17:55 I actually like those slushy gearboxes when they're paired with a powerful V8/V12 and fitted in a luxurious car. They might not be the best performance-wise, but they sound so satisfying.

1:39 Correction: The Rapide S was actually introduced as early as MY2014.
If you are in the market for one, consider MY2015 onwards, because the ZF 6-speed was replaced by the ZF 8-speed which is outright better in all aspects.

Aston Martin is the real gentleman's car ... there is nothing like it... the sound is so unique and u can easily recognise that it's the Aston by hearing the engine around the corner in the peak hour

Back in the day, I used to own a D3 Audi A8 w12 & my cousin had an Aston DB9 volante with the same v12 - it was the most beautiful engine, it felt alive & had real character to it which is something the w12 lacked.
How aston martin has managed to build a car longer than 5 meters with no back seat room and trunk space. Hope they are kidding XD

@@skelejp9982 - I've been in both cars.
1) There is no chance that a Daimler Super V8 with a 4 litre V8 Supercharged and 370 bhp beats this for acceleration. It just doesn't. Above 60mph, the Rapide absolutely murders it. From 0-124mph, it's a good 5 seconds slower than the Rapide.
2) The Super V8 might have more room but the Rapide is the infinitely cooler car. No disrespect to you but a Super V8 is just a tarted up X308 XJR with a longer wheelbase and electric rear seats. It looks old, it feels old. It's a car that belongs in the mid to late 1990's and I say that as someone who likes Jags and grew up with them.
For the sake of Max saying this Aston makes him horney @ 13:28, I agree with you buddy. Definitely some engine porn going on there.

- You're right on interior space. I'm just over 5ft 8 (1m 74) and sat behind a driver who was 5ft 11 (1m 80) for a couple of hours. Not the most commodious saloon I've ever been but it was far from uncomfortable for me. Had about the same room as a small hatchback in the back. However, anyone more than 6ft (1m 83) would definitely find it cramped particularly if they're behind someone that height or taller.
I presume you're in the 6ft 2 (1m 88) to 6ft 3 (1m 91) range?

Someone should replace the radio...look at it just flickering non stop. This is alot of car. Totally worth the money. I just looked up the prices for 2010 Rapide V12.. said..between 19,370K to 31,707K. All that savings..can certainly afford fixing an item or two. GORGEOUS CAR. I LOVE IT FOR THE 2 EXTRA BACK SEATS & fabulous V12engine and gorgeous leather. The back seats ALSO FOLD DOWN. YAH.. BIG PLUS.

I noticed there is a lot of Volvo in that Rapide. Indicator stalk, key and retainer on the dash, window switch gear, air vents. Wish my Volvo sounded like it though :( Thanks for another upload Dutchy
I starred at one that colour in Auckland NZ...for as long as I could, before the wife dragged me away....drool still seeping down my jaw. All I can say is, we both agree it's the best looking four (five ?), door work of art ever !!

Great video Martijn. I think this is the first time you repeatedly talked about being sexually aroused by this car, and personally, I don't blame you one bit. Surprised that you didn't complain about the headroom in the rear seat - is there decent headroom there? Shame about the kneeroom though. Ten years on, this car is still absolutely stunning & has a presence that no other luxury 4-door can compete with, so that is really saying something. What a glorious sound that V12 makes too!
I think it would have made more sense if you said, it makes any other car look like Toyota's and Ford's, refrigerators and washing machines don't drive, Its a nice video regardless awesome sounding machine!
Im saving money to buy one i know they need a clutch every 30k miles/50k kilometers (if its a toutchtronic aston martins flappy pattle gearbox) i know that but i only drive 8-10k miles/ 10-15 k kilometers per year and the v12 doesn’t have that many problems its a ford engine you can use ford parts

That's why you should never order the dash upholstery in a light color. It reflects badly onto the windshield in 95 % of all lighting conditions.

It's is everything but not "Rapide" .. v12 6.0 and the speedometer seems as it's for a v4 car.
