Well explained. You did not go off track you keeped to setup to the end. Other youtube channels start talking about all different things and get confused. The uplink port has a higher bandwidth where it can handle higher volume of network data than the normal ports on the switch. In this case, it carries an aggregation of all the ports which requires a high bandwidth for efficiency
Very good explanation... Really nice.. I have total 5ports PoE switch with one uplink port... One cable connected from Modem to uplink port of PoE.... NVR is connected to one port of PoE switch...also 2cameras are connected in the PoE switch...is it correct sir.. Can you put a video on PoE switch Function and how does the data's are transferred... Thanks a lot for your video...God Bless,,👍👍👍
Hello Jeyapandian, The connection you explained will work as you are using just 2 cameras but when using about 10 or more cameras, this method will not work. The best way out is to connect the NVR to the modem and maintain all the other connections as you have connected. That will make the network more efficient. I will consider doing another video on POE Switch as requested. Thank you for watching, God bless you too.
The NVR should not necessarily be a POE NVR. What i used in this Video is a non POE NVR. I used Cat 6 network cables in this very demonstration but Cat 5 cables also work perfectly.
This channel is precious, already subscribed. Sir I want to ask how do all IP cameras be able to access the internet and provide remote access when your internet router is not connected to a modem or fiber cable from your ISP through the blue colour WAN/Internet port of the router? This is the only part that I don't get it. Thanks!
1. My router contains a SIM card through which i receive Internet into the router. 2. Since the router is connected to the network switch and the cameras are also connected to the switch, they will receive the Internet which is shared on the switch. Am preparing a new video that will explain how all these happens, ie Switches and router connections and how they function.
@@Tech_Inside_Out I see, but why SIM card connection is chosen in such scenario? Cellular data has limited usage, expensive and the internet connection is unstable when being interfered by bad weather such as rain. Would you suggest to use ISP modem subscription with an actual optic fiber running into an office for internet connectivity?
@@johnsonjohnson129 that sounds more expensive and would take a longer process. I believe he's just using what's best for him. Remember this is also a tutorial

IP Cameras do not require internet to work, there might be a break in your network some where that might have caused the problem. Hello, 1. The two uplink ports help in connecting two switches together, whiles connecting one to an NVR. This video might provide much information. ruclips.net/video/t9hvFJgnDjU/видео.html 2. One uplink port is enough to carry all 4 ports.
Having a 8chPoe nvr and 7 Poe cam connected. Want to connect 1 non Poe cam to the poenvr. Would I need a Poe switch for connecting one nonpoe to the Poe nvr pls? Or there’s a way to beat it.
You need a POE splitter connected to that 8th port to split the signal coming from the NVR into video and power. The video is the RJ45 end and the power goes into the ethernet jack of the camera and you are sorted. As mentioned, i will do a video explaining all these.
Using the Uplink port rather has advantages over using the normal POE ports. The Uplink port has been designed to handle a higher bandwidth than the normal ports and so in larger camera networks, the best place to connect a router is the Uplink port
The Uplink port of the POE switch has been optimised to deliver at a higher bandwidth than the POE ports and that facilities ease of video transfer or transmission. That will mean that there will be much path for video flow with no breaks.
Very very possible. Wherever you are in the world, you can see your house. Am currently working on a video in which i will show how you can even see multiple locations at another location
Thanks for your question, this video shows every process. There are processes that need to be shortened, for example the long boot time of the NVR which does not contain any instruction and hence you will not miss any information It really covers every detail. In case there is a particular point that is not too clear, please let me know so i can provide precise answers. Thank very much for contacting Tech Inside Out.
@@Tech_Inside_Out I understood thank you ... At First I thought the DVR must be connected to a computer then to a monitor while the DVR works as the CPU itself
You can do, provided you are able to position a switch at a distance within 100m from the cameras. You can watch my video on how to link multiple cameras to an NVR, it shows how it can be done
The POE switch is made an intelligent device to know when to supply power so that since the router does not require power from the POE Switch, the switch will not output power.
POE is Power Over Ethernet. I have created 2 other videos that give further explanation to POE. Please see the video links below ruclips.net/video/HXsTwFgkkDc/видео.html ruclips.net/video/pBkdo4yIBps/видео.html

sir why didnt you put the ethernet cable from the router on poe ports insted of lan port?.

What is the use of the third terminal of the IP camera
Its for audio connection from the camera out to other devices.
Can we connect the router to the uplink port of Poe switch instead?
That is recommended especially when using higher number of cameras since it delivers a higher bandwidth.
