Sometimes it’s easy to blame things outside of ourselves. And we definitely have a lot ways of numbing ourselves with the many drugs, activities, foods, etc so it’s easy to vilify the external and not the internal. Did you ever ask maybe why your confident husband turned to weed? Why did he feel the need to numb his pain? Did you ever notice he was in pain with that kind exterior you seem to want to impose on him? Was he actually confident or was he putting up a front for his loving wife because that’s what men have to do when we marry? What if that kind and confident man you married was never *just* kind or confident? Why is is so hard to accept the duality of the human condition? It’s never just about the substance but about why that patient feels the need to numb their pain. Where is the pain coming from. Cannabis use is just a symptom of something much bigger. If you really cared about your husband I would stop focusing on his cannabis use and focus more on where his pain is originating and the rest will take care of itself. Psychotherapy and couples counseling hopefully can help too. Wish you both well on your journey! 🙏🏼
its not the weed that brought it. why did he take it to begin with? there must have been something underlying, that he was deeply unhappy about in life. the weed was a bad attempt at self medicating for that issue, like it is with any other addiction.
@raze956 He started at 13. I'm sure there were many reasons. He is in his mid-50's now. I met him in our 40's. I have lived with him as a daily cannibas user and not. I prefer not.
