Psychedelics saved me from years of uncontrollable depression, anxiety, smoking, and illicit pills addiction. Imagine carving heavy chains for over a decade and then all of a sudden that burden is gone. Believe it or not, in a couple of years they'll be all over for treatment of mental health related issues.

@@stefs7141 How would you know that personally?? That's just not an encouraging comment and definitely wasn't necessary. No wonder addicts give up on themselves, if this is how their always looked down on from their fellow human race.
A lot of individuals, age doesn't matter, got caught up in the Oxycodone pain relief. They were actually being able to live a productive life again, which follows by raising their spirits.
Sure, the makers got sued, just like tobacco leaders that lied... But what does it do to the actual patient now??? Many sr's are back to being bed bound, unable to enjoy life again .
Sometimes, many addicts just need someone to believe in them. To let them know they are worthy too, but need to find a new way to live.
I sure wouldn't want their mental & physical persons and I haven't met or heard anyone say, they want to grow up to become an addict. Sticking themselves with needles everyday, by their choice.
Dr's just cutting them off completely & immediately. Their practices are more important than the patients . What would you suggest, after being served a No More Scripts, and told to buy them on the St corner.
There's a whole bigger picture surrounding addiction. I do hope you do some research and learn to be a little kinder. We are all in this together. ❤️✌️Without each other, we are nothing.

I can see why some comments suggest Josh is still using, but it takes time to heal the parasympathetic-sympathetic nervous system after using opiates for so many years. Then the anxiety of retelling a life of family trauma is hard on the body.
This channel attracts a good number of recovering ppl and those still using who are often harder on others than they are on themselves, or as hard.
Grateful to read comments from those who have empathy for ppl who bare their soul on this channel as honestly as they are able, where they are in their path to healing.

Thank you for this. More people should read a psychology book educate themselves . Or or or.... They could listen to a RUclips video or 2 about abuse/trauma and how it effects the brain nervous system and how similar yet even worse when a child , a toddler is abused sexualiy and otherwise as well as neglected for any length of time but say from 3 - 12yrs old and mentally abused well beyond teen years...this person lives a life of active addiction because it's the only way to escape the nightmares and emotional pain... Then the judges chime in and say how dare you be so sick and selfish and how dare you not be the recipient of father or mother of the year.. His honesty here, especially about his son and how he didn't take proper care of him and so on,.... He's not proud, this is brutal honesty. I have a lot of respect for the courage, humility and vulnerability it takes to tell it. Clean and sober or not, telling our story is part of the healing, it's necessary. • @jillibear8419
      @jillibear8419 4 месяца назад +3

It was definitely extremely hard to listen to. It was insanely selfish of him to take that kid from his mom's when she was fighting to keep him and having him running around for drugs with him, couch surfing, and not feeding his diabetic child or giving him the insulin he needs, and continue to get high and not get him help as he was literally slowly dying because his needles were "stolen", which I bet meant sold being that he had needles for his drugs so that he didn't get dope-sick though. I'm in recovery and to put it into perspective for those that don't know, a 10 pack of insulin syringes is about $2.50, give or take a little depending on where you live, It would not have required him to sell back barely anything from his stash. without using words he said his kids life was worth $2.50 🤢. And he is definitely NOT sober now. He's got the "just woke up,but still exhausted" voice that is the theme song of opiates. And now he has a baby with another addict. That's terrifying. And heartbreaking for those kids. Idk why he is under the impression that his kids aren't better off with his mom. He says that when he signed the papers at the hospital that it wasn't what his son needed but he was doing what he needed, but it's the opposite, that's probably the best decision he ever made for that kid.

People have no idea how hard struggling with addiction is, and how it literally warps your brain into thinking you need to use or die. I have family members who suffer from addiction and I’ve seen them struggle and seen how miserable they are and how bad they want to get better but literally can’t.
It’s men like Josh, who open up and are vulnerable and honest about their history that allow other addicts to realize and learn that they are not alone, that there is help, and that recovery is possible. No one can say or do anything that will make him feel any worse than he has already felt about his past, and I hope and pray he has found forgiveness in himself for his past. All we can do is hope and pray for a better future for ourselves and our loved ones. I hope for a better future for everyone who feels the need to make someone feel worse after opening up and being vulnerable. It’s those with the most negative things to say who are usually struggling the most. Thank you Josh for your vulnerability and your honesty. And 4th comandnt of The law talks about The real Sabath being Saturday, sunday îs The first day of The week,! Sunday was implemnted as a day for christians to worship, when a pqgqn empwror, Constantin The great ,made a merge betwen his idolatry to The sun, therefore sunday, with christianity for a biger mass to rule over! Lather it was adopted by The Vatican qs own sign of power,(The popes claiming they have godly autority on earth bigest blasphemy)therefore Sunday or Deis Solis în latin became The day most of The xhristins worship! But I belive we truly, live în The Last times of The earth,s-o its very posibile to hear about The sunday decret, being given by Vatican and backed by The USA prety soon! The Vatican îs The first beast risen from sees(those are nations, this first beast with 7 heads and 10 horns one whom had a wound but healed îs Vatican and papacy,The wounded horn, was when Napoleons general took The pope and Abolished Catolic rulment în 1798,but as we can obviously see healed, and grows goong to al nations, trying to form The New world order, and The second beast wich rose from earth with 2 horns of a lamb, being USA,as USA îs The only superpower who got big, without without conquer, was byilt by mostly protestants în less thqn 150 years, and has at its constituțional base, The capitalitic right of free speech, and free worship of anykind! That will no longer be The case ,this second beast will give all its autority to The first beast, thqt means,it will fully back any law or decret given by Vatican! It May seem incredible or unreal but The Bible doesnt lie! The claim under they will give The inquisition decret for al those who dont rest on Sunday îs that, its because of them thqt ql wars, famens and climate change, come upon The earth! The Bible states thqt right before Jesuse second coming,Satn himself will come and portray as Hrist, this decive will be powerfull, as it wil be folowed by mqny miraculos and healings, werever it will apear,! But The Bible doesnt live us without warning to this either;Bible clearly states that when Jesus comes "all eyes will see him" Mathew 24:26,27 / 2Tesalonicens2:3,4 8,9,10 ! Getting into a relationship in the first year or two of sobriety is a way to throw away chances of healing and staying sober. That's why it's so important to listen to the basic suggestions in the program and your sponsor. What do people in early sobriety have to offer someone in terms of a healthy partnership? They say nothing changes if nothing changes and it's true. Spend time with family. Focus on yourself and on your family and make those living amends as much as possible. Do yoga. Meet other men who have long term sobriety. Do service work in your home group. Stay in the center.

There were so many details about the past and so little about how he got clean…how he is staying clean etc…are the twitches a permanent effect of the drug use and how do they impact his ability to play guitar? Would love to see a follow up on him. Worry what will happen if this marriage fails - I hope it doesn’t and that he finds peace and the ability to truly forgive himself.

As the interview time left wound down, I felt like it was a story that I didn't want to end watching. I feel also that still more time could be given to how he got and stays clean and wondering also about Josh's twitches as I've never done these harder drugs to know though I have seen and learned watching many of Mark's interviews.. I hope this is not a story that goes flat or worse back to the life and addiction Josh told us about... As you have compassionately said, I hope too that Josh finds peace and can be that "Phoenix rising from the ashes" for the sake of his older, precious son and baby son. I hope to god we get a follow up and that it's good and beautiful.

It’s very probable he’s completely sober and the drugs were a way to calm them down and not vice versa. I’m hoping he gets another year sober, and another year sober, and a lifetime of sobriety. May his son and wife be his priorities, they both deserve the decent human being he’s brought to life. He deserves the best for himself. May he find his continuance of growing and learning to respect himself and his sobriety.

@@chixw7856 No. Before artists put their name on their art, they didn't. I think this began to occur in the Renaissance. Before that, art was mostly devoted to someone else, like a holy figure. And the artist was basically unknown. Working a job as an artist, which includes carpentry and other crafts. Art means: skill as a result of learning or practice, practical skill, to fit together. There are still iconographers and carpenters and even writers and poets who treat their craft as a service rather than a self indulgence. Today art is nihilistic and ironic, fancy shock value, stories about me me me. It's more of our individualistic culture than the problem of art itself. I'm sure many artists throughout time were narcissistic and especially today as well, but not all. And especially, please don't give them credit for all the beauty in the world lol. It takes me two weeks after I have seen them to feel normal as I usually feel very depressed in their company. I hope you read this. You may get high but your lows will always out way your highs - your stories were full of chaos, drama and regret. Don’t think for one second that you can escape with the next high the tsunami of pain you bring to others lives including your own. The child could've been with the grandmother!
Can anyone plese explain why he wanted the kid with him because I don't understand.
Even the drug dealers told him he had to place the kid somewhere else!
    That says alot!
I'm sorry for saying this but to me this is pure egoism to drag a poor child around living in active addiction on heroin and meth.
Thank higher Powers he finally gave his son to his mother.
I wonder if an Autistic child ever gets over such trauma.
They're so much more vulnerable than regular people.
The most important thing is stability and they get such horrible anxiety from unstable sorroundings.

Hey mark. I got heavily addicted to opiates at the young age of 19 after my brother ended his life 2 years prior. I am now recovering and removing my neck and face tattoos and changing my life around working in a kitchen. Got 5 years to go to remove them. Would love to do an interview and share my story

Thank you Mark for this. When I saw the title I thought I would judge n when I heard him relapse over and over again I thought I would judge but by the end, when he stopped twitching like an addict and told the story about his now wife coming to save him I found myself genuinely rooting for him and sympathize for him. JOSH I only wish you the best of luck for your career and for your family!

Mark I really appreciate your patience with the long-form interviews. I think it's important for both the person sharing their story to be heard and to speak their truth, and in this case, to really express the remorse over selfish choices and powerlessness over the past. And understanding where they've come from should help us to accept and come alongside of these people as they move towards the future and live a better life. Sad to see so many suffering in so many different ways in these stories, and each one matters in the big picture

Thank you for your vulnerability. This is a great testimony of where a bad lifestyle choice can take someone. My heart aches for your child and the ways you abandoned, neglected and weren't there for him. I also know the shame, condemnation and guilt you live with. We all make mistakes in life. That's a reality, no matter what anyone says on here. However, many people choose to stay silent and live with the shame of that, whether it was done to us or we do it to someone else. You didn't do that! You shared your experience, strength, desperation, and hope.

Josh my heart breaks for your son and you. Drugs will strip you bare and take your soul until there is nothing left. However there’s still hope for you.
Keep writing!! You can inspire a generation of young people by sharing you’re story. You are evidently talented, erudite, intelligent and soulful. The image we see in the mirror is often not who we really are-but the madness distorts everything as you know.
It’s also not too late to have a loving and fulfilling relationship with your beautiful boy. To admit he was an inconvenience to your high must hurt man. Healing can only happen when the truth is acknowledged.
Change will happen if you desire it-your lad is not better off without you. He will need your presence in his life and you can help guide him from the pitfalls that inevitably await. The bond you have can never be broken.
You got a great energy too and creativity is clearly a part of your DNA. I appreciate the honesty of this moving testimony and there’s still hope for you. Count the blessings, your son is safe with your mother and you still have time. A lot of children get lost in the care system and there’s no chance of redemption or reconciliation-you have that opportunity still!!
I believe you can get it together and still make a difference in this topsy turvy world. I’m so sorry for your brother. I too lost a brother to the madness and I’m determined not to take the same route. There’s many other chapters to be written in the book of your life.
Try to walk the narrow path. All the self sabotaging, self destruction and self medication is just trying to quench the unquenchable void. Keep talking, try to keep clear of substance abuse and keep on keeping on!!
Please do an update with Mark.
God bless you, your son and those you love.
    🙏❤️.x

Josh, your "story" is enthralling, though of course, heart breaking and not so easy to hear. You are clearly a beautiful man and now the loving support of your wife. I hope to goodness you are able to forever stay clean and wish you encouragement and success in your life with your music and most importantly your relationship with your son - and your Mother.
Is there someplace online we can hear your music, your songs?
Mark, I hope with Josh's willingness we can see a follow up with Josh. I am moved to tears as surely many of us are, reminded also of the failures and regrets in our own lives. I sincerely wish you all the best and as you said, love spreading into all the corners. Thank you for sharing!

@gryffinberner Self promotion isn't keeping him sober. What are you talking about? His music and wife are what kept him sober, assuming his addiction was even that bad. Now he's using his "addiction" story to profit and promote his music. I'm not buying this dude's story one bit.

This story illustrates how horrible and deep addiction really is. His child was dying yet the drugs came first. I hope that child gets the help and love he needs to grow and thrive and not fall into this cycle himself when he gets older. It’s really difficult not to judge someone like this but I just hope he gets the help he needs as well because no shame and blame anyone else can throw at him will compare to what he has to come to terms with doing himself. Sigh.

This interview made me feel many things.
I’m so sorry for your son; the parts where he wasn’t even getting his basic medical needs met in particular, and how he would be so happy to see you when you’d wake up after getting high. Heartbreaking.
I appreciate that the path which opiates took you down was a terrible one in and of itself, but those who are disabled rely on those around them to be their advocates when they can’t make their own voices heard. I hope I don’t sound too sanctimonious when I say this, but, you should be eternally grateful that he’s still alive after all he was put through.
