Mike, this is great. It takes a long time to learn by trial and error. I wish I had your videos years ago.

This is a very good instructional piece. As are all of Mike's videos! He is great at giving you the reasoning behind choices - and there are many choices to make with leaders, fly size, dry vs wet and presentation, the size and mind of the fish you are after. Gee, there are many decisions to make. Mike offers the "why" and that's how you remember what he's said and make your decisions when you are standing in the water.

Looking good. Nice set. This is not the rule of thirds that I'm used to considering.

So how do you keep changing the leader? So you cut the leader from the casting line and attach another leader? Or do you work with loop in loop to connect other leaders to the casting line? Thanks for info!!!

I keep the top 4-5 feet of leader connected to the fly line and adjust the last few feet with tippit. I usually tie a surgeons knot to the new sections of tippit. quick and easy.

@@MikeMouradian Thanks! I'm a beginner and I understand what you mean. But surely at some point you will get a very short tippet and by making a surgeons knot (when replacing a tippet) you will also shorten a piece of the leader? Thx again!!
