Insane Japanese Touge Drift Meet on Mountain Roads | Japan in a Van Ep. 11

- Опубликовано: 13 июн 2021
- The guys from CSS treat us to an insane night of proper Japanese street drifting on a mountain touge. We hit the jackpot on this one. We also take a trip through the Fukushima disaster area and call into our friends at N-style custom.
In 2019 we went back to Japan. Hungry for more after "Japan Without a Plan", we aimed to seek out AE86's, Street drifting, Kanjo culture, tuning shops and much more.
In this twelve-part special, we buy another van and travel up the east coast, documenting as much as we could, getting ourselves into some hilarious situations.
Enjoy our journey through Japanese car culture over the next few weeks. This one has been a long time coming.

I almost started to cry to see those guys still drifting the mountains keeping the culture alive
I don't think it'll ever stop unless the authorities completely make it impossible for drifters and car enthusiasts. There will always be those people who don't want to go to the track or do it the legal way.
@° Calm Music ° after going to the track multiple times I can say the track can be fun in its own way. I can safely and consistently push my car to its limits and fine tune my driving. I never push it fully on the street. Too many things can go wrong. That's not to say I didn't hit 105mph/165kph on the highway this morning but I did when there weren't a bunch of cars.
literally. same. my uncle also used to drift in the touge in Chiba in his efini fd, and he still is every weekend, and so am I with my 180
I did cry...
It needs to continue, at least like 10 years, I want a try!!
"Hooo leeee fuck" 😂😂😂😂😂, I honestly don't want this series to end it's incredible
I said that quite a lot on the trip 😅
😂😂
So can you boys just stay over there in Japan and put out a weekly episode? That’d be great. Thanks 👍
honestly tho, i could watch this once a week for the rest of my existence. this docuseries was just fucking amazing, good job guys
@@XBBBBBXx I've never looked forward to a RUclips episode as much as this series. I like the regular stuff Neil puts out, but this is on another level.
If they do that we'll never see the 86 get finished 😂
@@Matty.Hill_87 he can ship it to Japan and finish it there
@@Matty.Hill_87 thats a sacrifice im willing to make
It's amazing how 3 guys from Ireland can just show up, barely knowing any Japanese at all and yet still be so accepted into a group so quickly. Everything from getting the Winds Auto sticker, meeting Smokey Nagata to drifting mountains with people who are essentially strangers. It speaks volumes for your enthusiasm, because these people can clearly sense that their culture is something you have a genuine interest in.
Its because that's how Japanese people are...if you are into what they are into your immediately friends.
The quality of these is genuinely insane, It brought a tear to my eye to see how the street drifting is still around and how I might be able to experience it myself one day!
It depends on where u live
❤️❤️
@@juiceboxforyou Have loved every video of this series guys!

This video actually hit me in the feels
Fucking incredible. This is the reason Mondays are okay.
yea its the last thing i watch before bed. every monday. truly great serie
Humbled by that comment man cheers ❤️
I've never been to Japan.. but every time I see footage of it I feel like it's where I belong. Very strange feeling.
Me too. Japan just looks perfect to me.
The mountains secrete Eurobeat when they sense great drivers
It’s almost like theres this legend we all dream of, and this is proof it still exists.
The legend of the Japanese Mountain Hashiriya.
10:58 Albo san 😂
This road is called Happogahara and was actually in initial D as well. It's the most famous drift touge ever. As far as I know, it's one of the few remaining places where police doesn't bother drifters at all, but this might could have changed idk.
Oh damn, i would love to drift there... i did it on Sim and its one of my favourite touge :p
A specific shot they got when they pulled up looked familiar, correct me if I’m wrong but that little turn looked exactly like the one the AE86 took to minimize time/pass the other vehicle when he had a race.

I've retyped this comment so many times until I came to the conclusion that there aren't proper words to accurately describe how amazing this series is. Absolutely incredible production! Incredible work.
Thanks for saving me the trouble of even putting that into words, because I'm fair speechless by the whole thing.
What an absolutely amazing adventure, and this drift meet is truly the stuff dreams are made of.
@@feenyx6394 it actually amazes me that people are this lucky enough to 1st hand experience it and document the things we most desire to see ourselves be apart of.
Humbled by that comment man, the stuff of dreams we got incredibly lucky 🍻
7 months later, I keep coming back to these videos. This one in particular is a fantastic way to lift the spirits. Thank you for making these. No words can describe the good-feel vibe I get from these videos.
Somehow these videos get better with everyone that comes out, now they are firmly cemented as my all-time favourite video series.
Every vlog that drops get excited.
Not many channels that do that for me
Humbled by that man cheers 🍻
This bought me to actual tears, life time goal is to be able to see this in real life. Absolutely incredible experience lads.
Same, these guys are living the dream
@@Matty.Hill_87 100%!!
@muay thai23 and why is that bum boy?
@Jasmine Evans “life time goal is to be able to see this in real life” to see/visit Japan or the touge?

There are a few Japan-based RUclipsrs who can learn a thing or two from you guys! Love how real this content is.
make me so happy see this tradicion stil alive
The fact this still goes on has restored my faith in humanity. Amazing stuff
Yeah man, this was great to see
You said something similar in another video, it’s always when you want to call it a day, you stumble on gold.
Amazing series. Thank you lads
Yep 100% we made the right call
This genuinely fills me with an immense sense of happiness knowing that this style of driving and culture is still present in Japan. Growing up admiring this kind of culture was amazing, and to think it was gone was soul-destroying. What you guys have experienced here is what I can only imagine is the envy of every 90s jdm car guy's wet dream! a pleasure to be able to witness this happening. :D
Yeah man! This was a high point on the trip for sure 🍻
This episode was my favourite yet. I don’t think anything encapsulates drifting quite like seeing it in its purest form, just people doing it for fun without the bullshit politics and snobbery you see elsewhere. Such an easy watch, a thoroughly awesome series. Thank you all.
Lads, we hit the fokin' jackpot.
Thanks for bringing us this content, everything that I drool of in one video.
never thought id be watching irish dudes going to japan and going to night time touge meets but im 100% here for it
Again this is the best documentation of a trip to Japan ever! You guys smashed it you really did!! Now get that juice box merch back in store boys!
I really appreciate that, The shop is next on the to do list!
These lads have found somewhere remote, middle of the night, just for the love of drifting with your mates, not a wank pop and bang mapped fiesta in sight, not doing it for the looks, just purely for the love of it… Fucking amazing. 👌🏻
😂😂
The Y33 Cima with the roof cut off 😂 That's dope
😂😂
THERE'S ANOTHER EPISODE LEFT?!!! YESSS, I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE LAST ONE!!!! That was incredible, I feel so moved, thank you so much for this series. This is the best documentation of this culture I've seen. We'll be able to look back at this one day and thank God that it exists to show what it was like, to show why we did these things and why this was more than a hobby but a religion.
🍻🍻
Japanese people know how to vibe man I WISH I can experience this someday in Japan myself
I've been going back through this series for the last few weeks, and it still leaves me with goosebumps watching this stuff. Just amazing.
Wow, this whole video is pure magic. Love it
Their dialogue is just so relaxing and warming to hear the emotion behind their message is something I’d hang out for, well done 👏🏽

Only thing to save the day after maths paper 2😂🤙🏻

Mondays suddenly became the best day of the week once this series started, I’ll be sad to see it end
Absolutely. Helps ease me into the week hahaha
🍻🍻
Oh man, watching this again!!! It was very good and your portion that includes Fukushima was respectful and honest. A great take on it!
I was getting ready to move to Ireland when the tsunami hit and I among countless people that enjoy Japan I'm sure was devastated to see how hard it hit! I've several great friends there and know all were safe of this trifecta of horrific events... earthquake, tsunami, reactor meltdown... I cant imagine what it felt like, the sheer weight in your stomach it would cause even nearly a decade afterward. And yeah, they have no choice but to contain that top soil and basically bag it and catalogue.. then measure it's radioactive decay over the next decades to make sure it's not released until it is below normal background radiation. SOME of that stuff wont be "safe" for decades. The really nasty stuff degrades in days (why its so toxic) but there's other elements that have half lives in the 10s of years, so it's "hot" for a very very long time. My heart goes out to those people lost, hurt or displaced in the tsunami and disasters.
Same man! Its a seriously messy situation, as cool as it was to see, it was fairly depressing too. There was no way we could ever comprehend the loos people endured around that part of Japan.
Is difficult to find any word to express, after several episodes, how amazing is watch this every week... I guess i never experienced nothing similar here in RUclips, with videos made it by people i don't know but what make me feel so close to them, in spirit, in emotions, in experiences... Amazing. I keep giving you all the stronger ovation because you make me really enjoy like if i was on the side of the mountain road. Bravo!
Incredibly humbled by that comment man, glad you enjoyed this! The trip of a lifetime we were incredibly lucky.
This made me cry. Honestly. The music, the cars, the culture and the rarity of this event was overwhelming for me and im not even there. Thank you guys. 😭
The cinematography from 20:25 to 22:00 is amazing. The chillstep soundtrack and night driving go hand in hand. When the transition occurs and it switches to drifting, man... Captured the whole essence of cars in this video.
This episode fits too many emotions in just 40 minutes, and just being in the middle of nowhere, on a mountain with a bunch of guys, all hanging out for the same reason, having a good time..
must be so surreal, i will experience it myself some day, hopefully..
I too will be sad when this series ends. But I am so excited to see more of the 86 and the Irish Sheds.
Yeah man keen to get back at the 86
Perhaps the best video on RUclips. Great work team Juicebox. Something captured here many will never see.
Just wanted to say thanks boys, flip, reuben and specially Neil for putting together such quality stuff for us all to gawk at. Incredible. Stuff dreams are made of 👌👌👌
❤️❤️
you lads are getting into the noriyaro filming now, love it -- glad to hear the younglings are keeping it street style
At the end of every episode if feels like a cliff hanger. "On the next thrilling episode of dragon ball z!!!"
The meet part might be the best video I have seen in a long time on youtube. No fancy camera work. Just raw drifting how it should be filmed.
There's truly nothing better than Japan. Like hands down. The people are awesome, the places are to die for, and the car culture never fails. Japanese car culture is one the best- if not, the greatest car culture out there and to see that this is still happening with our generation?! This makes me want to go even more and I could die happy knowing that I got to experience this at least once in my time. Thank you guys for making this video, cheers!
Glad you enjoyed it Noah , make it out there whenever this pandemic stuff backs down. You wont regret it. Cheers 🍻
Insane quality once again, music is on point and man that century sounded crispy, those engines are amazing.
🍻🍻
I fell outta touch with my love for cars over the last few months, but idk something about this video makes me wanna stay up all night tinkering on my project car
Neil, Wow and I can't believe there's STILL more to come! I want to buy some merch or something as a thank you to the lads for such a great series! well done lads 🤝
Cheers man! Aiming to get the shop back real soon
What a great time that must have been... sweet content. Too bad it wasn't during the day 😭.
I need more of this quality 100/10 content in my life, literally 25+ season and beyond TV show quality, AAA title. I recommend to all my friends.

Hoping to get the shop back in action real soon
I was just thinking, the next episode should be out right about now.
Such a good watch and might I add the tea was lovely
Honestly such a shame what happened to that place.......but 60 years from now, someone will find a radioactive R34 or Supra in a shed.

Got to say from the garage videos all the way to a Japan documentary. Bois you are stepping up the video content and quality. I have to say tho I will always have a soft spot for the old videos . You guys did a great job bringing the wholesome (phucking funny) content with all the crew. Great job again and I'm grateful for knowin about and watching the channel. Thanks and great job Neil. Ya, thats badass. Touge is the dopest style of drifting. Adding elevation up/down just makes it so sick.
Simply amazing stuff. To get to see that, even through the lens of a camera, is something truly special. Thanks for filming and sharing it for the world to see.

This is awesome! Thanks for showing us a peak into most of our dreams! Super excited to see that car culture hasn't strayed from its roots
proper emotional watching the footage of the 'disaster areas' - Hard to gauge from film but can only imagine the scale of the devastation from seeing the marks on the cliff faces from the water level when the Tsunami hit, and seeing nature claiming back its space in Fukushima. From that to the highs of witnessing true street drifting up in the mountains... Amazing video as always - keep them coming guys!!
Cheers Andy 🍻
