  • BB sprung a leak!
I'm very much not a mechanic, but I decided to investigate a water leak and post my results.
After finding water under the glove compartment after rainfall, I thought the water may be finding its way in via a clogged drain under the hood. What follows are the steps I took to determine and then fix the issue.
If you have any tips and suggestions, let me know in the comments below!
    Helpful tools:
    Socket and ratchet set
    Flathead screwdriver
    Leatherman/pliers
    Flashlight

Great video! I used a compressor with a long stem to blow the debris through the hole without having to take off the cowel. It just empties into the engine compartment. Also on my 2013 500 POP you can see the 2 channels, one left one right, protruding into the engine compartment so having a clothes dryer lint brush you could even clean them out from that side. Too bad there's no way to post the pics I took.

Good video. Just one minor point, remember to reconnect the hose that carries the windscreen wiper fluid to the spray nozzles before clipping the cover back into place.

Mines full of crap too, but I poured a bucket of water through the cowling and it came pouring out the bottom of the car. I think I am ok, and I think it’s alright if stuff collects there, but if it gets blocked look out!

Great video, I was thinking it was my window seal that had blown.
I found on my 2015 model ,that you don't have to remove anything, the drainers have a massive hole you can get to from underneath ,I just pulled the blockage out.

Hello, thanks for your video, it was useful to disassemble the plastic piece along the window (sorry for my english!). But I did not find a solution for my problem. On my Fiat 500, I found that the pieces looking like "little black upside down bowl" that we can see at 2:36, are missing on left and right side of the car (maybe never assembled?)Would somedoby know what they are made for? Could this missing piece explain water behind the driver seat (below left passenger feet) and some water on the left side of driver carpet? Thanks for your help.

After some research, it looks like these devices are the high side of shock absorbers, then the lack of caps are probably not the cause of my problem.

Wet carpets are standard in a Fiat 500 unfortunately.

I must be the exception to your thought process, I’ve owned my 2012 Fiat since new and it does not have wet carpets.
