just found this again after years.. i forgot i used to listen to it over and over when i was in middle school. god the husky vocals, the emotion, the way their voices compliment each other. so perfect. never delete this! your channel has brought me so much joy
I just bought the 7" single of Judith and this is on the b side. I love this but i can't listen to it on fantastic plastic til I get home from being offshore. I think I'll do a cover of this..
This was the first song I ever sang and played on guitar. I was 14 years old (in 2004), and from then until now I still don't know what the lyrics goes at the end of the song. I just can hear the final "Umbilical Residue" Can someone English speaker help me?
It's drop tuned open tuning guitar, it's dropped a half step on all the strings, then the thickest string is dropped a whole step, and then the two thinnest strings are matched to the two thickest strings, it won't sound like the video unless you tune to C# G# C# F# G# C#. so top three heavy strings played in a bar always, and that makes a power chord, it's all power chords. The verses are arranged like this: fretting. 9-12-5-7-9-14-5-2-10-9. The chorus is 9-7-5 repeated. Then play first verse again. Then play bridge which is slow and quiet it's 9-5-7-9-10 and repeat that twice. Then it's 9-7-9-5-7 repeated,. Then play the chorus part twice, or three times depending how much you want to sing. These are just the fret numbers, you need to figure out the tempo and how many times you need to hit the notes before the next number.
It's about maynard choosing to disconnect his mother from life support when she entered a coma after being crippled by a stroke for twenty something years. (the overwhelming hostility is his family who can blame him for making the decision)
@@acykablyatley no it’s not, she wasn’t in a coma for twenty years and this song came out years before her death. She was wheelchair bound due to paralysis, not in a coma. She attended Tool shows in the 90s.
Orestes was the son of Clytemnestra and Agamemnon. Clytemnestra and her lover killed his father after he returned from the Trojan war when Orestes was a young boy. Orestes was taken to Phanote by his nurse before the deed was done. He returned to his home country in his twenties to avenge his father's death by killing his mother and her lover.

Brutally beautiful
Give me one more medicated peaceful moment...
When they all sing the chorus at the end of this great unplugged version I get goosebumps ❤.
One of my absolute favorites! Thank you!
For a pretty intense duet sound, sing the song along with Billy, but in the album version's key.
I sing this along to the album version sometimes.
Been there, done that, felt amazing. Then I saw this comment and realised everybody thought the same way I did haha
@@akrivipavlidou1839 BAHAHAHA! I know right.
Still doing it!!

Is there a difference in that version of Judith?
Play in 1.25x
Acoustic version better than the original in my opinion
An Autumn For Crippled Children the stone and echo live version is the best

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
did billy howerdel write these songs? I know Maynard changed it slightly but this and 3 Libras are two of my all time favorites so I'm curious
Joseph Edwards yes.
thought Maynard wrote this song about his dying mother who was in a coma at the time? I mean lyrically anyways.
The two are apc
Maynard wrote the lyrics.
All the songs are composed by Billy on guitar, then he presents the songs to Maynard and Maynard writes the lyrics and the music for them.
Alessandra Lindemann One more medicated peaceful moment....
Billy sings.
Oh, my sweet Satan.
Alessandra Lindemann *Drools* Isn't it just?
Ash Demon Kinkaid it's absolutely gorgeous.
Alessandra Lindemann Yes -he- er,it,is.XD
Ash Demon Kinkaid I agree~

1.25x speed for Mer De Noms speed
Started really at bridgewater circle due to filthy Ættornies 11 oh really
How can people say Billy's singing is better than Maynard? On a song about
Maynard's mother... lol redickulous!!!!
Not about Maynard's mother. This was written years before she died.
It's a greek play. But maynard singing is way better.
i think their voices are made for each other, both very beautiful
It’s a song that depicts an ancient Greek play by Euripides that follows the events of Orestes after he had murdered his mother.
lol, its not a demo, it comes with the acoustic sessions
+Diego Olmedo It actually first appeared as a b-side.....
It is the demo of the song with the guitarist singing it, Billy howerdell
Is this song about abortion or something?
