We're at a crazy point in synth history where you can buy hardware cheaper than the plugin.
All digital items should be piratable due to no one being harmed from the process.
@@fortheloveofnoise9298 apart from people losing their jobs, falling in to poverty, losing their homes, and no more products on the market, sure, no harm done!
Thank the good lord above.
always has been
@@fortheloveofnoise9298They are. Try looking harder, commie.
Just got mine today. I was afraid it was gonna be too menu divy. Naaahh, it doesn't even feel like you're menu diving. Everything is quickly accessible, easy to tweak, intuitive and at a reach. The only thing I needed the manual for was how to save a preset. I got to say, I am heavily impressed. Got it, unboxed, pluged into my phone charger, grabbed my headphones, powered it on, got on my couch making patches and tweaking everything. I truly got lost and forgot something else than me and the synth existed. I got to say, when I finally noticed the cats... their expressions have let me know that they've been hungry for hours waiting for me to notice them. I'm alive but damn fun micro synth tbh. Good job Berhinger! P.S. No cat was harmed during this review. The human has some scratches. The cats weren't truly hungry, had all the food they want, but they wanted that other flavour.
Plus (and this may be just my cat as he’s very old)
It is less sit-able on being so tiny
My cat always finds my Korg M1 or mixing desk most comfortable😼 😡😝
I love how they keep adding different tiny items next to it for scale!
the spoon was hilarious lol
I love how the keys are arranged. You get an octave PLUS a scale tone lower and higher. That way you can resolved to the root from the subdominant and from the second scale degree. If it was c to c that would imply starting and endinh at the lowest or highest note for C major key melodies. This small change opens things up so much.
This will look so cute on top of my JP8000
My dream would be a full jp-8000 reboot. ❤ 90's trance was, and always will be, the 💣
I do wish it had a dedicated midi port, that keeps me from using it live. But it’s still amazing
How is the bigger keyboard linked in this video?
@@dankauffmanmusic via USB through a computer most likely. I doubt that little thing can be a USB host, and both it and the keyboard had to be powered via the USB as well. There’s likely a laptop off screen.
@@ilovecatsandsynths9702 I think it can since it's a type c port, they have enough amps usually.
Can this be used with your DAW to record with midi.
@@langa2s It has USB midi so it should work well with a DAW.
It is one of the best Behringer synths. But we need midi connections (in/out) to use it in our live setups to enjoy it fully-featured . Thank you
UNDERSTATEMENT
That was a corner that shouldn't have been cut, even if they had to resort to 3.5mm sockets for MIDI.
Usb.
I thought they said it has usb midi
@@lordundhimself1310 only USB, which is the complaint
So does this mean it can't be used within a DAW/Sequencer?
What a lovely sound in such a tiny box
Pretty cool, but no dedicated midi port is kind of a deal breaker. They could have al least included a 3.5mm midi port.
It's got USB midi so ....
We need to get rid of those ancient midi ports
I agree but at least it has USB midi
@@DarrenSangita except that means it is unusable without a computer as far as control goes. if it at least has a trs midi you could use it as a standalone
@@DarrenSangita... So it's not enough.
Sounds great, just wish I had the space for it
Why is this 80s if the JP8000 came out in 97? A full size would be great.
Because the jp8000 was already an 80's (Jupiter) inspired synth.
@@N1h1L3 But the JT is a JP mini, thus 97. But I see your point.
Well I’ve ordered one from Andertons in the UK. These are so tiny it’s going to be easy to fit them in the little gaps between other stuff.
Ok nice synth. But where is the typical massive supersaw sound 🤔
@behringer. Guys can we please have a real (eurorack) size or desktop version version as well. It’s all very cute but it’s only fun for a few minutes then all the limitations sink in when trying to do real work on it.
Things like carrying twenty things and adapters and power strips and bla bal.
The sound is amazing, thank you for the design but can we please have a professional version of each of these?
Very cool! I'm looking forward to it! Can't wait for the mini version of the Jupiter-8!
And the full-size version too! When that comes out I will probably compare it to the Boutique JP-08.
@@ironinquisitor3656In the wake of the destruction the entire internet will begin hyping digital and everyone that prefers digital will cringe.
@@zap7759 Nah, that already happened way back... Now people take the best of both worlds and happily mix things in their compositions.
oh but you'll have to wait...and wait, and wait. and if you're lucky it's real but half their announcements never materialize.
WHERE IS THAT SUPERSAW????? Man I waited for this but well the main feature of the JP8000 is not there…or did the marketing team go too full on 80s to program some real 90s/00s Trance patches??? Much respect, Tobi
From what I saw it seems like it does have supersaw but not the metal osc. But I don't know how you adjust the supersaw parameters, so I'm waiting for a review.
I love that crunchy DAC. If a knobby version of this comes out, I'm so there. Stick it in the same form factor as the Pro One and Neutron, and I'll love you forever.
Congrats for the fun video! Excellent video team!
Can't wait for the smaller version to this one, no but who else is rocking it like Behringer.
That super oddly placed USB-C port is a time bomb for sure.
Yea, best to get a 3 meter cable and just leave it plugged in at all times.
@@fortheloveofnoise9298 it has no MIDI DIN/3.5mm input/output, so it's not like you will have a choice
😅
Sounds great, but I would have loved to hear some trance style leads/arpeggios using the Supersaw waveform.
Right
I still have my JP8000. Love it.
Freaking awesome!!!! I Really hope this is the future of the form factor of hardware synthesizers. Affordable and super portable.
Amazing, pumping out banger after banger - just wish it had midi! Also, is the Pro VS Mini polychainable? Love you guys!!!
Originally the JP8000 was used as a Trance and Techno synth. I think What Behringer have done here has reprogramed the same engine with vintage patches.
It doesnt sound like a jp8000 though
@@rijksvoorlichtingsdienst4427 yeah its like a really dry jp8000 muckoff without chorus, eq, delay, the original digital filter charcter and the crazy fast clicky envelopes :) All of these are the real soul of the original jp8000/8080.
You can't have everything they say. Line-in for filtering delight would make it truly full-fledged 😊 Can't refuse the portable factor and my love for mini gear ❤❤
Really liking this one!! Definitely coming into the studio.
Got mine today, wonderful, simply amazing!
The original JP-8000 had a 18-bit DAC, though
Preordered today! I’m hoping Behringer do a full JT-8000 as well ❤️
This!!! @behringer
Sounds very promising but let's hear some Push and Ferry Corsten style trance riffs now
The 12 bit dac is a stroke of genius here
Yes. Not enough people are talking about it. I think few people know what a DAC is let alone what it does. The end result should always be analogue, as speakers are analogue and so are our ears.
@@Answersonapostcard without the analogue signal, we wouldn't be able to hear it to begin with, speakers can _only_ take analogue
So what's the deal with the 12-bit DAC?
@@Jason75913 it converts digital to analogue for a less digital sound.
@@Answersonapostcard So, without an analogue signal, we wouldn't be able to hear it to begin with, every digital synth has a DAC because speakers and headphones _only_ take an analogue signal. Digital doesn't work, and when speakers do take a digital signal, then they have their own (often lo-fi) DAC so they can produce sound because speakers _only_ take analogue.
Is this "12-bit DAC" just some marketing junk like Sony with their "1-bit DACs" in their Discman CD players?
@@Jason75913 I was wondering the same. No DAC, no sound, hardly a feature.
Really looking forward to the Hirotribe groovebox, hopefully that one is up soon!
I'm terribly curious myself.
Interest in this as well. I’d love to use this and a Hirotribe controlled by a Circuit Tracks with each device outputting to a mini stereo mixer.
I dreamed of a JP8000, but bought a Mac desktop instead! Now, nothing would need be left out.
12 bit dac is amazing , some textures r so cute
Cute little thing. Kinda hoping there will be a more fully featured module version with a nice knbby interface and at least 8 voices though :) Not sure if it sounds particularly like JP-8000 though.. it almost sounds too good and fat, and kinda seems to miss that plasticy gloss which every JP 8000 sound has.
Just commented the same👍👌☺️👍 it seem's making too small toys is not our fist concerns, but playing music with lot of them if the sound is good, so mounting it in our setup, as we have no place on a desk to place it. As I said, it would be interesting to see what version will have the best success on the market .
I think it's missing the hp filter per voice - which lowers the aliasing on the original and gives it that big plastic sound - along with the chorus and delay.
"Inspired by", not cloned. It has a real analog filter, for example, not found on the original. Sounds better imo. Never did like the JP though.
Sa sonne bien gras en tout cas
Sounds surprisingly good for such a small package
I preordered one of these back in April. I am so excited for this. I love these smaller synths. I love that it can be powered by a phone or battery pack and take it anywhere to jam on it. Sounds good.
From where? I don't see it for pre order anywhere.
Behringer keeps impressing me every single year. Well done! ✌️😎💯
Nice, sounds pretty awesome for such a small box. ❤
Your on fire behringer, i know you got some more awesomeness soon to come
I really hope u make a fs version
Transposed a stenography keyboard onto an NKRO keyboard, and then placed piano on top of that. I've got 4 fully functional scales in 30 keys. Been looking for an affordable synth. This appears to be the one. Thanks for a great review.
It would be nice to have an audio input like Korg has on the NTS series and Monotrons to run through that 12 bit DAC output.
Yes but please make the quality of the soldering to the PSB much stronger than the NTS1 that's extremely poor.
I’m gonna collect all the minis and micros
Absolutely love it
Sounds great
Immediately ordered. Thank you Behringer; keep them coming!
Where did you order it from? I don't see it available anywhere.
@@Fabian_drop02 Hi. I’m in the U.K. it’s on preorder at Anderton’s Music. Good luck. 😃👍🏻👍🏻

My friends are gonna be getting some of these this Christmas 🎅🏻
That opening track is GOLD 🥂
Here in Brazil we name these micro synths as The Behringer Cupcakes
Yay caught em when they had em! It’s on the way!
Come one guys. Get them out to Sweetwater or Guitar Center. I've been waiting for this line of synths. I'm getting ALL of them
Was also Ferry Corsten’s absolute staple for all of his big classic tunes ❤
Trance Legend 🙏🔥🔥
Might still be, I've seen in a video that Giuseppe Ottaviani is a JP-8k lover and has one.
No 3.5mm MIDI? What is the point of this device?
This is great! Should we wait for the full version of JT-8000?
No MIDI port, that is a deal breaker. Even 3.5 mini jack ports would have been alright.
yea, weird the way they went but I think they figured more people would be hooking up to a PC than a keyboard....but not you or I obviously
It has a MIDI IN right on the top!
Right?
This would have perfect to with all my other little synths but no midi? Come on
I think you can use usb to midi adapter for it pretty easily. bit more cumbersome but still compact.
The problem with USB is you have to connect a USB device to a USB host, while with standard DIN or TRS midi you can connect device to device. So unless your midi controller can be a USB host and provide power, you’d need a 3rd device (computer or other USB host device) to connect a controller to the synth. They managed to fit a DIN MIDI port on the Pro VS, but no room for even a TRS port on this one?
Smells like AudioPilz in here!1
Ja Liebe Marketingabteilung, 1 Stück gleich nach Wien spedieren.🎉
@@gaborb6577Behringer spedieren gar nix. dazu gabs doch gerade erst vor ein paar Tagen ein offizielles Statement hier :)
I loved muh JP8080 rack synth. It had a vocoder that could use on board sound and input.
5:20 Freaking sounded amaazziiing
All I can say is: it'd better come with a wrist-strap
PS: I still think it'd be logical to do eurorack voice module versions of all these mini and nano sized palmtop synths
Indeed!
Just commented the same 😺👍🤗the idea is in the air!
Imagine key chaining it on your backpack lol.
Eurorack versions are a no brainer. The only issue is what do you make CV controllable and how much more engineering will that take? I’d love to see it though.
Put the swing in the video and everything. Behringer is straight savage. I like it lol
Damon‼️🤯…that sounds good!
Just ordered one of these from Andertons now that they finally have them back in stock. 👍
Amazing, I want one. Something that turns that monster into a micro module is special indeed 👌🏽
Love the exercise video. It’s not weird. It’s perfect glam trance
My JP had the glue keys issue so I sold it, if this can do the super saw well, I will pick one up.
My recommendation for an easy synth for Behringer to make that would be a hit would be a Prodigy.
absolutely
Haha that intro was awesome!
Just turned it on and default Fatsaw low C note fits right into Van Halen Jump. Amazing instrument.
So I presume the power input/midi combo if it's connected by midi to another device that will give it power also? Because otherwise how do you get the power if its midi connected to another device
It will look cute on my jp8000!!
Been waiting for over a year for this thing! When does it go on sale?????
midi input?
Ya quiero que llegue a México 🇲🇽❤️, saludos Uli behringer!!!
cant wait to get it
Come on guys, you are costing me a fortune with all this new Mini/Micro Tech you are bringing out. Things like this are a dream to the many people with little room and is a great way to get that big synth sound on a budget.
Ahh, another Behringer video to bring back the memory of you guys wanting to charge me for a power adapter when you sent out a synth with the wrong one for my region in it. Fun times.
Same issue for 7 synths....
Hi friends
Greetings from Loopop!
Yes, Please send 1 piece for him for tutorial video🎉
Really Behringer another micro synth? Who are you making these for?
Bedroom producers and hobby musicians
I was always wondering Behringer, in what synth does this sound come out at 1:31 please (that arpéggio sound). You always put it in every single video. Thank you
Hello,
First of all, and as i already said previously about the pro vs mini, It sounds really good for me.
But although i was very enthusiast at first glance one year ago, i am not sure now to pull the trigger on them considering my specific needs (dawless setup) :
- no built-in power source,
- no din or trs midi for the jt-4000,
- limited or inexistent built-in sequencer.
I totally understand certain limitations (no built-in battery for instance) chosen to keep the costs as low as possible and/or for environnemental concerns.
But as small devices with a form factor ideal to be carried everywhere, the ability to be truly self-contained without the need for other accesories (powerbank, usb midi host, sequencer...) is a great advantage.
I own already several behringer products, so i am not against you.
I don't know how much the "dawless" hobbyists like me "weight" in the musical market, but from my experience there is a real need for compact and affordable tools like external sequencers, usb midi host, compact mixers... i don't know if you are planning products in these fields but they could be game changers !
I now wait for the hirotribe ; can't wait !
I agree. Here it is 86% the price of the Pro VS mini, too.. which has way more controls and MIDI that doesn't rely on USB. I'm sure this ultra tiny form factor was originally supposed to come in around half the price of the larger (small) format. Not even 3.5mm TRS MIDI onboard is a bit of a killer
I also wait for hirotribe, and your train travel jams with this one.🎉
@@gaborb6577thank you for your support. Unfortunately I might not buy this one soon unless I find a simple way to integrate it in my workflow...
J'aime bien mais je travaille aussi sur ordinateur avec des bon plugins.
@@bigkiksome having access to this thing please tell us if usb midi is android compatible and if a normal phone can supply ?
Nice sounds 👌
Is it possible to connect the JT4000 directly to an USB keyboard ? In this video it looks like that, but both USB cables end somewhere outside the frame. . .
Can you control the "mix" and "detune" parameters of the supersaw?
This is sick! Hopefully someone can make a controller plug in for this
Yeah it would be nice if there was a MIDI USB controller that could plug right into USB only MIDI devices like this.
If you buy two you get the spanner to control it for free , there will also be a version released that runs of a floppy.
Is this a paraphonic synth with 1 analog filter shared by all 4 voices, or does it have a filter per voice? The last demo with the droning bass and melody played over it sounds like it has per-voice filters, but at that size and price point I’d be surprised if it does.
Yeah that’s what I’d like to know as well.
Cool start off synth or companion to a sampler like an mpc live/one or SP404 etc. Other than that its not doing anything other synths cant if you already own some. But for synths in that price range and size it.... SUPER DOPE
Definitely a unique character. Oscillators are a little too lofi for me, but I could definitely see someone making cool sounds with this.
I refuse to buy a synth if it's bigger than my teaspoon!! Luckily this one passes that test and so it shall be mine 😂. Very cool sound too so I'll be even happier
Does each voice have its own filter, or is there a single filter for all voices? It's hard to hear in the demo because I found no multi trigger playing.
Very nice!. Please make the Behringer X-Touch Mini compatible with the device for programming sounds like a progammer :)
It’s insane what you can get for your money these days! The quality of these devices is mind blowing to those of us who grew up in the 70’s!
I hear lots of Chip Tune sounds, in there... I don't really hear the JP8000 sound... But it's still a nice tiny synth indeed...
I may get one... but I own a JP-8000 and love it.
Would love to see a comparison between the two.

Hi, I didn’t see anything at the Behringer site about this synth. Is it already for sale (at Thomann for example). How much does it cost?
All marketing team needs to do is keep up the good work :)
Sounds great for the price 🎉
Hope they bring out a module version without keys for this one ;-)
does it have the gritty delay w/ feedback? can't have a JP-8000/8080 without the internal delay. it's an integral part of many of the sounds. It's also not exactly easy to replicate w/ external hardware/software even though it's a simple delay.
Seems like no supersaw either so all in all not really a replica if this is the case, just more analog 80s synth which is ok but it aint a 90s synth then. Btw, it was a VA synth so not sure why this here is analog?
