Well, I gotta say.... I keep seeing "Jack's father" wherever Jason is mentioned, now I know who Jack is. I met Jason recently and I can see where Jack gets his love of pickleball as well as his personality. GREAT family. Thanks for this interview, Rusty and PC family.
Playing with younger players ...they're fast and funny and they'll dive for balls at the gym and I'm like wow...we older people not going to do that - lol. Great story - go for it all kid - you sound like a great sportsman
I started playing when I was 13 after my family got me into it (Scott Moore is my uncle and Daniel Moore is my cousin) but they lived far away so after I finally decided to try to go and play with some folks at the local ymca they accepted me right away and every game they help me get better. I feel that if pickleball had a younger crowd (like 20-30 mostly) it wouldn't be the same.
Growth plate. Caused by throwing to much. Not taking care of the injury can cause one arm to be shorter than the other. Most baseball players don’t come back from that injury. Way to be a condescending ass though.
I'm looking for a 5.0 pickleball coach in the SF Bay Area and am willing to pay for lessons. I've been playing for 2 1/2 months and have plateaued at about a level of 2.5. I have a lot of trouble on volleys, especially hard volleys where I have little time to react and want to work on those. I live in San Mateo, CA. Please let me know if you know of a coach in my area.
My experience is tennis players are pretty snobbish about accommodating beginners, actually. My 3.5 11 year old has played on the same court as 5.0 players without any eyebrows being raised.
They don't stand out cause the courts are 3 times bigger, the ball goes 3 times fastest plus, and the strokes are 10 times harder to learn. But, on the other hand teenage girls can compete in tennis, but boys not so much. Unlike pickleball where the weight of the ball and the shortness of the paddle limits the speed of the ball, plus 1/3 court less to cover. So yes teenage boy can compete. Win tournament's in 19 plus open singles not likely.
Excellent story. Love this young man's attitude and perserverance.
"...first day- HOOKED!" I've heard that from so many people, including myself.
watching this in 2024, wow how he has grown and up there with the pros now
Totally!

Great story. Hope he has a nice career
Great story. My 11 year old wants to be youngest 5.0 player in OR. (Or, at least close to it). Great inspiration here, thanks for sharing.
Classic.. looking forward to seeing in USA team .
great video
Anna Waters became pro at 12. Just saying
Ok, what injury ended his baseball career, where most time you stand around waiting for ball to hit to you or your swinging at balls and missing?
R Mo you can throw your arm out and get hit with a pitch

There's man who plays with us and he's 91! 😁💪
What he doing now? He top 10 in men?
Not sure, but he is not part of the pickleball pro community currently.
@@PickleballChannel Pretty sure he's getting back into it after taking a 4 year break. At least that's what my sources say

Good job, next practice how to tie your shoes.
All these things happen in tennis, but there is more competition there. These kids in tennis don't stand out.

Cause pickleball strokes are less likely to be ruined.
