- With the 1.21 update comes armadillos, and with armadillos comes a scute farm! The solarpunk base gets an expansion with some new aesthetics.
However, it seems the permit office has taken issue with the shopping district nether portal... Now what shall we do about that?...

If the Permit Office continues to bother you about the portal you can always just hide it under a bunch of scaffolding with signs like "Destruction imminent in the next 3 months" or "in the process of being torn down" etc. And then after a few months you put up new signs: "Construction in the works. Expected completion in 4 months" or so. That way they can't argue about it since it's a process(like Iskall's Apartments xD)
Another step to turn the Hermitcraft government into a real bureaucracy, infinite construction sites!!!
Just write "Will be done in 3 - maybe 4" - and then don't ever specify 3 or 4 what. days? weeks? months? years?

@@WackoMcGoose I very much *can* believe they had to do that. Makes complete sense since the vast majority of UK spiders are harmless, the worst we get in the UK is the False Widow and Giant House Spider, which can bite, but their venoms are just irritants to humans. But many Aus spiders are far more dangerous and even deadly, especially for a child.
This gave my brain an idea, when the actual portal eventually gets built, all of the characters from the current portal can be built somewhere else, walking away from the portal spot using their cursed limbs.
Would be hilarious to just have them tucked in along the flightpath on the netherroof for some of the long distance destinations, for a nice out-of-the-fog jumpscare. XD

If it helps, it did 20d4 psychic damage to ME. My sanity is currently writing on the floor, "alive but with negative heart points". It's like what happens if you draw limbs on a Polandball, they lose their cuteness and go straight to "co do kurwa cholery?!".

Suggestion for the watering machine: have a dispenser drop out splash water bottles every so often--it would add movement and a bit of unpredictability to the base. Put a few hoppers around it pointing down and it'll look like the hoppers are sprinkling the crops

If I may, Pearl, I would recommend making the Fern and Lillypad Shop one large shop that is a forest (fern-selling section) encrusting a pond or on the edge of a river/swamp/mangrove delta (lilly-pad-selling section). That way, it'd be almost like you're growing them on-site.

Suggestion: How about removing the big propeller and adding a balloon instead? Keep the smaller ones for steering and then add the ballon to make it float. Feels kinda solarpunk and somehow calmer than propellers.

The new portal feels like it was pulled straight out of the build swap days; there is no rhyme or reason to it whatsoever and I love it

Armor stands, Pearl! They can add so much more detail to the robots, especially now that you can change sizes. Maybe iron ingots for propellers, or a few armor stands with blocks to make a small spout for water. You could even add small armor stands holding copper blocks as little rivets or screws on the robot.

Really loved the new additions to the base, it creates such a cozy vibe. Each part of the building is different, but it goes perfectly together. The machines bring life and sound, as Tango said, to a seemingly simple wheat farm.

I feel like now would be a good time to start one of those annoying chain letters via the mail to another hermit, where they must forward it to another hermit or else be 'cursed' within a certain time limit. Queue filling their base with armadillos name 'Scooter' if they fail to forward the letter. Whoever had the letter last gets to pick the 'curse' 'for the next victim of the chain letter. The chain only stops once all hermits have at some point had the letter and passed it on.
I think ren will be thankful for that
With the shopping district portal, you should just do what everyone is experimenting with now and that is colour gradients. Next time people complain just add a bunch of texture and shading to make it look 🌟beautiful🌟

Pearl is my favorite hermit. She's hilarious, adorable, and creative. Her editing style and her videos are like a storyline that's extremely entertaining and fun! Her building style is unique and... circle lol. Pearl's color pallet is as fancy as Bdub's. She is one of the more innovative hermits, coming up with brand new designs and ideas... so she's smart like Etho. And she seems to make the most out of every hermit interaction too so. Pearl is my favorite 😅

For your watering copter you could maybe throw in a cherry blossom thing so that the particles sprinkle down over the crops
A couple building ideas for the watering drones - where do they get the water from? Is there a water tank or lake where they refill? Do they have a place to rest during downtime?
I’d personally suggest adding a water tank that connects to the drones with a hose (at least the big drone), as water is really heavy.
It seems the drones have the primary benefit of precision and automation, so also what does the smaller one do vs the bigger one? Maybe it could detect soil hydration levels and make minute water drizzles to get the plants within the correct hydration range.
I really love the field and the scute farm, they make the area very beautiful!! Thank you so much for making all the videos you do, they really destress my days and make me very happy!

The shopping portal is turning in a circus fun house. Which could bee 🐝 a use for it later in the gaming district, maybe parkour race involving breeze balls and launchers.

I think what disturbs me most about the new portal build is the 8-legged bee. Those two extra legs are unnerving me. The idea of a flying, stinging spider! All that being said, it is the cutest little disturbing spidabee I ever did see!
I adore your armadillo farm! I was lazy and just put mine in with my sniffers. Now you have me thinking about other possibilities. The portal does, indeed, look hideous, and the bee is absolutely adorable. So glad to see Cub approves of these improvements.

For the water sprayer, maybe armor stand a blue choral upside down to show the spray coming out the bottom. I don't know if having a water source will help it stay alive or if it can even stay alive while on the armor stand though.

Blocks on armor stands are not actually placed so they don't update. Basically: a coral doesn't need water, it will survive

Under your drone, if you do one single stained glass pane, then go over and down, place another, go over and down, etc. You can add motion to your drone as it looks like it's dropping sprinkles of water. Or, if stained glass is too subtle, you can do candles instead for a similar effect.
Sorry to tell you, but I think the portal is still kinda cute -- especially the bee and the green guy! Can't wait to see their reactions!
ooh, add hidden dispensers that splash nausea potions at the Hermits so they get nauseous when near it to really sell the point with that portal.

Why do I want a pointed dripstone underneath the flying crop machine. The dripstone will drip onto the crops like it just watered them.

So... @ 6:10 when Tango makes the amazing propeller sound. Pearl It would be great to clip the noise but add a little reverb and tune the pitch just a smig higher. That would be such a great sound for the robots. lol
Also totally agree with Tango about the copper rods. With some glass work ie: like scar has on his power lines the robots would be that much better but just a suggestion thats totally not needed because they are beautiful as is too.
Time to ask Cub for a Dog Armor permit and make a bunch of different dyed armors. Wolfstreet would eat that up.

A potential addition to your solar drones. A couple of mini drones like you already made (with arms) collecting your copper grate coral "fruit" from a forested area and storing them on the back of a hover flatbed ute. Bonus points for different colour coral to indicate ripeness.
In terms of blades, can you extend the upper chains, then add a trap door, or horizontal hanging sign on the ends?
