Drove my Passport from Ontario Canada to Florida 2 weeks ago. It was fully loaded for my 5 month stay and it performed flawlessly. The lane mitigation becomes a pain with the wheels vibrating so I disarmed it and some of the other safety items can become a nuisance so you can fiddle around with them but this is a great SUV. Glad I bought it.

Finally, it's been pointed out how in-built sat nav is all but obsolete!!!! since everyone has a smartphone. Even in 2016 when I worked as a car salesperson for a short while, I heard talk about manufacturers doing away with it, and we were even told to overcome customers' objections to the car not having it by saying, "you've got a smartphone...?" Smart phones are light years ahead of car sat navs.

My dad has the 2022 CR-V and it's nothing like a 2012 CR-V. Could someone compare 2012-2016 CR-V's vs. Passports in general? I don't like newer cars' aggressive torque takeoffs, it seems like it jerks you around and burns gas for no reason (when they're claiming fuel efficiency...). I want a car which won't 'fight' you to pull you back into lanes, but also stops when a human jumps out in front of the car, but a car which you can fully feel and control, like the old CR-V's. Is the Passport this?

If towing capacity is a consideration when comparing those two go with the passport. The Passport can tow between 3,500 and 5,000 pounds with its V6, while the RDX, like it's CR-V cousin, can only tow 1,500 pounds, with its 4-cylinder turbo. Having driven both of them, I can say the RDX handles better, feels more sporty, and has a cooler sunroof. But the Honda is more practical if you actually plan to take it adventuring, especially with its much larger cargo capacity (almost double that of the RDX).

guitarsunplugged The passport is more practical. I think it has better infotainment although graphics not so good. RDX despite it’s awful infotainment, for about the same price I might consider it.

joe TheBet I think you are comparing 2 diff categories. RDX is going to be smaller but sportier (and the new one in Rspec look good!) but if you want practicality with a kind ish luxury interior get a Passport. We have a EX-L and we love it

Kenny Sanders you have logical choice. The midsize 2 row class can often overlap/compete with both the compact suv class and the compact lux class that you have represented by the rav and the rdx. The ravs segment can step on the passport’s segments by virtue of value and not making a large sacrifice on space. OTOH when you start to add options on this midsize class the price rubs up against RDX money. That’s why unless you’re Jeep I find this segment a little lackluster. If it were up to me I’d avoid the Chevy and Honda. Look hard at the Sante fe, rdx and rav. I hope I helped narrow it down so that you can chose among what suits you best. Toyota will give you the best value, Acura will give you the most premium experience and the sante fe is sized like the passport and murano but is a way better value.

I really like the Passport, but if they want to sell a bunch of them they should make a few modifications.
    1) Better gas mileage
    2) Normal shift lever
    3) Fog lights, turn signals - look like an afterthought. Integrate them into the design
    4) I don't miss the chrome, but they could expand the vehicle's color a bit in the front.
    5) 18" and 19" wheel options
