The Elegance and Grace of both those dancers was very different from each other yet their Dance number together was and still is the best of all time. In my opinion. You could see the fluidity and ease of the Ballet Dancer well the Tap Dancer had a similar style but was a little more tense in his movements. both showed the strength and beauty of Dance together, which made it Breathtaking. It is sad that we have lost this type of beauty in today's Movies. All we can do is treasure these Classics and re-watch them as much as we want 😊.

I saw Gregory Hines at the Grand in Galveston. He already had lost a lot of weight due to cancer.( I realized that in retrospect.) I think that's why he took a break during his show after doing the stair routine. He asked all former and current hoofers to come up on stage. My husband and friends "encouraged" me to go (they pushed me!). I hadn't danced in a long time and he asked each of us to do a little tap dance. I think I was the last one. to go. He was my hero. I loved and missed tap dancing, having to work hard for a living. When he summoned me, I just hugged him. It took him off guard, and me too! All I could remember was an old standard Time Step dance. After I began, he stopped me, having recognized the dance, took my hand and danced it with me. I thought I was in heaven! He didn't dance with anyone else. It was a year later that he passed away. I wrote a letter to his father and received a reply from Negrita, his fiancé, in which she sent me the prayer card from his funeral. What a thrill.

And to those on here who have bashed David Pack...oh, please. His vocals can carry any song. This was the eighties, people, and the 80s had a certain sound, didn't they. I really like it. @@joecombs7468 We all know that Running Scared was a typical buddy cop movie, but it DID work, just as White Knights worked but Knights was on a more artistic and fusion level. Greg was a natural actor, but his first nod was his dancing, and as others have commented Mischa is his own masterpiece. I think people should realize genre and give movies like Running Scared and White Knight a break. They're not supposed to be hard core action adventure movies. They simply combine street with creativity, whether it be music, dance, or comedic timing, and let's face it, comedic timing is hard, for anyone who has ever tried it. And when you go back and see interviews by Billy, he absolutely adored Greg, they were great friends. Don't we all miss Gregory Hines, gone too soon.

@Elle Tuppen: I'm glad that you like the movie. Personally, while having two great actresses (Isabella Rossellini and Helen Mirren -- wow!) and two extraordinary dancers I don't believe I need to name, I didn't find the plot plausible.
However, those dance scenes which -- let's face it -- were the point and the reason for this movie, make up for everything. And, as Pamela Jordan pointed out, "Prove Me Wrong" does "prove" that sometimes perfection can exist in this world.

If you have the DVD, the directors commentary is really good.
At one point he described how easy it is to work with dancers, because, unlike normal actors who get restless after multiple takes to get everything perfect... dancers are content to do it again and again and again to get it perfect.
He described choreographers as sadists, and dancers as masochists!!

My seat was RIGHT next to the stage; I literally could rest my elbows on it & Hines was within about 3 feet. He was utterly mesmerizing; I knew from seeing him on film that he was an incredible dancer & actor & babe, but in person....holy moly! The electricity & charisma poured off him in near-visible waves, and the way he moved was almost superhuman. We're both lucky he didn't end up slipping in the big puddle of my drool. OTOH, I coulda leaped up onto the stage, saved & comforted him, & had his everlasting gratitude. Ah, dreams.

I'm still a huge David Pack fan today. He has amazing vocal range always did, but he's a heckuva great song writer as well. Try a song called Deliver Me by David. Just a really great song, and another great one is Natalie, his tribute to the late Natalie Wood. Listen for the part where it says "Why are you lying there so silently alone, I don't know"...it will literally break your heart. On this song, "Prove Me Wrong" I think David should have just just delivered the song into the microphone or in cameo sans the guitar, it would have worked better in his vid, but the song definitely does work in White Knights.

Two amazing dancers and an amazing routine. And underrated too unfortunately

Although they are both incredible, I don’t think Hines could do what Barry does. So much more intense training. But it was a pleasure to see these two icons together!

First of all. I LOVE this dance sequence. I keep coming back to view it😎 However, you see a HUGE difference between 1:36-1:42. Mikhail is smooth and balanced. Hines is off balance and loses his footing before going into the next sequence. Mikhail is a far superior dancer to most dancers...even if he's doing tap😉 He is SO smooth!
