It's not a complicated beat maker but a barebone sampler. It doesn't have so many knobs, controls, menus and 100 pages instruction manual like commercial professional hardware. Its simplicity makes you be immersed to sounds and its limitation stimulates your creativity. More than anything, you can feel the joy of playing with sounds.

Interesting project!
Curious, why is the timing of the hat at the end a bit offgrid? Is that edittable?
And will there be possiblities to edit pitch of a sample?
By the way, LOVE this sequencer and pattern-chattern idea :)

Hi, as you mentioned, the timing of sound of SnapBeat is not as precise as commercial samplers. It's because of the low resolution due to low sampling frequency (about 12kHz). Now, I've implemented high quality sampling mode in which sampling frequency is about 20kHz and you can adjust timing more finely. About high quality sampling mode, please refer my blog here.

About changing pitch function, it's not active in default. But you can activate it with easy modification on PCB.

What happened to the lofi knobs that were on the opn beat blue version?

Hi, thanks for watching this video. I'm developing this sampler as open source hardware project. So I will share all design information such as schematic, PCB file, source code. I've already modified its design and made 2nd prototype. So I will send you link as soon as I can prepare project website.

what speaker are you using?
Oh, the sampler was connected to PC via LINE OUT and I recorded the sound on PC by Audacity software. No speaker.

It doesn't have filters. It only sample, truncate the sample and playback it.
