Just did this in Necropolis league. Ended up alt spamming for +1 all because Shuddering fossils are rare and expensive right now. I was able to get it in 1 divines worth of alts. My prefix slam was awful, But ended with +1/+1, Unveiled crit multi near rares/uniques and bench crafted crit spell chance for now. Started the craft with 10 divines, finished with 36c. So video was bang on exactly with the cost. Though I did spend 3 divines on the base, bought a split beast and sold the 2nd copy once I was done alt spamming for 2 divines. So that actually made the cost more like 9 divines after cost of everything. So anyone wondering if this is still valid for 3.24, it's almost exactly the same cost.
Just crafted this the deterministic way on a fractured t2 spell damage abyssal sceptre because had a lot of currency to spend and hit T1 global crit multi with the veiled chaos then unveiled the trigger mod gg. Thanks for the guide.
For anyone wondering, as far as I'm aware annul orbs respect the metamods "cannot roll caster modifiers" and "Cannot roll attack modifiers". So if you split your 6 mod base with a beast and have socketed melee gems and +1 all gems on the same base as long as you have an empty suffix you can craft "cannot roll caster modifiers" and safely annul off the melee gems mod. I know for a fact it used to work like this, it currently works like this in the craft of exile emulator, but I haven't tested it myself in game. Yet. Going to do this craft in the next few days.
It does work in game, I use it all the time. I will say that depending on your cost of crafting it can be cheaper to just reroll +1 all gems and split again. You can easily lose the gamble and annul the metamod which requires re-benching it. I've done many crafts that cost me 4 or more divines in this exact metamod where I was trying to annul a non-tagged mod and gotten unlucky, though usually I'm doing it with more expensive prefixes than +1 all.
Crafted a +2 with this thank you. My first try I hit the 20% fail on the harvest augment(spent like 8 div for the augment 1.5div on fossils 3 div on base sceptre), second try did multi mod/prefixes cant be changed/cannot roll attack mods, and ended up with a decent +2 trigger with a meh redeemer slam. Would recommend just doing the multi mod/prefixes cant be changed/cannot roll attack mods and augmenting. Cost for a basic +2 was about 15 div with 8div on adding phys, 5 div on the multi, 2 div on fossils getting +1 all and splitting. then 1 div(more if unlucky on unveil, it took me 3 tries) prefixes cant be changed, veiled chaos orb. 90c redeemer slam,(hit dead mod) and craft trap throwing speed. Cost me about 19-20 div for my trigger +2 which is a lot cheaper than buying one on trade still. Also the i73-82 sceptre bases are pretty expensive, for my second try i bought an i84 one for 20c and uses the 4 fossils to craft it, which was cheaper than buying a i73-82 one and crafting on that.
Nice! Yea, another thing this league since materials are wildly expensive is just alt-ing for +1 since they're dirt cheap. This league has been crazy, glad you got your trigger sceptre.
I'm convinced the unveil trigger weight on craftofexile is just wrong. Crafted 4 scepters trying to hit trigger unveil, probably 15+ total unveil attempts (30+ div) and didn't see it a single time. Meanwhile hit crit multi w/ unique over and over and over again... Had to sell the good rolls for a profit just to stay even.
I feel you. I can't vouch for it outside of what's in poedb (which I trust more). I can say that I've crafted between 8-10 trigger sceptres this league at various points and it's felt roughly in line with the ~30% unveil rate if you are able to block one of the charge mods. I think I unveiled it on the first go on three separate occasions. That doesn't make the long dry streaks feel any better though -- those feel like they happen more than they should but maybe I'm just human and am reading too much into probabilities and expected outcomes.
Came here in 3.23, build is dope so far ! Been trying to craft this, didn't get the trigger mod so far. This could use an update considering veiled chaos is no longer available as well as a gravecraft version for 3.24. And the PoB has a +1 gem craft that doesn't exist any longer.
Hey! I have an Alternating sceptre with +1all and +1 phys and 1 open suffix. Got any suggestions of what to to with this? Been considering crafting prefix cannot be changed an then scour, but not really sure what to do then. Got any recommendations?
The bases are still very expensive, so i had to buy a split base and alt spam it to isolate +1 all spells. Other than that worked great, but unfortunately I only have 1 free suffix so i can't do redeemer influence

Is this an item I can buy, or do I need to run beastiary for a bit to save up some of those monsters? I just tried this technique with annuls, First one got the melee off, but second annul took off the +1 all, so tempted to try the best way, but can't really find anything online about how to buy one. You will need 3 rare beasts (yellow bests of doing einhar missions) to complete the recipe as well. Would recommend just running a mission. Would not recommend trying to farm the split beast its pretty rare

So ive got the the +2 but because of the cost veiled orbs, i decided to go , prefix cannot be changed>scour>multimod>crti chance for spell + global crit mulit. do you think those are good choices? should i go 4-5% chance for double damage instead?
If you have a base with a fractured prefix how do you split it ? Is it a case of hitting it with annuls and hoping that's what I been doing so far and only once I got all the way to harvest craft and it bricked but usually socketed melee gems never comes off
You cannot split a fractured base. For that case you’ll have to yolo annul off melee gems, OR bench Cannot Roll Caster and annul which will safely protect your +1 all gems when annulling. The metamod isn’t protected though so it’s a gamble you might have to re-bench it

Interesting to know about more expensive version: - I assume that is spamming fossils until you get decent spell damage tier and + all gems - And at the later stage try to hit a proper suffix with redeemer orb. Is miss a failure or can we lock prefixes again and recraft suffixes after that? I am not sure if redeemer orb can be applied to already influenced scepeter. Also there is a beast craft to applied an affix to a influenced item, though it seems it can apply any affix not only infuenced one, and miss cost 2d in that case.
The higher budget versions of the sceptre are crafted a bit differently and don't require fossils. It's more cost effective to use Shrieking Essence of Woe (the T2 one) to land a high tier of Spell Damage without having it fractured. Right now on trade you can buy enough to hit it with 13 divines, roughly 1250. You'd also finish the craft a bit differently since you don't want to risk the split beast losing your Spell Damage. You can either a) get lucky and have an open prefix when you hit +1 all, b) land a non-Caster tagged 3rd prefix (~75% odds of non-Caster tag) and targeted annul using Cannot Roll Caster + Orb of Annulment, or c) get super unlucky and fill prefixes AND also hit a 3rd spell and have to yolo annul off the prefix. For this version of the craft I would use the 100% deterministic method to Add/Rem phys for +1 phys gems and also land an unveiled suffix you want because the cost to re-roll is considerably higher. The volume of Shrieking Essence of Woe on trade is very low 2+ months into league, too, so there is an opportunity cost that makes re-rolling difficult. When I rolled both of my sceptres this way it was around 11 divines expected cost in essences.
You also cannot re-apply an influenced orb to an already influenced sceptre. You only get one shot at that. I'd strongly consider blocking the caster Redeemer mods with Cannot Roll Caster before you slam the higher budget sceptre to improve your odds of hitting some tier of Hatred effect and Cold Exposure to above 50%
At the 7:00 minute mark where you mention we want to 'block' the power charge mods. How do I actually block them? I don't see you doing any blocking on your craft example. Thanks!

Hope this isn't the wrong place for this. I've hit up TFT crafting help but man, I feel like I'm losing my mind here. I have seen every veiled suffix show up on this Alternating Sceptre except for Trigger Socketed skill. I'm not approaching this incorrectly, am I? I wonder if this is just a strong statistical anomaly that I'm running up against here. When I set up the same item on craftofexile, I get the Trigger Socketed skill to show up about 1/3 or 1/4 times. In game, I'm at my ~35th round of prefix cannot be changed > veiled chaos orb > block dot multi > unveil something that's not Trigger Socketed skill > repeat.
Holy shit man, that's terrible. I think you are doing the right thing, it's the best method I'm aware of. CoE reports its about 1/3-1/4 BUT I've also felt like it takes more to hit. I made two trigger sceptres this league and it was 10x and 13x to unveil it. I wonder if the weightings are correct, but I don't have any way to know more than the poedb people.@@cyborg346

What would you do if before the veiled chaos you got a free preffix? Just exalt away and then pref cannot change + veiled chaos? I understand I could clean suffix and then multimod + crafted preffix + pref cannot change and veiled chaos, but that'd be minimum 4div per try...
7 tries for the unveil Trigger, but it still looks worth it. making your own shit is rewarding, and I rather do this than selling redoing the sceptre from scratch xD Thanks for the guide!

Correct once it has been split it cannot be split again. I just figured out how to farm these easily though, I made a video. You can get as many as you need for not that much effort.
i was already struggling to get enough divs to try this in this leauge. FInally got to Add/Rem phys and it wiped my +1 spells. Feels bad man. Also probably goes without saying, Veiling atm is terrible. Wait until they've fixed the drop rate on them.
so in 10 resonators, i landed 2 prefix, 2 suffix with 1 prefix being of all spell skils. what would you do in this rare situation it didnt fill completely?
There are a few methods for that, but none of them cheap on an Alternating sceptre. You’ll want to either fracture it on an ilvl 73-82 Alternating Sceptre or Essence of Woe (T2, Shrieking) for it then go from there. Be aware that it will take around 1200 essences to hit +1 all gems, and you aren’t guaranteed to have an open prefix/suffix which you’ll need to finish the craft. It’s considerably more expensive to do.
Metacrafting is so "relatively" cheap this league I'd strongly consider cleaning Suffixes entirely (Prefix Cannot Change + Scour), then Multimod + Prefix Cannot Change + Cannot Roll Attack at a total cost of 7 divines for a guaranteed +1 phys. This way you don't risk the +1 all. As a side benefit, you can multimod to finish if you have an open prefix for a very, very strong sceptre. +1 all spell skills +1 all physical spell skills Spell Dmg / Non-Chaos as Extra Chaos Multimod Crit Multi (or Trap Throwing Speed) Redeemer slammed mod

But you already have the prefixes cannot be changed when you veil. I'm talking about the moment you apply the veiled chaos. For me it added a veiled mod + 2 other random suffixes.
what if it took me like 5 divines+ to roll that +1 skill gem, isnt it worth it with my luck to go the 100% deterministic way? XD Edit: i was unlucky and rolled my +1 in the add remove... second edit: is there a way to get that +1 all spell skill gems without fossils/annuls, im on my eigth time i annul off my +1 and its getting too costly
The other options are alt spam or essence spam, neither of which is very fun. IIRC it’s like 1200 essences to hit it (check craftofexile for exact number)
I have a level 77 staff and for 8 divines I still couldn't catch +1 all spell skill gem for the "cheapest" crafting option, so fuck this crafting and this game
Because it’s awful to do and often costs more than this method, depending on the price of alts. Particularly early in league. You also are likely to hit good bonus mods like Spell Dmg / flat ele spell dmg / crit multi

I did not wipe suffix and redeemer slam however, that would have made the cost a few more divines obviously.

Look for a Fenumal Plagued Arachnid on trade. They were 50c this morning when I recorded the video.

Depends a lot on your build setup. I use it to cast Forbidden Rite only once I went to an elemental weakness + Balance of Terror setup.

Yes, exactly. Bench a suffix to keep it blocked and exalt is the most economical way about it.
7 tries for the unveil Trigger, but it still looks worth it. making your own shit is rewarding, and I rather do this than selling redoing the sceptre from scratch xD

Correct once it has been split it cannot be split again. I just figured out how to farm these easily though, I made a video. You can get as many as you need for not that much effort.
i was already struggling to get enough divs to try this in this leauge. FInally got to Add/Rem phys and it wiped my +1 spells. Feels bad man.
Also probably goes without saying, Veiling atm is terrible. Wait until they've fixed the drop rate on them.

Ilvl 82 is important for fossiling. If you don’t plan on fossiling then any ilvl above 73 (where T1 crit multi happens) is good

so in 10 resonators, i landed 2 prefix, 2 suffix with 1 prefix being of all spell skils. what would you do in this rare situation it didnt fill completely?
Craft Cannot Roll Attack and Rem/Add Phys. You get to skip the massaging necessary to get to 2 prefixes and 2 suffixes + one benched.

There are a few methods for that, but none of them cheap on an Alternating sceptre. You’ll want to either fracture it on an ilvl 73-82 Alternating Sceptre or Essence of Woe (T2, Shrieking) for it then go from there. Be aware that it will take around 1200 essences to hit +1 all gems, and you aren’t guaranteed to have an open prefix/suffix which you’ll need to finish the craft. It’s considerably more expensive to do.
So the aug phys is about 8div this league, is that still the best way to go in your opinion?
Metacrafting is so "relatively" cheap this league I'd strongly consider cleaning Suffixes entirely (Prefix Cannot Change + Scour), then Multimod + Prefix Cannot Change + Cannot Roll Attack at a total cost of 7 divines for a guaranteed +1 phys. This way you don't risk the +1 all. As a side benefit, you can multimod to finish if you have an open prefix for a very, very strong sceptre.

Yea you still need add/rem phys, but no risk of bricking it and having to pay more than once.
How do you avoid the veiled chaos suffixes ? I did all good until I veiled and it added the veiled and 2 shit suffixes :(
you gotta benchcraft something to block the suffix you don't want. In this way you will have at least 1 suffix to benchcraft.
But you already have the prefixes cannot be changed when you veil. I'm talking about the moment you apply the veiled chaos. For me it added a veiled mod + 2 other random suffixes.

second edit: is there a way to get that +1 all spell skill gems without fossils/annuls, im on my eigth time i annul off my +1 and its getting too costly
The other options are alt spam or essence spam, neither of which is very fun. IIRC it’s like 1200 essences to hit it (check craftofexile for exact number)

I have a level 77 staff and for 8 divines I still couldn't catch +1 all spell skill gem for the "cheapest" crafting option, so fuck this crafting and this game

Cheapest this league is just alt spam, but it’s painful on the wrist. Alts are something like 2800:1 right now.
Why not just alt until you hit +1 all?
Because it’s awful to do and often costs more than this method, depending on the price of alts. Particularly early in league.
You also are likely to hit good bonus mods like Spell Dmg / flat ele spell dmg / crit multi

yeah no, don't do this in Crucible. Split beast are 1.5 divine right now, you will just go bankrupt trying it.
Split beasts are only 80c, and I would still recommend doing it this way. It's much cheaper to do that than annul / miss and re-fossil.

I ended up doing it this way and got it first try, the only thing I f*cked up is the reedemer exalt, I forgot about it and simply exalt slam for a bad suffix. But I still can redo the suffix part, ultimately I should as I still didnt hit trigger spell on botch scepter
