Love how you can really hear Richard pounding those keys frenetically starting at 0:59. The Moog bassline was fantastic here. Man, I miss the Jeff Lynne “wall of sound”.
The city streets are empty now (The lights don't shine no more) And so the songs are way down low A sound that flows into my mind (The echoes of the daylight) Of everything that is alive (In my blue world) I turn to stone when you are gone I turn to stone I turn to stone, when you comin' home I can't go on The dying embers of a night (A fire that slowly fades 'till dawn) Still glow upon the wall so bright (turning, turning) The tired streets that hide away (From here to everywhere they go) Roll past my door into the day In my blue world I turn to stone when you are gone I turn to stone I turn to stone, when you comin' home I can't go on Turn to stone when you are gone I turn to stone Yes, I'm turnin' to stone 'Cause you ain't coming home Why ain't you comin' home If I'm turnin' to stone You've been gone for so long And I can't carry on Yes, I'm turnin', I'm turnin' I'm turnin' to stone The dancing shadows on the wall (The two-step in the hall) Are all I see since you've been gone (turning, turning) Through all I sit here and I wait (I turn to stone, I turn to stone) You will return again some day To my blue world I turn to stone when you are gone I turn to stone I turn to stone, when you comin' home I can't go on I turn to stone when you are gone I turn to stone I turn to stone when you are gone I turn to stone Turn to stone, when you comin' home I can't go on I turn to stone when you are gone I turn to stone
Can anyone afford the prices to see the on-stage mish-mash that Lynne has created the last ten years or so, not even the great Richard Tandy to perform his magic. I've seen the "ELO Experience" at Chesterfield twice now, and they're miles better than the current offering. I'm one of JL's biggest fans but the present stage act is verging on the poor side.imho.
...ouch I saw ELO - Time Tour in 1981 - incredible fast forward to 2018 and 2019 I saw Jeff Lynne's ELO in Toronto and I have to say it was certainly a blast. Interesting thing is that if the 2018 show was a 10 out of 10 the 2019 was a 12 out of 10 - amazing and fun to witness

Another fantastic offering Ash! I miss Jeff Lynne doing his hurried "eight line monologue"on this. wonder if JL regrets putting that bit in ever?
what a pity these instrumentals weren't available on the original CD's !!!
Wow slucham i słucham ❤❤❤❤❤
I wish that DJDiscoCat would get his hands on this song and make it larger than life.👌
He does some good remixes 👍
The city streets are empty now
(The lights don't shine no more)
And so the songs are way down low
A sound that flows into my mind
(The echoes of the daylight)
Of everything that is alive
(In my blue world)
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
I turn to stone, when you comin' home
I can't go on
The dying embers of a night
(A fire that slowly fades 'till dawn)
Still glow upon the wall so bright (turning, turning)
The tired streets that hide away
(From here to everywhere they go)
Roll past my door into the day
In my blue world
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
I turn to stone, when you comin' home
I can't go on
Turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
Yes, I'm turnin' to stone
'Cause you ain't coming home
Why ain't you comin' home
If I'm turnin' to stone
You've been gone for so long
And I can't carry on
Yes, I'm turnin', I'm turnin'
I'm turnin' to stone
The dancing shadows on the wall
(The two-step in the hall)
Are all I see since you've been gone (turning, turning)
Through all I sit here and I wait
(I turn to stone, I turn to stone)
You will return again some day
To my blue world
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
I turn to stone, when you comin' home
I can't go on
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
Turn to stone, when you comin' home
I can't go on
I turn to stone when you are gone
I turn to stone
