Love watching your videos. May I ask? Have you been able to find out why Goodwill is using the color discounts or senior citizens discounts anymore. I live near Fort Worth Texas and we have a lot of Goodwills and all of them have raised prices and completely stopped the discounts. I’ve had do exspand my thrifting to other thrift stores. Which is fine but I’m elderly and have a routine with my stores. 🤷♀️ If you do communicate with corporate maybe they’ll give you an explanation. Please let us know. Thank you Danny. ❤
I think soon “Goodwill” will be a thing of the past. Here in Indiana the prices for Goodwill have gone so high and inventory low that local folks near me have set up free kids clothes thrift store of their own and neighbors drop off things there for people to have for free. I call that true Goodwill!
Yes! Rate the Goodwills! 1-10, price, quality of items, quantity of items, cleanliness, friendliness, and music volume! My sister and I have talked about doing this for Goodwill Bins in Indiana!
Also, ease of parking, getting in and out of the parking lot, socioeconomic stadia of the surrounding areas that feeds items into that particular Goodwill and also whether the surrounding areas would be a good or bad thrifting hub (meaning, are there other thrift stores and antique malls nearby).
Rating the Goodwills in your area would be a good thing for all those resellers coming to your town. It would help visitors not waste their time going to the ones that won't profit them. I would watch that/those videos. Yes please!❤
Rate them by their use of destructive tape on items. (one of my nearby GWs destroyed a set of vintage culver glasses with tape) and also by placement of prices so they cover up the maker's mark (probably would have less price tag peeling if the price tags were located elsewhere).
Yes! I would greatly look forward to traveling along with you to the Goodwills in NV. Along with some of the other areas mentioned, I'd appreciate seeing a total spent and a total number of items purchased. *location* Goodwill may be more of a drive but if their overall cost of goods is better and I expect I could find a higher number of items to purchase, I'd definitely put that store on my list. A scoring of 1 to 5 stars would be fine. 🌟 Thanks for everything, Danni. I appreciate your time taking us through the good, the not so good, and the bad aka the ugly.
Goodwills prices are ridiculous now. They should concentrate on raising money and selling more than just making the most on 1 item. Especially when their profit on each item is 100%
True however....some would say due to resellers showing what they could potentially make on it why not raise the price. Personally I will shop GW first before buying from ebay
Absolutely do a rating of all of them! When I used to source there, I rated mine and then they all became the same overpriced all broken things on the shelf. It was ridiculous so I just stopped going and found other places to source from and it’s working out great! Goodwill will soon become a thing of the past…
I know this may sound silly, but you just don’t know how much joy I get when I see a video out from you….I could just watch videos of you shopping all day long…..it gives me such joy…..Even though I watch a lot of you tubers thrifters and enjoy their videos too there is just something about when I see a new video from you I get so happy.💕💕😎
I watched another reseller family today that went to the SAME Goodwill lol. You both picked up several of the same items and had the same reactions! I am surprised people haven’t started protesting outside about it not being Goodwill when they are ripping people off when getting items for free. It’s really sad.
Wow the prices are really getting hard for resellers, which I'm certain are their most spending people. Don't understand why they are not catering to the big spenders. I like your idea of rating the stores. I think it would be very interesting and helpful.
Was reading goodwill's business model and donations. And it says goodwill only accepts gently used items. So if they are not accepting these broken items, then they are getting broken on the shelves, so you are correct, danni
From Northen California, Goodwill prices are outrageous! I used to love haunting the stores but not so much anymore. I can't even buy clothes because ever since Covid, the dressing rooms have been permanently closed. I also love how you reunite pieces and give those you cannot buy a loving pat. Love all your videos Danni.
Yes Good Will is so high now I am about to stop going too. Even If I was only shopping for my self I would go to Good Will for good deals, but there is no good deals there anymore, might as well go to the big box store instead.
Milwaukee Goodwill stores are getting just as expensive as the ones in your videos. I can’t believe how they price what is clearly a set or a pair separately. That is just plain nonsense! Love watching you and learn so much. Thanks ❤
I do like the idea of having you visit all 16 Goodwill stores to rate them. It would be nice to know which ones you think are the best. Prices, ease of shopping, cleanliness, and safety of area are the most important considerations to me. Thanks Danni!
I think rating the GWs would be fun. Rate them on price, cleanliness and friendliest. I think the spinning organizer could hold scissors in deep compartment.
Yes, and a ruler, and a tall, thin "shopping list' style tablet, and business size envelopes, etc. Also, the smaller, tilted compartments would be perfect for different colors of Post-it pads.
Low income people cannot afford to buy at Goodwill anymore unless it’s at the bins. Here in Alabama all thrift stores are pricing high. 2 weeks later I see them throwing stuff in barrels to throw away
I totally agree. This store needs to be notched down a few on your list. It’s ridiculous the prices ! I wish we had more Goodwill in my area. Enjoy your videos ! ❤🇨🇦
I like the idea of rating the Vegas goodwills…. Which ones sell the most quality merchandise? Which ones are the most organized? Which store has the most helpful employees?
Yesssssss! Pricing, organization, does it have gardening/ yard stuff, tools, kitchen electrical, art? Which one is best for each cats gory above…. Best day to go to each?
I just found your videos recently and I like them. I am from Minnesota, and I have seen prices go so high! It’s like they don’t have anybody who knows what is valuable and what came from the dollar store. I think your idea to visit and rate the stores in your area is a good idea.
I don't plan on going to Vegas at all, but I still think I would love to hear your thoughts about them.....What YOU look for, what YOU think needs improving, etc.....I trust your expertise. I find myself shopping thrift differently since I started watching your videos...I am learning sooo much, even thought I am not reseller. I often times find myself saying things you would say...lol...I can recognize many different things now, and I know now what you mean when you say, pick it up, touch it, you will learn the difference just by felling it. You bring such joy to my day. Thank you for being you.
The Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia have taken away their discount program altogether. No Senior, Military, or any other discount days. They said it's because they've lowered their prices. I chuckled when the Employee told me that! What a joke. I would love to see you rate the Goodwills in your area.
I so look forward to your videos! I ALWAYS watch your videos first! I can’t get out as much as i use to so,it’s so enjoyable to see you shopping in goodwill. As far as the ratings of goodwill, i would definitely like comparison on prices, quality of items, cleanliness, the attitude of employees, how neat and straight the counters are, which makes it easier looking for items. Thanks for taking us along! ❤
I am a part-time reseller and I think prices at Goodwill are up nationwide. I am in Chicago and prices are crazy high. And they got rid of senior and military discounts. They are forcing me to look elsewhere when I'm am sourcing.
I think the rating video sounds fun! 🤩 I love when you compare and contrast your finds with the appropriate price. Perhaps also the goodwill could be rated on missing prices, chipped pieces, bad pricing and the number of vacuums tested on your trip 😂lol
It's nice to see what you can get for things resale because it shows me the good deal I got buying it for myself at the thrift store instead of the huge markup through a reselller!
Yes, the same here in Southern California. The prices are very high. GW workers told me that they get a monthly target for their profits, and they try to reach their target by marking the prices high.
I think rating them all in the same areas would be very interesting!! I have a Goodwill near me, where if I want electronics/hardgoods, I go to that one...If I want better quality clothes, but hit and miss hardgoods, there is another one 6 miles away.
Enjoy your shopping trips because you are always identifying items, explaining why/why not you’re picking them and and other tidbits of information. My Goodwill and other thrift store shopping criteria are 1) location, 2) staff, 3) items in store and prices, and 4) ease of getting around. I have trouble walking so super crowded aisles are or stairs with no elevator can be very difficult.
The ring box and the birds can be painted if you lightly sanded and put mode podge them. After you paint them paint them again with mode podge to seal the paint.
I'm not a reseller, Danni, but I've noticed that the prices keep going up every few months. I live in Ontario, Canada. I don't understand why they keep raising the prices on used items that they get for free. I donate a lot to goodwill. Perhaps I should just have garage sells in the spring and summer.
It would be interesting to see all of your Goodwill stores rated, but I'm wondering if the individual stores really have control over their donations. Do they send the good stuff to a central hub or does everything stay with the store it was dropped off at? My local store always has tons of overflow in an outdoor covered area so I really doubt they keep it all. It seems like a very convoluted system. I'm finding fewer and fewer resellable items overall, not just the crazy high priced items. My local store isn't huge, but does carry every category of goods.
Yes, going to all the different Goodwill will show to your audience the difference.. Thank for teaching us about reselling and what to look for... I wish some of the other resellers that do You Tube videos take your class in reselling and etiquette.... They can learn from you Danni....
When I saw the pink glass bud vases I immediately thought of the box of clear ones you referenced! Every reseller I’ve seen that goes to Goodwill all say the same about the high prices. And they are all over the US. A 16 Goodwill series would be fun to watch, even if I don’t’need’ to know 😅
The most important thing is pricing followed closely by selection - generally I've found they are tied pretty closely together - better stuff in better prices stores. I can deal with the rest but pricing and selection are by far at the top of my list. Definitely a series that would do well as it will have Goodwill in the name. I think those do the best cuz everyone in the country has a good will vs Thrift stores, charity shops and antique stores and or malls vary widely from area to area. Good luck on the new series!
Love watching you Our Goodwill has got rid of all discounts My friend runs a goodwill and says when stuff comes in if an employee wants it they remove price tag so on their days off they can purchase it SO WRONG but what do you do
Those candles with lids, made in Vietnam are dollar store candles. Never been disappointed with them. They burn all the way or pretty darn close to it. I only buy single wick candles, if I buy any. I have a few beeswax candles made by a friend whose bees supplied the wax, they are great to burn when one is not feeling as refreshed ... I think the beeswax have healing properties!
I would love the Goodwill rating series. I would be interested in how well stocked the store is, the pricing and cleanliness. I would also find it interesting to see if the current rating matches what you've thought in the past. Thanks Danni!
Just an fyi. You can paint glass/ceramic . I've been doing it for over 10 years. Use a multisurface paint that's available at any craft store $2-$3 for a 2 Oz bottle. It will air cure in 30 days or you can bake in the oven for 30 min. Directions on the bottle..I have pieces over 10 years that i have also put in the dishwasher that are still like new.
Omg! I almost died when you said "Hey Boo Boo" as I said the exact same thing in my head. My late sister n I ALways used to say that! 😂 Thanks for the memory...❤
I think going to every GoodWill and doing a comparison of the different stores is a great idea. What's important to me when shopping at thrift stores are the following... 1. Cleanliness of not only the store but also the merchandise on the shelves (ie; broken items cleared away and not putting really dirty items even on their shelves. 2. Friendliness of the store employees. 3. Not over crowding the aisles, two carts should be able to pass one another without hitting each other. If there are dirty and broken items and a store is not clean, I don't want to be picking things off their shelves. As well as; if employees are not friendly or a stores merchandise is too crowded together I tend to just leave the store and shop elsewhere. I don't have the patience or time to battle my way through a store that's dirty and unwelcoming .
Omgness 😂😂😂 you did it again the same way you got me laughing on Elmo years ago you just got me rolling again on the little gnome 😂😂😂😂 but why ? Why not lol thanks for the laugh 😂 I really love watching you . I think you should have bought the whole box of them bobbleheads because no matter what holiday they are people would like them you could have given them as a free gift with orders 😊😊😊😊
Thanks for speaking out what we all feel! Goodwills in Arizona are hit and miss. There is one that I can still get fair prices at . They were raising their prices like the rest but customers complained and now it is reasonable again. Nothing like a couple of years ago but relatively compared to todays prices.Rating is a great idea!
I think this would be a wonderful comparison - pricing - ease of shopping - staff friendliness - neatness - organization - quality - damaged items - etc Awesome I can’t wait lol 🎉
I'm not a reseller, but I WILL tell you that I no longer shop at Goodwill. I feel their prices have gotten ridiculously high. It's a shame, too, because I usually find something useful to purchase.
I know sometimes you can find something a Goodwill, but I like the most you go to estate sales, antique stores and booths and other things like that you seem to find much more and better stuff that I recognize and I buy also. We only have one Goodwill in my area and it’s teeny tiny and it’s not even worth going there. We have thrift stores we have to go to antique store or something like that or St. Vincent de Paul to find, good stuff.
I’ve done this, and have found 3 that I will go to regularly. ( Texas) I use my list Prices, customer service, cleanliness. The one closest to me has stopped the. Discounts, it was my favorite one. I’ve had to expand my thrifting to mama n papa shops.
Danni That little beat you play ( frame 18:19 + ) is stuck in the back of my mind. I'll be doing something, an start B Bopping around to the tune. ( not complaining ) It just took me a couple of videos later to figure out where it came from. lol Guess it works ! Wonder how many others do the same ?? :~)
I paint over glazed ceramic pieces all the time. If you use the right products it won’t scratch off. There are a couple different ways that work. First make sure your surface is clean and dry then apply a coat of SLICK STICK, It’s made by Dixie Belle, and you can order it online or find retailers in your area online. It makes paint stick to slick surfaces like glazed ceramics. After the Slick Stick is dry paint with a Chalk Paint with a built in sealer. In case you are unfamiliar with chalk paint it is just a chalk based paint and it comes in every color. It is not chalkboard paint. Some come with a built in sealer and some don’t. Either one will work. If I use one without a sealer I like to add a clear sealer when I’m done painting piece. This is just how I like to do it and my first pieces from 7 years ago still look great. I just use a damp cloth to dust them when cleaning 😁
On pricing: from what I have seen it is definitely a manager thing. Done are smart enough to understand in the long run volume beats a few pieces at higher prices. And it helps that stores donations - many people donate and then shop - the whole in 1 out 1 philosophy. But if you can't find anything reasonable in the place you donate - you find somewhere else to donate. I see it all the time. The turn over of merch in well priced stores is awesome - in high priced ones - I've seen the same stuff even after a month or more. I have done amazing GWs and done that used to be great that are now lousy. I stopped shopping at those. Hopefully you'll find the good ones! Blessings!
You found a few things. I am not a reseller but my local Goodwill's prices are going up so I can see how it would be difficult to make money. I think ranking the Goodwill's is a good idea. Your criteria sounds good. Some of the breakage is customers but also Goodwill employees when they are intaking merchandise and putting it out.
I am in Phoenix and this past weekend we had a grand opening at our new Goodwill. I was devastated at the prices that I was seeing. I thrift Revere Ware and for a 3 quart saucepan, no lid and filthy, they were asking$9.45. I normally get them for $5.00
The pricing is very similar here in SoCal but not just at Goodwill, it's happening at pretty much all the thrift stories. Also, if they are selling on their websites or have their own ebay stores, a lot of the higher end brands and/or more (perceived) valuable items get re-directed from the stores to be sold online.
It bears repeating: The retail shelves are a loss leader for the donations to keep flowing. The stores are a shell for convenient donation drop off locations. They are wise to sell everything not broken or crappy on line. They keep the prices high to facilitate filling in less and putting stuff online more. Times are changing
I want to thank you for all your content in these yrs where I have learned. About 5 yrs now not one show missed. I wanted to reach out to you because I know your passion with tortoise’s, also you lived in So Ca. Watching the wild fires in Eaton Canyon they were waking them up under homes. The chances that these beautiful creatures are going to get good care will be slim. I don’t know what I am asking but maybe you can find them and guide them. Thank you again for teaching me all I have learned. God Bless
@ That makes me so happy. When I saw that clip them pulling them from under the house I knew you would know what to do. My family goes 140 yrs back in Pasadena and all of this just tugs at my heart. Thank you for caring
I think that would be fun and quite interesting for you to go to all the different Goodwill shops. I know it would be kinda hard for you though, but if you’re willing, of course you know it would be interesting to find out which ones are good and which ones you know you could kinda go I’ll do without
ha ha ha ..i am laughing because I was saying to myself.. "silly girl those pictures would fit in your bathroom..don't think so hard"..then you said.......

I believe it’s nationwide. My local Goodwill in New Mexico has lost their minds with high prices.
Yep..do it. Sounds like fun. Main concern with all goodwill is their outrages prices. Take care😊

It was ridiculous so I just stopped going and found other places to source from and it’s working out great! Goodwill will soon become a thing of the past…
I completely agree with you about drinking out of metal!
Yes the goodwill series would be good. You could do it as your best finds.
At 56:59 you found the two porthole frames. I love them!!
Same here .... !!!
Thank you so much, it means a lot to me!
You mean a lot to us!
Dani and Noah are a team! They are the #1 celebrity thrifters on RUclips!!! Love these guys!!!
Agree
I watched another reseller family today that went to the SAME Goodwill lol. You both picked up several of the same items and had the same reactions! Yes! Please rate them. I’m visiting LasVegas in March. The Goodwills in Mass. are dirty!
I love the idea of you grading the goodwills in Vegas. It would also be a wake up call for them because you know they watch you!
Yes. Pricing, period. They need a reality check.
Re-sellers are the ones that ruined thrifting for everyone else, especially people who relied on thrift stores.
This is simply not true.
Yes Good Will is so high now I am about to stop going too. Even If I was only shopping for my self I would go to Good Will for good deals, but there is no good deals there anymore, might as well go to the big box store instead.
The cow napkins were purple tagged. Weren’t they the sale color?

Missouri, outrageous prices! Prices higher than eBay!! Looking forward to yard sale season!
I think rating the GWs would be fun. Rate them on price, cleanliness and friendliest.
I think the spinning organizer could hold scissors in deep compartment.
That’s what I thought too, that scissors would go there!

I like your idea for the goodwills evaluations..Laura Caldwell traveled over 50 goodwills recently but she didn’t do a comparison I like this idea!
I like the idea of rating the Vegas goodwills…. Which ones sell the most quality merchandise? Which ones are the most organized? Which store has the most helpful employees?

Hi Dani! Im in PA and yes, the prices in some of my Goodwills are high! Some are reasonable but it depends on the items too.

Yes, a rating of the Goodwills would be cool. You could call it your Goodwill Safari! Prices are #1 for me. It's a great idea, Dani!
I really like that spinning oak desk organizer! Very cool.
Put a ruler in the center
Yes to visiting goodwill's ,that woud be great. Love to see the difference in quality and price.

Rating the Good Wills sounds interesting!

Pool noodles are great for keeping your boots from folding while stored too!
Rating all the GWs sounds like fun
Rating the Goodwill’s sounds like a good idea. I love it. I can’t wait to see it.
I like the idea of the series on rating Goodwill stores, maybe focusing on the amount of unpriced items and whether they were desirable items.
Enjoy your shopping trips because you are always identifying items, explaining why/why not you’re picking them and and other tidbits of information. My Goodwill and other thrift store shopping criteria are 1) location, 2) staff, 3) items in store and prices, and 4) ease of getting around.
Love watching you
Our Goodwill has got rid of all discounts
My friend runs a goodwill and says when stuff comes in if an employee wants it they remove price tag so on their days off they can purchase it
SO WRONG but what do you do
Those candles with lids, made in Vietnam are dollar store candles.
Price gouging at its finest....
She can't bake it in the oven--it's not safe for the birds.
I love the background you add to all the items. Your videos are great!
I think this would be a wonderful comparison - pricing - ease of shopping - staff friendliness - neatness - organization - quality - damaged items - etc
Awesome I can’t wait lol 🎉
Yes! Please rate them. I learn so many interesting things from you and would love to learn to rate the GWs in the Bay Area.
Blessings!
Yes, rate them. Price and orderliness of products for me.
Are you concerned that they might not allow your filming if you rate them?
Well I think they would find it valuable! We'll see!
I'm a reseller from Colorado, and our Goodwill stores have definitely increased all of their prices, and inventory is way down, very sad.
That's horrible
I've heard they make their money by selling to overseas markets
I want to thank you for all your content in these yrs where I have learned. About 5 yrs now not one show missed. I wanted to reach out to you because I know your passion with tortoise’s, also you lived in So Ca. Watching the wild fires in Eaton Canyon they were waking them up under homes. The chances that these beautiful creatures are going to get good care will be slim. I don’t know what I am asking but maybe you can find them and guide them. Thank you again for teaching me all I have learned. God Bless
I am working with my rescues and have my name on a list to help any way I can.
@ That makes me so happy. When I saw that clip them pulling them from under the house I knew you would know what to do. My family goes 140 yrs back in Pasadena and all of this just tugs at my heart. Thank you for caring
All of you ideas sound great. Please do that, maybe even some of the other stores as well. Even your antique stores as well. Great video ❤
Yep, a good idea to rate the local Goodwills. Cleanliness/smell; friendliness/helpfulness of employees, pricing/value
I think that would be fun and quite interesting for you to go to all the different Goodwill shops. I know it would be kinda hard for you though, but if you’re willing, of course you know it would be interesting to find out which ones are good and which ones you know you could kinda go I’ll do without
I did Diploma in ceramics and paint will not take to glazed items. It will be streaky and will flake off.
Thank you so much for all your videos, some of us can’t always go out but you take us along and we appreciate you!!❤❤❤❤
ha ha ha ..i am laughing because I was saying to myself.. "silly girl those pictures would fit in your bathroom..don't think so hard"..then you said.......
Yes love the idea of a comparison video. Love the stores with packed shelves. God Bless !!!
Great video. That would be fun to visit those goodwills. It would be a good series. Definitely price comparison would be interesting. 😊
If you're going to paint be bird use chalk paint - it should stick best (or add baking soda to acrylic paint for similar effect)
