The 18c works like a champ on stainless steel! These are the best of the best
Great for getting out of cars in case of accident. Keep it handy if you're concerned about that kind of thing.
Someone used this tool on my $20 car window. Thank god I'd found a replacement on Ebay. Usually they'll bust locks. Locks are cheaper.. I hope the kids would just stick with the locks.
Will save me a lot of time drilling pilot holes in wood. Great item.
I'll get one of these great tools. In the video the punch hole was dead center but the screw was put in at an angle and the driver tip slipped in the screw head. I would expect a better craftsmen from Starrett.
James McIntyreit it looked like the torque setting on the drill was set too high.
Quick? Quick review? Lol! Well done though. Was wondering what these punches taking over my Instagram feed were all about.
thanks for the tip
do you know if the 819 works on small hinges? like cabinets hinges?
anyone know how to fix one? I've got an old one that stopped working. took it apart, looked ok but no punch action just springs up and down
yes, i have the same problem with this punch. and mine is only 3 years old. Maybe it's a product defect, and i couldn't find anything on line about how to either get parts for it or repair it.
check for burs on the hammer
my wallet hates me for buying an 18c. but this is a serious case of buy once, cry once
What material is the tip made out of?
Plutanium
tool steel, likely something like S2

These things have been around for years. Nothing new, used them in the 70's to punch truck frame rails.
Sorry Starrett, you used to be cool.. but now you're not.
