Mike, I have followed you since your FLW days, and I love that you share these tricks and techniques . I've been fishing for 60 years, and still learning about new baits and styles from YOU, I Like Ike 🎣🎣🎣
Mike I just went out on a terrible rainy day here in Northern Indiana with this exact rig, and caught 4 nice fish. The trailer hook is pure gold, without that, I wouldn't have caught any of the fish. I also have the Molix Lover spinnerbait and caught several fish on that earlier this season. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and skill! Tight lines. - Chris
You went off the rails with your fish philosophy of chase instinct. But...you did make me smile. I used to tip, ducking still do... but, I love to tip a rebel craw with an inch of nightcrawler because I think that bass sees a craw stealing a snack, and it makes him all antsy pantsy. Totally tracked, and agree on twist, drift influence of a bigger swivel. You’re fun, Ike. A bit hyperbolic, but you see it.
Great tips, Mike. All my life, I've fished TX clubs, 32 boats on big TX stained waters. Now, I've moved to Washington, fishing WA clubs, 32 boats on tiny, super clear, 1000 acre lakes. Aside from learning smallmouth, fishing heavily pressured fish is tough. I think this technique will work all year long here. Thanks. Best on Classic. Stick 'EM!
Your absolutely right about the barrel swivel looking like a tiny meal for baitfish. Ive had so many times on the water were a small bluegill or crappie comes up and smashes my swivel. Great tip Ike
Such good advice about adding the swivel. The food chain idea is the second time I’ve heard that. I’ve heard it about the drop shot on the pause also. The rigging of the Jerk bait for water column depth is awesome too as well as the treble hook mod. Thanks for all the (free) advice. Great video.
Mike Iaconelli Bass Fishing I will find out on Saturday and let you know. Army life gets in the way of fishing life. Thanks again for all the great tips!
Wow! Gr8t video ! I have been using Super Flukes all month here in Central Florida! Been Killing The Bass with them . But watching this video and seeing the notifications with The treble hook . Also will try swivel with braid .All I can say Is , The Bass are in trouble! ALL OF THEM ! This is a game changer in my eyes 👀! Thanks and God Bless
Love the video. Also, being new to fall fishing and different styles of bass fishing. I appreciate how you break down in detail how to rig the baits and fish them.
Mike Iaconelli Fishing went out and tried the recommendation this weekend. Didn’t catch anything. However, it was great to try a new approach. It was remarkable to see how the bait reacted in the water as well as trying different retrieving methods. Can’t wait to get out this week to try it again. It looked so great in the water. I just think I need to try a different time of the day. Thanks again.
Wouldn’t you want the bobber stop on the OTHER side of the treble so the eye of the treble doesn’t slide off the shank of the worm hook during the fight?
I LOVE.....your treble hook modification. Was just thinking the other day...why don't they sell soft plastic jerk baits with treble hooks? Thanks so much! I will try this out real soon.
This was very helpful. I've been seeing bass chase shad and blow up on top water where I fish and I haven't been able to catch any. I'm going to trying using the fluke. Thanks for the tips
Wow, best video I've seen on rigging-tips for fluke-style baits -- and I've watched several. I fished a Zoom Super-fluke for hours this morning and can attest to the fact that they really twist the line up so the swivel trick is something I'll try right away. Also, I just ordered some VMC Bobber Stops. Another video showed that bass tend to eat the fluke bait head first, so I'll have to see how much this helps.
Great video, fluke style baits are my go to spring and fall baits when bass go shallow but the treble hook modification is awesome, definitely gotta try it.
Wish I would have seen this tip before this weekend.... A lot of anglers could have used this rig on Table rock Lake and the 6th annual Toyota Owners Tournament.....
What knot are you using for your fluro to swivel? Been trying this technique and had the line break right below the know on the swivel side 3 separate occasions now, really trying not to burn the fluro either using the G-man knot and palomar. . Using seguar 12b fluro and 10b braided power pro. But i have proven these tips work great! caught several nice fish already with it. (p.s. the line snapped on casting one time as well, palomar may have been my own doing with kinking the line, the other time it just snapped on a hookset)
Great video Ike love fluke fishing been killing them on it in summer can’t wait to try in fall. I was curious what power/tip rod do you like for fluke fishing and is the reel a 3000 size?
I just rigged up my Abu Garcia spinning reel and Vengence rod with this set up. I had 15lb braid and 8lb flourocarbon. Think that is ok ? Cant wait to try it
@@mikeiaconellifishing Just one, the IKE Revo 4 reel has these snap in brakes that sometimes snap back into the (disengaged) mode all by themselves. It makes for a surprise birds nest every 15-16 casts. I own two of the IKE series Revo 4 reels, and they both do it... One more than the other. Don't get me wrong, the reel is beautiful, but the brakes are leaving me with a small amount of anxiety every few casts. I feel like I have to open the reel too often to make sure that all the brakes are engaged. I'd like to just be able to set the number of brakes engaged and forget about it. The rods, on the other hand, are just flawless for their price point. They perform just as advertised. Not only that, but they are the envy of my fishing buddies. I really love the IKE rods, I own three of them. 2 relay rods and one power rod.
Ike your one of the nicest down to earth people in the industry if you havent designed the shad minnow barrel swivel you should I believe you're right a 3 eye design 2 on the back exactly like the norman runner shad minnow hook up the swivel game Ike your one way cool guy God bless you
As always Bro...you are THE MAN !! But I have a question about this setup. Wouldnt you want to put a bobber stop before and AFTER the treble hook to prevent the treble hook from coming off?
3:06 you're going to think I'm nuts but I'm not come on Mike that's why we all watch you and love you can't stand Kevin Van Dam I am a michigander Mike Iaconelli and skeet Reese you are my favorite and skeet is my second favorite awesome love the barrel swivel with the fluke
Question about the treble hook--does it not need anything to keep it from coming off if the fish is just hooked by the treble? I've certainly lost trailer hooks off of spinnerbaits and buzzbaits before--any recommendations? Thanks for another great video!
Fluke chasing swivel because it looks like a smaller bait fish makes perfect sense, Not crazy at all. For saltwater fishing it works just the same as the fluke can look like a Sardine chasing a tiny pin head anchovy and Mr halibut wants the Sardine thinking the sardine has its focus on the tiny pin head anchovy vs it. Freshwater in the fall, the hatch has grown a bit so it makes sense to use a bigger swivel. My trick for both Salt and freshwater is to tie up 10 rigs and soak the fluke or jerk bait in some heavy scent for a full week. Old lunch meat plastic containers with plastic lids were made for this soaking process and keeping everything clean. Then Nuke the holes with scent bombs . Humans smelling a Steak on the BBQ getting the BBQ sauce and the works usually causes immediate hunger reflexes. Heavy thick Gel coating soaked in does this to fish as the steak analogy however many anglers kinda go cheap on the scent trying to make it last.
So about the barrel swivel, does it go through the guides well without destroying them? And I here from other people that more knots means a better chance for break offs, what knots would you recommend for tying your leader line to the barrel swivel? Great video, I learned a lot!
Mike, Great video. Any chance you could leave a link for the "bait stop"? I cannot find them anywhere and even looked on the VMC website. Could it be called something else? Thank you
Thats why he gets to fish for a living. Its in the details. Great job of getting his point across
Rarely will a pro fisherman like Mike share the in depth knowledge. Great stuff. Thanks a ton!
Your welcome Jan!
Great clips I've never seen it before I have to try this I think it would definitely help me and my fishery because I get short strikes all the time

That's what I love about Iaconelli, he can go in depth and really give you a good idea of what to do without it being boring
Thank you for the kind words!

NEVER GIVE UP!!! Just improvise and adapt. Great tips Mike.
Your absolutely right about the barrel swivel looking like a tiny meal for baitfish. Ive had so many times on the water were a small bluegill or crappie comes up and smashes my swivel. Great tip Ike
Hmmmm. The swivel is an interesting take. I love throwing the soft jerkbaits but never done it with a swivel. I'm gonna try it. Nice brotha.
Let me know what you think after you try it!
That's solid brah, I will give it a go as well. Never thought of it like that.
Thanks for the info 🇺🇸
Great video Mike, thanks. Cannot believe there are people who dislike this ...

Mike - Great advice and demonstration... Very clever with treble hook
Thanks man. This is one of my favorites for fall.
Love it when Ike gets that crazed look in his eye. Great video.
Thanks for wanting Neil!
That Ike Shark hat is off the hook!
Hey Mike some really cool tips! The swivel is especially interesting!
Ike for president 2020!
love the swivel and treble idea .trying this
Good luck!
Love your enthusiasm. You did such a nice job on this vid. I'm going to try it at Land between the Lakes tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving brother.
Wow so simple yet so genious thanks mike and thanks for BassUTv
Thanks Ike I can’t wait to use this idea on lake Norfolk! Keep the tips coming!
You got it Raul!

Mike Iaconelli...the best!!!
You're the best!
The treble hook idea is friggin awesome man!! Thanks for the tip.
No problem. Tight Lines!
Going to try this this fall is around the corner here your the man
I use the 1,2,3 pause method and hold on to the pole when you stop
So
Good
Wow
This was like a master class for me! I’m not very experienced with freshwater but everything you said made so much sense!
Glad it could help!
Nice! Food chain presentations are my favorite! Great video
Appreciate it!
Dr. Frankenelli says "Try the triple treble trailer trick, it's TERRIFIC!"
Great video Ike🎣 I learn something new on almost every one. Thanks
Thanks for watching Mike!
I love these how-to type videos Ike, keep em coming!
More to come!

Have you given the uni knot a try?
Mike Iaconelli Bass Fishing no I have not! Will definitely try this next time out. Thanks so much, YOU ROCK MAN!
Palomar If that's how you spell it always works for me
Great video Ike love fluke fishing been killing them on it in summer can’t wait to try in fall. I was curious what power/tip rod do you like for fluke fishing and is the reel a 3000 size?
Great tip mike thank you!! Been a fan from the beginning!!!
definitely one of my fav fall and south jersey lure! pickerel and bass friendly :)
Absolutely!
What a great idea that is freakin awesome! Best how to video I've seen in a long time.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video, very informative, clear explanations, great job. Gonna try the treble hook modification
Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Going to try treble! I gave up on flukes because of all the missed hook ups.
Thank you!
NEVER GIVE UP!
Stoked to try this one dude.
!
Good tips, Mike. Thanks!
Tight Lines!
Thanks for the tips Mike! You are the man!
One of my favorite lures, never tried it with a swivel and in fact got some line twist! I will give it a try next time ;)
Let me know how it goes!
Good advice with the swivel .
great tip on the treble
I use the swivel idea for muskie and pike by putting a small crankbait without hooks a foot or so infront of a larger lure
Great stuff Ike!! Learned a lot in this video thanks!
never thought about adding the trebble that's awesome trying this soon
Nice intel. I'll test out some of these techniques. I avoid treble hooks simply to prevent terrorizing the fish lips, but that's just me.
I just rigged up my Abu Garcia spinning reel and Vengence rod with this set up. I had 15lb braid and 8lb flourocarbon. Think that is ok ? Cant wait to try it
I think that'll be just fine!
I love your signature rods, I own two. Your Abu Garcia reel need some serious work!
What about the reels you think need improvement?
@@mikeiaconellifishing Just one, the IKE Revo 4 reel has these snap in brakes that sometimes snap back into the (disengaged) mode all by themselves. Great information Ike!
Good, creative tips man...definitely going to test the treble on the fluke.
Good luck Bryan!
Damn dude so much knowledge and info. Thanks for sharing bro.
Gonna try it. The fluke is my go gotta lure. Any where I go if I don't get a hit I pull out my go getter fluke and she gets them every time.
Ike your one of the nicest down to earth people in the industry if you havent designed the shad minnow barrel swivel you should I believe you're right a 3 eye design 2 on the back exactly like the norman runner shad minnow hook up the swivel game Ike your one way cool guy God bless you
That was some dang good advice. Thanks Ike. Keep up the Vids man.
You got it!
Great unique content. thanks for sharing
Learned a lot in this vid! Thanks so much I need to try these.
As always Bro...you are THE MAN !! But I have a question about this setup. Wouldnt you want to put a bobber stop before and AFTER the treble hook to prevent the treble hook from coming off?
Just saw this video and thank you for the tips!! Abu Garcia for life!! Love my Abu Garcia reels!!!
Thanks for the tips. I will try them soon.
Good luck Mark!
man, that's good stuff, especially for beginner like me , thanks.
Hope it helps ya out!

I noticed you didn't get a response from Mike cause he knows KVD is way better than he is you cannot beat experience bro
never give up
You got it! NEVER GIVE UP!
Mike Iaconelli Bass Fishing. your the best ever. you inspired me to fish better thank you brother
Question about the treble hook--does it not need anything to keep it from coming off if the fish is just hooked by the treble? I've certainly lost trailer hooks off of spinnerbaits and buzzbaits before--any recommendations? Thanks for another great video!
Thanks for the tips Ike👍
Great tips Ike.
Wow... This is great stuff!
Thanks Phillip!
Awsome vid Mike. There are too many ways to rig these baits.
Great tips Ike! 👍🏼👊🏼💯
Thanks Ray!
You don't say how much leader you use, but I'm guessing it's relatively short because that swivel won't cast through the tip-top, right?
In a similar application on another video he said 8 - 14 inches.
Thanks Mike! Very helpful tips!
You're welcome Bill!

No, a swivel like that will NOT pass through a tip-top. I guess Ike must keep the leader short; like under 5 feet. Still a pain to cast.
Thats damn nice rig!!!! Thanks!!!
Mike, Great video. Any chance you could leave a link for the "bait stop"? I cannot find them anywhere and even looked on the VMC website. Could it be called something else? Thank you
Great looking setup 👍
I like Mike
