This is a true beast. I work for an organization that procured these from Gibraltar stockholdings(that's the name of the co.) This is the only car that has survived horrible terrains of South Sudan,DRC, Darfur etc places that I have been in these cars. I have never met a mech who has overhauled this engine especially in South Sudan where we crossed laggas( temporary rivers) . We had an LC which had clocked over 700k km with no issues at all.Max Respect to this car!!. The most crazy trips I did on this car was in S.Sudan from Yei to Yambio where only the MAN 8X8 trucks and this LC could easily conquer!
Wow
Any chance for an individual to buy this car through Toyota Gibraltar?
what are pros and cons of 1VD twin turbo
Have driven the hardtop for an NGO for 4years now, the most reliable and practical of all, there is nowhere this landcruicer won't go🔥💯
Mr Jotham can we link up if possible
I have a few queries
This is also my retirement vehicle if possible by 45, I used one to carry materials back in 2017 this is a beast if not puppy to tanks.
Once, I broke the rear differential and I had to put it into 4wd and since the rear wheels were not pushing it, it actually became a front wheel drive and I drove through the bush road for about 600+km until I reached the nearest authorized service center.
You guys have done me justice, I put a comment on your live session on Monday and it seems you value our requests much. God bless you.
My daily vehicle in Mara. People asking about consumption, it's 6-7km/litre. Another thing when servicing, make sure the mech gives it 11 litres of engine oil. Some mechs don't get to 11
twin turbo?
6-7km/liter = 1.6L/100km
Best engine I use it for tour @munorus adventures limited
Double cab 79 is my dream car…Australians really know how to customize them for Overlanding…
The patriots camperts
@@A.kanielmaestro. Ronny Dhal, 4xoverland
My dream car too....one day i'll own it
I've always loved this one,the sound of the engine is just a sound to the ears, leta Hilux sasa👍👍
I have ridden the land cruiser pickup afew times. It was not comfortable at all. Seated in the back with tens of others on the way to the nearest police station
You forgot to mention that even in all wars, you will always find the Landcruiser 79 Series.
Mojahiddins with their badass machineguns on top.
@@kelvingitundu6727😹😅
This is quite a satisfying video. I read in a review site that the 79 is built to last for 25 years without replacing any major part as long as it is well maintained.
Wokabi has never been this excited 🤣
Nice review Mr. Wokabi. Just to add on that, this beast chews the rough corrugation roads like biscuits hitting 100+km/h comfortably especially when loaded. The ones that transport khat to North Eastern region of Kenya, their pilots can attest to it. Point to note! Be very cautious going downhill when loaded, the brakes tend to fail when doing hard braking. As a newbie, I almost overturned one on those Meru slopes, I was saved by downshifting to second and then first gear after hitting a bump and being airborne for a second maahn! Anyway, it's a beast I'd drive any day anywhere forever.
😅😅
Driven 1 HZ J 79 for the past 8 years, current millage 520000 km
@@keitrodger3094did you use it as a daily?
Recent update, Toyota Kenya is now selling V8 single turbo in this vehicles. Bhogals Nakuru have been advertising since late last year, am pretty sure it's being sold country wide.
Have driven a 79model ambulance, took it at 1k km to 69k km, left it still new. With proper servicing this truck can serve generations
I agree its the only 4x4 most reliable and love. The feeling of driving this powerful vehicle gives u the control of the any road any time. The sound of the engine and shifting of the gears is more of a lorry to manual enthusiasts out there 👍💖
Just have front and rear difflocks on this beast. You can go anywhere whenever you want. In my bucket list of cars to own
Hamna huruma 😅 mnataka roho ya mzee hapo nyuma isimame mkifanya hiyo 0 -100. Na mliskip kufit Mbuguas kwa trunk. It can fit 30 mbuguas vile huwa inafanya kwa msako. Kībogo. Nice one canversations team 👊🏿
Good work with the ck ..i remember asking for this in the last episode and you've delivered...that show's how much you value our request 👏👏👏bigup guys
Good work Wokabi and the team. You bring the best cars on your channel na hii landcruiser ni the best for me. Second car that has a 10. Good work man.
There's an Australian expression, "If you want to go into the bush, take a Land Rover. If you want to get out of the bush, take a Land Cruiser."
Was really waiting for this episode of all, thanks canversation 💪💪💪💪🚨
Box prado also is a 78 series(rectangle headlights) and 75 series (round headlamps).1994- 1995 prado production.
Finally the Legendary Land Cruiser that is true for enthusiasts. Big Up Carnversations 👍
Thanks Wokabi once again for an informative review. I loved it. Could you kindly review a SUZUKI JIMNY?

About the 1HZ you are spot on! Great content.
Next have the 76 and also the 80Series. Kwanza ya Tanzania
Thank you!!!! for reviewing my dream moti. Gotta love it.❤
Been waiting for this since day 1. I have.... wacha nikae chini vizuri sasa
Erick after this please do a review of prado 95 series. Some of us are still attached to it. As compared to the modern j120 & j150
THe greatest of them all. All hail te 70 Series! Been driving a Troopie (78) for the past year and I can confidently say It's the undisputed king of the jungle! Not a daily driver though, its a thirsty one sometimes doing as bad as 5.5kmpL, terrible turning circle and in towns its just awful to be in tose tight roads. But out on the open roads, gravel roads in all wheels, its te best experience you"ll ever experience in any truck!
Also very lazy on steep hills but will crawl out of any deep pit nevertheless
Nice content. Consider reviewing Subaru Forester 2019 (with the new global platform)
Finally, I've been waiting for this for a long time.
This is great. We use it for extream safari off-road. It will be great if you also reviewed the Toyota hiace fulltime 4×4 3.0 1kd
Top notch content delivery... Good job.. I have a soft spot for the long chase landcruiser,,, it's very big does that make weird? Because if I am I can settle for the hardtop
Big up Erick, good job
This was the BEST 👍Motorhub waniekee hio kuna deal nangoja iivane😂
I was expecting you to compare these Toyotas with their Landrover counterparts
Of all the car reviews, this one on fire. Same thoughts for me also on acquiring all the models of LC 76,79,78. Then unajaza zote full tank. Tukutane after 2 years!😎
You'll be superised zinakunywa mafuta mbaya sana. I've used one for just two days na niliumia sana.
Consumption when you hit 100+km/h is 5-7km/l
Consumption is around 7km/litre.
If you break this Beast down, ata ndoa utavunja! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣😅😅😅😅
This was the most fun review.
For me also this is the car i would buy in the landcruiser line up 😆😆😆as a nature lover 😆😆
Wokabi Next ni Toyota Hilux ya Miraa 🤣
How does Wokabi manage to drive this care like a 1990 Dx? So comfortably!
If you wanna know how tough these cars are, ask Kenya police in north eastern region of Kenya, where they are abused, driven in insane speed on rough terrains, overloaded pushed to the core but steel they survive
I drive both the ambulance and the long chasis in this video all I can say is this is a car a youth will gift his grown-up grandchild while still in good condition.
at least Mbugua amekaa mbele for the first time in a century
Perfect review
And less you forget, they are used to ferry Miraa from my home town Meru to very hostile places like garisa moyale and other places.
Very true I was thinking the same
The 1HZ version is a living proof that humanity can still survive with only fuses and relays. No computer needed🤣🤣🤣
Finaaallyyy now we are talking 😂😂
Thanks for this review 💯💯
This thing is immortal 😂
Wokabi...please review pia the 76...we see how practicle it is...price ...,good work

It’s an understatement to even say I’m really excited @Wokabi 😅
This one was long coming
And I have a grounded Mazda 323...I don’t know where to start restoration process
This is a beast, sasa zile Landrover za sirikali
Erick with a Ck on the luxury segment leta Porsche cayenne!! Waiting for that review
THIS GUYS ARE GOOD
PLZ REMEMBER TO DO A VIDEO ON MIXING BATTERY WATER AND ENGINE COOLANT
*Wokabi forgot to say that:
1. The Landcruiser is made to take you far AND BACK unlike the landrovers
2. It shall be cheaper to buy it brund new from South Africa
Please elaborate on buying new from South Africa. Is it cheaper than buying brand new from Toyota Kenya or?
I thought Mbugua would scream while speeding 0 to 100 😂😂😂
Can I like even before watching...this'll be dope

Erick Toyota Coaster vs Mitsubishi Rosa please.
if i think of substitute, which there is next to none in this case..it has to be the defender 110. Ck i wouldn't a Land Rover Defender 110 just for the eyes m curiosity

Land cruiser 79. the myth, the legend
Nilikuwa najiuliza Mbugua atakaa wapi leo!🤣😂
I'm still at the beginning of this video and I'm wondering where the boys will sit.
Good job..
the car we have been waiting for. But in 0- 100 It depends with the driver. some people can clock 0- 100 below 15 seconds wit the same vehicle.
Of course, with hard acceleration and almost redlining in 1st and 2nd gear
