Tropical Storyboard/Glitter Flow Tumbler Tutorial

- Today we are making a storyboard tumbler! Storyboard, Glitter Flow, Snow Globe…whatever you want to call them I Know You Got This! The most important part is letting the silicone cure so you have a strong barrier to keep that liquid in. Silicone needs air to dry which is why I keep the bottom cap off before I epoxy over it to make sure it gets that exposure it needs to harden properly. Whether you take what I show you and duplicate it as is, or let it inspire you to create something that is completely your own, I know you got this!
**For my friends in high humidity climates, such as myself, when I used my 2x Clear Spray for the final look I made the mistake of doing it first thing in the morning when the humidity didn't have time to dissipate causing my peekaboo to have a hazed look. While I don't mind it, kind of looks like frosted glass, if you want yours clear I suggest checking your humidity levels are below 65% (mine was at 82% 🤪) before spraying so that haze won't happen to you.

Mix your fine glitter into the glycerin/water mixture first then pour it into the storyboard tumbler. Thank you for posting this I needed a refresher!
Thank you so much for the tip! I will have to try that 🤗💖💖

Thank you, Minica 💖
Again, WOW 👌
Love it!!
Thank you!
I want to try one of the story boards but I have been so intimidated by them. You make it look so easy! Thank you!
I tried them a couple years ago and failed! I’ve had so many requests for a tutorial on them. So I tried them out again a couple months ago to make sure I knew what I was doing and they would last lol. I love making them now and can’t wait to make more tutorials with them. 💖
This is interesting!! I will have to try this!! This came out beautiful though!!
My first story board was a miserable failure!!! But after watching this I think I will try again because you did things a little different and that may solve my failings! Thanks, Sandy!
The first time I made them I failed too! It was only a couple months ago I started making them again. I’m obsessed now and can’t wait to make more tutorials using them 💖
Skills❤❤
And do not let acetone touch the acrylic! Lol. I love it, Sandy!!
Yes! Acetone and acrylic are no good together! I forgot to mention that. Thank you Emily 🤗💖
I tried one story board tumbler about two years ago and it was a total fail, but after watching this tutorial, I believe I will give it another try. I love the design of your cup so cute and summery.
Me too! I’ve had lots of requests for a tutorial but wanted to make sure they would last and I knew (somewhat lol) what I was doing, so I started a couple months ago trying them out again. I’m obsessed now! I’ll be doing more for sure. 💖💖
Love, love, love!
Thank you Jeanne 💖
Before you did the peekaboo, it looked great. Could've used it like that. But once you added it - WOW! What a beautiful tumbler! (As always.)
Thank you so much!
I have to tell you, I take are of my dad who is fighting stage 4 cancer, and he is as old and grumpy as they come (but i love him, he's my daddy). So, I was sitting in the living room watching this tutorial the other day and he sat down and watched with me, he said you are a true artist and he was really really impressed with this tumbler!
Thank you so much for sharing, Faith! Tell your father thank you so much, you made my day. 🥹I will be thinking of you and your family. 💖💖💖
Sandy. Did you hear my call? I want to do one of these and have it all taken apart and trying to figure out what to do. I tried to watch other tutorials but I said "I need Sandy to do a tutorial". And here it is. Thank you I can proceed with my storyboard now! 😘🥰
Glad to have helped 💖
Awesome!!
Thank you, Robin 🤗💖
I love it but I'm not brave enough to try it! Your talent is remarkable. Great work.
Thank you Kim! I understand lol. I felt the same way about them. 💖
Excellent!!
Thank you, Rosalinda 🤗💖
Do you not fill the hole on the bottom where the threads are?
@@hopeaudi171 I don’t. When I add the epoxy after I let the silicone cure I fill it with epoxy and haven’t had any issues. But I’ve seen others fill the hole. Either way you feel comfortable doing and prefer.
Ok PLEASSSSEEEEEE HELP! I DONT KNOW WHAT I AM DOING WRONG! I ABSOLUTELY ADORE YOU AND THIS TUMBLER!!! I purchased everything and went to work! I have tried now several times to get the seal right on the tumbler so it didn't leak!!! I got the same materials, the Dap silicone seal put it at the top and pushed it down as well as put it on the top of the cup! Put the cup back together for 8hours, opened the bottom to let it breathe! And let it sit over night. I have probably watched your video 20 times! Oh and it didn't leak when I did the leak test....but when I put the bottom back on it opened the flood gates! 💔👀😭
Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial. I was wondering when you use the 2x gloss spray. I see it in the video and it's listed as a supply and in the comments about it looking hazy with humidity, but I want to confirm when you use it. Is it after you peel the vinyl and before the epoxy? Thank you!!
Hi, this tutorial was great, I have made a new unsuccessfully. I don't work with Epoxy and would like to stay away. I use other brands for my tumbler seals. What do you suggest to use other than epoxy to seal the tumbler?
LOVE this cup!! What kind of glue is that you used for the blue glitter?
Ty! So many different ways of making these tumblers. Does it not go in the middle if you don’t seal all the middle where the threads are?
LOVE IT!! Will the paint/glitter get distorted or peel after being in liquid for a long period of time?
I really enjoyed watching you make this tumbler. Quick question, how do you fix your tumbler if when you seal it and you have a leak?
I know you sometimes have tumblers laying around.... Do you by chance have this one or one like this? I love it so much 💙 anything with monstera leaves and not hot pink lol but you probably don't take 1 cup orders anymore do you?
Hi Sandy... This is a beautiful cup. I"m at your website right now looking to place an order. This ?? is totally off glitter, but about the medicine cups you use. I see the Amazon link. Do these have the ridges on the inside of the cups? I HATE the ones that do. I feel like you can't get all the epoxy out of them. Thank you 🙂 I hope your weather and humidity cools down a bit... Up here in Seattle, we've had the coldest January - June in history - Spring was non-existant this year.
Haha before you said "kind of intimidating " I yelled out "How!?"
I'm new to your channel I really love the fact how you explain everything but I have a question where do buy your Tumblers from no one seems to want to share the information.
I buy most of my blanks from the stainless depot company 🤗
Do you spray paint the acrylic cover with the clear coat before you begin your last steps? I see it in the video, but no mention of it.
HELLO SANDY!!! Can you please tell me why I can't get the 30oz storyboard tumblers? I have looked everywhere and none has them
Do you not have to seal that hole on the bottom where the threads are? Someone said you don’t want the liquid in that hole to get in the wall of the cup?
Did u say u sanded the tumbler before painting
how does the epoxy not start peeling away under the liquid?
I did what you did and screwed the bottom on and my glitter stuck together and it leaked. Of course it's not sealed I'm just trying to move the glitter around. So I have 2 questions. How do I get the glitter to un-clump and how will I know if the bottom will still leak once sealed?
Thank you, Carrie
