Building a crossmember for an early ford 3 speed

  • Today in the shop, we make great progress on the RPU chassis. After tacking in the rear axle spring perch, we build out our transmission crossmember to both support the transmission, and verify the location of the F1 ford brake and clutch pedals.

    Thanks to your video I"m doing the same process in my build. I cheated and had access to a CNC plasma machine for the holes and angles. Simple and straight forward video works for me!

      Nothing wrong with using a plasma table if it’s at your disposal! Can’t beat CNC accuracy for building chassis components. One day we’ll get there, but for now it’s hole saws, cut off wheels and angst lol. Best of luck on your project and thanks for watching!

      Thank you sir! Too much honestly lol. Probably 14 hours or so start to finish

      That’s not a lot. For not having a fancy shop I’d say that was pretty good.
