Just started this audio book. Also if you like African inspired fantasy you have to check out “Children of Blood and Bone” and the second book in the series “Children of Virtue and Vengeance” just came out. I always say it’s Harry Potter meets Black Panther. You can also find a great interview with the author on Jimmy Fallon. It was one of his summer book club picks(for 2018, I think)

Just bought this book and the second one at Barnes and Noble. Wanted to check some reviews and your channel pops up and of-course I had to watch it. Great review as always. I’m trying to finish Kagan the Damned. For some reason I just can’t get into it. I might have to lower through it since I hate not finishing books. Have you heard of it? If yes did you like it?

I don't read enough fantasy to compare to anything else, it's just a great read.
Thanks for the kind words! I definitely think this book's appeal reaches far beyond the genre of fantasy. It's a story anyone can enjoy which is another reason it's so tremendous

I applaud the authors' creativity but the book is too violent for my taste. We meet several characters and before we reach the paragraph at the bottom of the page most of them are already dead.
He is definitely brutal
So 2 years later, do you still feel as hyped on this book as when you first read it? How does it compare to the other epic books you have read,since you said this series might be the new best series of the next decade, high praise my friend, was that recency biased, or still how you feel?!
I definitely feel this was due to me being newer to reading adult fantasy at this point. I still love the book, but I don't feel nearly as strong and now I know there's definitely some flaws. I still enjoy it a lot though and recommend it!
@@thefantasynuttwork awesome! Random question Would you say Sun Eater is one of your new all time fav on going series and is it in the same level as Stormlight Archive? Or is SA like just on another level then most modern fantasy? Also love and appreciate the responses, currently reading Golden Son…one it is SO GOOD:)
@@irishknight6893 I think sun eater can become one of my favs for sure, SA is great but I think currently for me it's just really great
