighten up. My mom, who is 70, has watched it 7 times.
That entire game I refused to let myself get too excited. Everyone knew the skill, and what sometimes felt like luck, of the Pats and I always had that bad feeling that they would somehow fight back. One other friend of mine was a true Eagles fan at the viewing party while the rest were neutral or pats. The minute the balk hit the ground my friend was screaming and clapping my back and I refused to react until I saw the FINAL letters pop up. I just remember covering my face and crying for a good minute until I went outside to call my family. Girlfriend got my entire reaction on camera. Best moment I’ve ever felt in sports. No win will ever feel as good as that one.
I hear ya, when we got the ball back after the Patriots took the lead, I was praying like I never prayed before. Hands clasped that entire drive, and when we got the touchdown, I saw the ball pop up and had that sick feeling that this was the moment we were gonna get screwed out of another Super Bowl. I prayed even harder when they were reviewing it, and when they said that it was good, I was so relieved that we got it. After the failed two point attempt, I was hoping that we'd force a turnover and we got that with the forced fumble. My mom and brother were already crying from that, but I said that no tear will be shed until the game is over. After kicking the field goal, it felt like the longest minute I've ever seen. Brady converted first down after first down and got close enough for the Hail Mary. As soon as that ball hit the turf, I was screaming and basked in the win. I didn't cry until the Lombardi Trophy made its way to the stand for our team to hoist in victory.
Every fan in Philadelphia felt like they won the superbowl personally. We are so in love with our football team that this win felt like self accomplishment
StFidjnr i hear ya, i wasnt around for all 4 titles. Hell, i didn't even get into following sports until about 1998. But i know experiencing the Phils 2008 world series was good, but this Eagles superbowl, was extraordinary. The feeling of watching the game with the Eagles ahead, it was such joy to know that we are champions.
Philly sucks lol. Best thing to come out of Philadelphia was the founding father Ben Franklin... Your city is shit and your sports teams choke all the time.
As someone who's never been married and has no kids, the final whistle on this game was the single greatest moment of my life, hands down. And while I have nothing but respect for Chris Berman, I feel like he should have at least called Philly's kicker by the right name (11:47). Like I know dude's a rookie, but come on. It's late in the Super Bowl and he's really fucking good.
Conker Squirrel McLeod's foot was on the line when he stripped it, that is not legal. If any part of the ball is touching out of bounds, or touching a player who is touching out of bounds, the play is over. You can't cause a fumble from the sideline, that's essentially what happened.
Anthony Bonanni Naa, McLoed was back inbounds when he stripped the ball out, then stepped back out after the ball was on the turf. You can see when the ref ends the play because he puts his arms up in the air when he thinks Amendola touches the ball while his butt is on the turf partly out of bounds, but there's no view of him actually touching the ball after he lost it. Philly might have won if they challenged it.
Think about all those 4th down conversions we successfully made... if we didn't get those we probably would have lost! Even now in Mid season of 2018 it feels like a dream still because usually I'm used to dealing with the whole division constantly attacking us with 0 ring jokes! Thank you Doug Peterson, Nick Foles, Alshon Jeffery and the whole Philadelphia Eagles for making our Dream Come True! I don't care if it took 52 years! (28 years for me) but damn it was well worth the wait LOL
I had two childhood dreams when it comes to football: 1. Hearing Merrill Reese call the game as the Eagles won the Super Bowl 2. Watching Chris Berman call highlights of the Eagles winning the Super Bowl on NFL Prime Time Both happened in the same night!
Jim Johnson must have been excited seeing Rodney McLoed stuffing Brandon Cooks in the air with that WWE style tackle on that jet sweep and the Patriots kicker hitting the goal post the next down.
I remember being 8 years old watching us take on the patriots in the super bowl almost winning it, (if mcnabb had more poise) it’s such a great feeling getting a win over them 12 years years later . EAGLES!!!🦅
Every time I watch this it brings back memories from the day Eagles & Patriots starts the kickoff and it has been plays after plays & strip sacks Brady in the 4th quarter til the clock hit 0 and I cannot believe my team did it this has been the moment I have been waiting for all my life.
I tried to tell doubters, 27 -2 TD to int ratio is no fluke in the NFL! But I also said Foles played better then M. Vick in his rookie pre-season debut and should have been named starter! ( that game coincidently was against the Pats!) Haha Eagles Rule!!!!!
Tom Brady: I must break you... (Foles scores a td) Doug: you got him hurt bad, now he’s worried, you cut him!!!! You hurt him!!!! You see you see he’s not a machine he’s a man!!!!!! Tom Brady: hes not a man he’s like a piece of iron. Doug: want it more than he does. No pain. Foles: no pain. Doug: no pain. Foles: no pain. Doug: alright take it to him. Take it to him. Final 3 mins Foles: what quarter is it? Doug: fourth one more quarter, there’s no stopping us now this is our quarter. Bill: you train this fool he’s a disgrace!!! (Shoves Daniels) Listen to them, nfl fans cheering for him. Win!!!! Tom Brady: (gets up) I play to win for me. For me!!!!! Doug: to win you gotta score a td, you gotta throw and throw until you can’t throw no more. This is our whole season here. Carson: you do it nick. Doug: do it now. NOW!!!! Tom Brady: you’re dead Doug watches nick coasting Doug: come on nick. What are you waiting for?!!! Nick throws and starts connecting big Doug and Carson going crazy 4th quarter ends eagles win Nick Foles has done the impossible!!!! Nick: I just wanna say one thing to the fans at home...YO PHILLY!!!! I DID!!!!!!
Congrats eagles fans ever where even though u guys are struggling this year u guys will be back before u know it and I’m a pats fan it still hurts but it was strange that the pats could not match philly at all so congrats
Seriously Brady threw for fucking 505 yds and 3tds, broke records and still lost this game because of Belicheks defense. Belicheck owed Brady this SB win over the rams.
He needs his own quick 30 min segment sunday night called "berman's recap" or some shit...showing all the highlights of the day wit this music playing.
Holy shit. Steve young thought they should throw on 2nd down with 2:03 left? Ladies and gentlemen, i present the atlanta falcons who used the "in field goal range, but throw and get sacked and lose fg range with a chance to best the pats."
Mary Lobb Correction. The PATRIOTS lost. Despite what you believe, Brady is not the only person on the team. Football is a TEAM sport. This is not a boxing match between only the QBs.
TheKuroiSheep but when the Patriots win the Superbowl...who gets mvp? Oh that's right Brady, so when they win he gets the mvp but when they lose it's not his fault cause it's a team sport. Got it. That's a flawed logic that we all fall for.
Bird Gang No. The SB MVP is nothing more than a popularity contest. Brady won SB MVP in XXXVI despite not doing much (145 yds passing, 1 TD) at all but since he's QB he won it. The QB almost always wins SB MVP when other players deserve it more. In XXXVI a defender like Bruschi or Law should've won it. Not being biased or anything. I'm merely all about team play, since you know football is a team sport. There are how many players on each team? Isn't just 1 is it? Thought so
Been waiting my whole life to listen to this background music with Chris berman narrating my team winning the Super Bowl!! Love it!!!!
mikebing1230 couldn’t agree with you more
U from Philly?
Amen!

holy shit we won the Super Bowl! Still blows my mind every time i re-watch this
I still get nervous like I don't already know we won. lol
How many times have you rewatched it? I can only watch highlights because even though I know the result I still get so tense my muscles tighten up. My mom, who is 70, has watched it 7 times.

I couldn't even watch the game, I kept getting updates on google. But we finally have one, and we're looking good; More to come.

Nothing like having your sports dream come true and highlights narrated by Boomer...
E-A-G-L-E-S!!!
I can watch this a million times!
Fuck boomer- I want Merrill
Mark Kirn especially when Boomer picked the Eagles idk how many times to play NE in the super bowl on his swami segments 😂😂
Mark Kirn Indeed, still flying high!
If I remember, he's said his wife's an Eagles fan.
We're gonna miss Blount, mark my words. Great job Cox & entire team.

Yeah, that's gonna happen. Around 2045.
Threw for 500!!! But they lost😂
Daniel Hart Hart The pats threw the kitchen sink at the birds who was at half strength and still lose. Vengeance complete
he had to throw for 500...they couldn't run it at all.
Daniel Hart Hart the Patriots' leading rusher ran for 45 yards. You're not going to win a big percentage of games if you can't control the clock.
Daniel Hart Hart lol the way he said it he sound disgusted

Hes actually one of the worst kickers.
I still tear up every time I watch this
👏😭 so many years watching them stuggle still can’t believe it
how everyone missed the fumble at 8:20 by Amendola ? if you watch the game with sound... that ball is OUT before the whistle
McLeod's foot was out of bounds
that does not matter .. he just can't recover it
chazz Lucas nope, his hand stripped the ball and any contact with the football from a player simultaneously out of bounds ends the play
Conker Squirrel McLeod's foot was on the line when he stripped it, that is not legal. If any part of the ball is touching out of bounds, or touching a player who is touching out of bounds, the play is over. You can't cause a fumble from the sideline, that's essentially what happened.

MRI3421 not the best by far your just an eagle fan Seattle and falcons are the best.
You’re right this was the best, it was like a heavyweight fight till the 12th round
This was the best back and forth but falcons vs patriots was the best comeback both are tied honestly.
Congrats to the Eagles.
I never get tired of watching the highlights of this game either #FlyEaglesFly #superbowlclassic
Shout out to my world city Super Bowl champs Philadelphia Eagles we going back baby God's will
This was the greatest day of my life. NFL primetime could not have used a better NFLPT theme for this game
Spirit of Jim Johnson got pissed at how bad our defense was playing and put all his power into Brendan Graham.
Jim Johnson must have been excited seeing Rodney McLoed stuffing Brandon Cooks in the air with that WWE style tackle on that jet sweep and the Patriots kicker hitting the goal post the next down.
My Dad passed away in December just before the Eagles won the Superbowl I really think him and my Mom both Eagles fans where watching

Been an Eagle Fan always! And always will be no matter what!!

This was hands down the best super bowl of all time in my opinion. Down to the wire. I’d say this, the falcons the previous year, and Warner vs McNair
Best announcer of all time
even watching this now I still think there gonna cheat us some how🙃🏆🏆🏆🏆
Alex Carrion That's hilarious
Funny how all the "controversial" calls wen't the eagles way. It must have felt weird for the Patriots to not get some of those calls overturned.
True
I do not care if i sound biased as an Eagles fan but was the greatest game i have ever seen.
