If you mean what we want from anime movies I would recommend "A Silent Voice" and "I wanna eat your pancreas" (weird name I know). It would be cool to see your reactions in some anime series as well but there are so many that I want to recommend so...

i think, from same director/writer than Your name: "Wheathering with you", "The Place Promised in Our Early Days" and "The garden of words" are great anime movies..
But, before you should go for this other two gems: "A silent voice" - you will cry more than in this.. and laugh.. and get angry.. all at same time in some scenes -
and too, "I wanna eat your pancreas" - A weird title, but a beautiful movie-

So there's a manga that was written to supplement this movie and the main story.
38:50 The real reason that Mitsuha's father finally agreed to evacuate the town was because of one reason, he saw his late wife Futaba in his own daughter.
The manga of Your Name: Another Tale Earthbound, shares the backstory of when he first met and married Mitsuha's mother. He originally came to Itomori to study the town's history and culture. And he gave up everything from his life to stay in Itomori, marry Futaba and become part of the town as a shrine priest as the movie states. Futaba performed the same dance that we see Mitsuha and Yotsuha perform in the beginning of this movie. And at this point, after he spent enough time with her, Futaba confessed that for mysterious reasons, she knew that when she first laid eyes on him, something was telling her that she would marry him, no question about it. After they were married and they started their family, Futaba actually described the story about how the lake was formed and that a long time ago, a fragment of the comet caused the crater to form and then the lake was filled in over the years. She actually saw, in her dreams, that the comet was going to strike again and that all the women in her family line had witnessed this particular dream but had no idea of the impending doom.
So, when Mitsuha finally returned and tried to ask one last time to evacuate the town, her father saw the spitting image of Futaba, his late wife. Ultimately, all the memories of why he stayed in Itomori came flooding back in that moment. It was because of his family that he tried to work so hard. As fate would have it, he was the head of the town and able to get everyone to evacuate. Not only did Mitsuha help save the citizens of Itomori with Taki's help, but this implies that Futaba also could rest easy as her role as one of the shrine maidens of her family was fulfilled as well.

Fun fact: Most of the places in Tokyo shown in the movie exists in real life. Even the final scene of the staircase is real. I managed to cover almost all of the places in about a day when I went to Tokyo before the pandemic blew up. There's plenty of guides online on where the locations are. If you have a chance to visit Tokyo, you should set aside a day to do the Your Name tour on your own.
Even Makoto Shinkai's other work, Weathering With You has plenty of real life world locations. Kimi No Nawa is definitely one of the best movies Makoto Shinkai has ever done.

Fun fact: if you go back to the start and pay attention to the time when they showed the dates in calendar while they were switching bodies, you will notice that the dates are the same but days are different since they both were from different timeline.
Also the reason why Taki didn't write his name on her hand was because as you remember the memo's they wrote disappeared so he was afraid that his name from her hand will also disappear when she goes back to her time. It is said in Japanese forklore that the Moon god protects all the words of love hence to motivate Mitsuha if she forgets him, he wrote 'I Love you' to remind her that there is someone for her and she needs to keep on fighting for him..

I would actually say this is the best movie I've seen in about 20 years. The emotional impact it had on me was stronger than any live action movie I've seen in decades (how did they do that?). The moment you realise what happed to the Mitsuha and her village was jaw dropping and the whole last part of the movie destroyed me! For the record I watched the English dubbed version which I recommend for those that aren't anime purists and want to enjoy the movie without having to read subtitles.

For me, what set this movie well above others was the details given to the small moments. This felt like real world people actually lived in. Some scenes linger without a specific reason, just because they can. Hollywood has lost this aspect of movies, everything is so quick, with quick cuts, everythings got to be snappy otherwise the audience gets bored and starts looking at their phones, waiting for the next explosion or action scene. In Japanese movies, I think they still care about cinematography and atmosphere within movies, and I really like that. I love this movie, but I cannot watch it often. It hurts my heart to feel both sadness and elation at the same time.

Tasokare, also called Kawatare, (twilight or magic hour), and Musubi (union), are two of the most profound motifs throughout this anime film.
at 4:38, I wish you had included a scene of a female teacher explaining to students what "Kawatare-doki" is. Then I realized you were probably watching "Your name." for the first time while recording your reactions - you wouldn't have known it would help you, and the viewers, understand what is happening when Taki and Mitsuha finally meet in person on the ridge of the crater overlooking the secret site of Miyamizu shrine's god.
Sensing each other's presence, they call their names. They can hear their voices but are unable to see each other. Taki and Mitsuha extend their arms toward each other only to cut through the air. A moment later, the magic hour (kawatare-doki) begins, and Taki and Mitsuha are united (musubi) in the same space-time continuum for a brief moment.

But in the end what hit us the most is,
the feeling of longing for someone we wanted and dream of for our entire life, is finally happening.
    That's why we cried.

The director, Makoto Shinkai, use to insert some character of his previous movie in his films. That teacher who teachs about the kataware-dokki is the same character of the movie Kotonoha no ni wa (The garden of the words). So, in his last movie, Tenki no Ko (Weathering with you), you can see Taki and Mitsuha. I have not watched that movie yet. You could make a video reaction about that.

The Japanese language is very complex, and "すきだ" can be translated in many different ways. In this movie, it is translated as I love you, but there is a hidden nuance here that is conveyed only in Japanese. By writing "すきだ" in hiragana instead of kanji, the author expresses a special feeling that goes beyond a mere romantic relationship or lover's relationship in a slightly shy way. This is where Taki-ness is well expressed. However, this feeling is quite difficult to verbalize. If anyone is studying Japanese, I would like you to take another look at it after you have learned it. You may notice new goodness.

I mean, translators have always had their job cut out for them.
If I wanted to express the shyness of that written line in English, for the sake of the intellectual property's tone, I would probably write "I like you..." with an ellipsis at the end or something. It may not be 100% accurate, but it adds something.
Often, translators may also need to do the things that others don't want them to do, but that probably improve the I.P. in terms of tone and feeling. Depending on the amount of artistic license that one takes, the same line could be written as "I think I like you..."
Basically, translators need to learn to interpret and not just translate. Although I agree that Asian languages and Japanese in particular are advanced in how indirect or direct the speaker's tone can be. English mainly relies on vocal emphasis *or sometimes bold and italic fonts in written works).

Nice to meet you! I'm Japanese. Let me tell you a little about my past.
When I first saw this movie in the theater, I couldn't remember the heroine's name (Mitsuha) as well as he did in the scene where the hero (Taki) forgot her name. It's kind of a coincidence, but luckily I was able to relate more to him and immerse myself in the story.
And this work touched my heart.
Then I went to the theater many times to watch this movie. I wanted to understand the film better, to enjoy the beauty of the images more, and to listen to the music.
I've always been a fan of director Makoto Shinkai, so I'm happy that this film has captured the hearts of so many international fans.

I know all those feelings! This movie breaks my barrier to anime world. (I was just like a normal guy loving anime as a boy and then like grew out of it as grownups) I went to see this movie just because my crush recommended. From the trailer I thought it would be just a rom-com movie in switching body theme (quite cliché in Thailand), but just 1/4 of it then changed to another genre which surprised me a lot. It became mysterious, sci-fi and end with romantic drama. Still no.1 film in my heart so far. (Sometimes expect nothing makes the movie best out of its potential)

Still watching your video but wanted to drop a recommendation before the comments are flooded. 5 Centimeters per Second (2007) is another beautifully set anime with an emotional theme song.
A live action movie that feels like an anime love story is Midnight Sun (2006) also with a heartfelt soundtrack (the original Japanese not the Hollywood remake). The lead actress there is a singer and the movie coincided with her rise to fame. Not necessarily for reaction videos... just thought you'd like these movies because you're such a hopeless romantic.
