I have a 2015 Mustang GT and a ‘72 Gran Torino. From looking at old videos, the Mustang doesn’t stand a chance. Sure, they’re decently fast; but it isn’t going to outrun a purpose built drag car without a significant power adder (supercharger, turbo, or nitrous). The Torino hooks big time on bottom end and the Mustang just isn’t going to cut it. A CHAMPION driver will have the Mustang in the low 12s 1/4 mile (notice I said champion driver), but if I’m not mistaken the Torino is already in the 11s range.
I want it to be close .I think the cob webs might be enough to make it a closet match than you might think . John is a professional driver of a different sort . If he applies the attention to technique he uses in his day job make the Mustang sing should be easy . Have you ever backed tanker truck and trailer or doubles than you will know what I'm am talking about.

Why does John always wear a mask? Is it because his face is like the south bound end of a north bound mustang?
Kids...😑🙄
