Thank you for making this video🙏🏼!! Idk if I’m paranoid or what, but twice now my gas cap has been off. I don’t think anyone is taking my gas but maybe? To be sure, getting one of these!! Doesn’t look too hard to install either.
@@CliffsHowTo I am pretty sure customers wouldn't mind paying $60 more for it. By the way I order the same one you have and hopefully my install goes smoothly. Should get here next week.
Mine was a little. I used a small crescent wrench to bend the metal a bit near the locking/mounting clips, to tighten it up. You could also remove the door again, and put a little RTV black at the contact point, around the lip of the gas door. That would hold it.
I didn’t. What I did was take it back out, and bend the metal inward a bit, near the mounting tabs. But it think just putting a bit of RTV may be a better/less invasive method. Make sure you move the rubber gasket that goes around the filler tube from the old gas cap surround, to the new surround.
Watching because someone just siphoned my tank last night. Mine comes in today, thanks for helping me install!
Nooooo!
Oh man I need this on my old jeep cherokee xj. In the pandemic I’ve left it Parked outside and had my fuel stolen from me twice. Thanks for the idea

No, it’s pretty easy. Yeah, people can’t just keep theirs hands off other people’s stuff!
Straight forward, thank you for the video!
I still don't understand why jeep hasn't made it standard to have a locked cover on it.
My guess is that it’s cheaper to produce it without a door.

They want to keep some of the original things from the first Jeeps but some do come with a cover just not locked
@@WinterM-hr3xv I end up installing one myself, but wish it came as an option when I ordered it.
Thank u
Mine is very loose...not sure what else to do followed the directions exactly

How do you get it to not spin around? Mine spins real super loose
Try some RTV black on the mating surface
@@CliffsHowTo did you have to use any black RTV? Or did I do something wrong? Plus my filler tube seems loose as well

they put a hole bottom of tank drain into milk carton. dont bother.
Really?
It's still a good idea to have a lock so kids don't play around with pouring water into the gas tank.
